After her latest jerk of a boyfriend dumps her (and ditches her with his pet hedgehog), florist Kat Kowalski is done chasing after Mr. Wrong. With her two best friends moving on to more serious relationships, she’s ready to stop repeating the same mistakes that are leaving her stuck in the single lane. Armed with a list of qualities for her perfect Mr. Right, Kat swears off dating until she finds him.
Then in a meet-disaster involving a corpse and a salty cockatoo, she stumbles across Mick O’Sullivan at his family's funeral home. Their immediate chemistry warns Kat to keep things platonic; after all, following her heart never worked out in the past, and this time she’s determined to listen to her head. But can Kat and Mick be just friends? As she gets to know him better, the lines blur, and Kat starts to wonder if she’s gotten it wrong and Mick is exactly who she’s been looking for...

I didn’t enjoy this book very much. The main characters were both annoying to me and I really hated all the dick jokes in the first chapter. I felt like it was included only to be funny.

I don't think I've ever read a book written by this author and I have no idea why not. I loved this book! The story line was realistic and Kat and Mick were so cute! There were quite a few scenes in this book that had me laughing out loud and I didn't want to stop reading. I enjoyed the friendship dynamic that Mick and Kat had and I love how that carried over into the building of their relationship. Sometimes funny things happen in romantic moments and that's what makes them memorable and 100% relatable. It was definitely a very fun read and I can't wait to read more books from Melonie!

It was hard for me to get into this book at first. In my mind, it was trying too hard to be PC to the point where it was not naturally ingrained into the book. It was a quick read, especially reading it on my phone and just scrolling through. There really wasn't much of a plot or conflict. Everything was quickly resolved and feel that there wouldn't have been more than a chapter to this "love story" if the characters weren't in their head and just spoke.

This book was too cute! I thought the main characters were fun and likable, and the friends to lovers story was sweet. I did think the third act breakup was a little misconceived and baseless. But other than that, I still really enjoyed this book! It was sweet, funny, and overall adorable!
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martins Griffin for the ARC!

After her latest less than stellar boyfriend dumps her, florist Kat is done chasing after men who are all wrong for her and has created a list of requirements to help her find Mr. Right. Then in a not so meet cute she meets Mick at his family’s funeral home, but the instant connection leads Kat to keep things platonic to avoid yet another lackluster relationship. But as their friendship grows and deepens Kat is left wondering if Mick could be Mr. Right after all.
A fun, entertaining, and quick read. The two leads were fun to read about and while their dance around each other and the forced platonic friendship was fun at first it felt to go on too long, and then her trying to force herself to date the brother just wasn’t a great plot point for me. Overall I enjoyed all the characters especially Mick and Kat’s grandmothers but I wish we could have gotten more interactions with them, but my favorite character had to be Seamus the foul-mouthed cockatoo.
Thank you to NetGalley and St Martin’s Press for sharing this digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I really wanted to like this book. It sounded super cute and the cover is adorable. But I knew this book wasn't going to be for me from the first chapter. Kat is too self-absorbed. Like girl, just be happy for your friends because they're super happy and moving forward in their relationships.
Now Mick, he seems like an okay enough guy but he needs to stand up for himself more. Doormats are cute but they get old. And what was with Kat going for Mick's brother (the stick in the mud)???
What does it say when my favorite characters are the animals?

Enjoyed the funeral home setting and the supporting characters but I didn’t connect at all with Kat. The family aspect was very well done, showing how you don’t just date a person but their entire family. Kat’s business acumen was also a nice contrast to her dating mishaps but I just found her to be flighty and unlikable, making it difficult to get through this story.

I had really high hopes for this book!
It was an ok read, I went in thinking this would be a fun romcom because of the cover but halfway through I found myself just trying to force my way through it. Mick I love you! Kat you make me want to scream. I'm sad that that's all I have to say for this book.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC

Too Wrong to Be Right is a sweet romcom featuring a recently single florist with big dreams of owning her own flower shop and a man running his family’s funeral home with his two siblings. After meeting literary on someone’s dead body, Kat and Mick immediately form a friendship that will last forever. It’s not all roses though, with denial of feelings and Mr. perfect being Mick’s brother. Kat and Mick’s story is a sweet love story that grows from strangers to friends to lovers. I liked how determined Kat was to follow her dreams and Mick’s development in learning how to stick up for himself with working for a family business. My only real issue with this book was sometimes the side plots seemed unnecessary and not super important to the main plot.

first of all can we talk about how gorgeous this cover is? it’s so pretty.
i know i’m quite late on this review but everyone that follows me on twitter knows that these past few months were hard and i barely had the time to read anything so i’m sorry for this late review.
unfortunately this book just wasnt for me. im not a huge fan of pursuing someone else while theres an obvious choice so this book really didnt work out for me. it was a fun read at first but it just became too much after awhile
i would give it between 2 and 2.5 stars

This was an okay contemporary romance and was easy to read. After Kat gets dumped, she decides to swear off what she deems as the wrong type of guy. She then immediately (like same day) meets cute and charming Mick. They have chemistry and he's interested in her, but Kat decides he seems too similar to her exes and goes for Mick's boring older brother instead. Why? They have nothing in common, not much attraction, but he's responsible and I guess that's what she thinks she needs?
Kat wasn't my favorite character. She's insecure about her relationships, both romantic and platonic, and seems to make poor decisions like going after a guy she doesn't like. She also does that thing I hate, where the woman tells the man to leave, but when he does she gets mad because he should have fought for her. He respected your boundaries and you're angry? Maybe say what you mean then.
Mick is great and I felt bad for him that he had to watch Kat try to hook up with his brother. I probably would've just moved on and I think he's the one that deserved a big gesture, not her.
I did like Seamus, the talking parrot, as well as Kat's grandma. They were cute side characters and added a bit of fun.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All opinions are my own. Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the copy

This was a cute book, entertaining, and the characters were realistic. I do feel as though this dragged a touch, otherwise, I will definitely take a look at the first book to learn a little bit more about the world!
Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's press for this ARC!

Thank you to St. Martins Press for the review copy of Too Wrong to be Right by Melonie Johnson. The very first line had be wondering how much I might laugh and enjoy the edgy funny vibe this ode to romcoms/romance tropes has to offer and indeed I had fun with the story and characters, the strong friendship themes as well as the connection to favorite romance movie tropes and plot points.
It wasn't my most favorite read though despite the fun, I think I just didn't really feel that Kat was a character I wanted to know, to cheer on, and hope for... Maybe it was just her, maybe some of the context was a little too silly to draw me in? There was flare and style in places but overall this wasn't a complete miss but it also felt at times I was pushed away as much as I wanted to be drawn in.

3.9 stars from me !
I liked: this was an easy going read, and held my attention pretty well. I enjoyed reading about Kat and Mick as they got to know each other as well as the fact that it was in dual pov. I’m a sucker for a HEA so that was a nice finish.
I didn’t like : Sometimes the main character Kat seemed to be a pick me and kinda got on my nerves at times. Plus, I dont mind when I book is predictable if the journey leading up to the end result is good. However, I found for me that there were times (since it was written in dual POV) where both characters were being completely oblivious to what was going and I was just like “seriously?”. I also feel that there was nothing that really stood out to me about either characters that really made me love them..
Overall, a pretty good to be expected romance.

Hedgehogs, Cockatoos, and Kolackies, what more can one expect in the moving and wonderful love story Too Wrong to Be Right by Melonie Johnson, book two in her Sometimes in Love series. This story was the perfect combination of sweet, smexy, and laugh-out-loud moments. This story is a whirlwind of emotions, love, loss, and family. Adding in a little bit of spice, it makes for a great story that drew me in, holding me hostage until I reached the end of the story, wanting more.
Kat Kowalski, an aspiring flower shop owner, has been dumped once again, and of her two best friends and their new relationships, she creates a list of qualities she hopes to find in a potential Mr. Right. On the same day her relationship ends, she acquires a pet hedgehog and meets Mick O'Sullivan, a lovable weirdo who is trying to fit in as he works with his siblings at the family's funeral business. Following their unconventional meet-cute over a dead body, these two quickly become friends. Kat was immediately attracted to Mick, but he’s so much like her past boyfriends, that she decides his brother Joe would be a better fit for her future. Mick will do whatever he thinks will make Kat happy, even if that means stepping aside. Mick was adorable and so sweet, with his Irish roots and mismatched socks. His laidback vibe, wanting the best for both Kat and his brother, was sad and heart breaking as he stood on the sidelines hoping this would make Kat happy.
Ms. Johnson wrote a cute, fun read that had me smiling and laughing pretty much from the first page. This must read story was very entertaining, with characters that were easy to fall in love with, sizzling chemistry, and secondary characters who were just as interesting as the main characters. With so many fun moments that included Jojo the hedgehog, the colorful vocabulary of Seamus the cockatoo, and the grandmothers of Kat and Mick, adding a colorful and amusing depth to the story. I highly recommend Too Wrong to Be Right to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

My biggest issue with this one was that one of the main characters works in a funeral home. That is a bug of a mood killer for a romcom, I found the book to be repetitive and a struggle to get through.

So many warm fuzzies from this book! I was surprised I liked a book that involved so much of the time at a funeral home but honestly it was really cute and fun! Kat is so precious and I love her (and Mick too!). I definitely recommend!

I thought the concept for this story was great. But the execution was lacking for me.
It felt disjointed for most of the novel. Skipping time but not in a way that flowed, as if it needed to hit certain marks to make sense.
The main character was self-centred and lacked emotional intelligence. It was difficult to read about her complaining about her life and her jealousy over her friends. I liked Mick as a character, and he showed growth, but the end of the novel was cruel to him. He was stuck apologizing for something when he did nothing wrong.
An ARC was provided by NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press in exchange for an honest review.

This was a cute romance and all the side characters, especially Seamus made it a fun read. The friendship and romance between Kat and Mick made sense and how it grew over the story worked. While it was a good read it also felt that something was missing in parts of the story and how it progressed. In the end I like how they both realized their emotions.
I would probably rate this books between a 3.5 and a 4 stars.
