This is a funny romantic and heartwarming story that will give you all the coziness that a good rom-com should! This book has everything a rom-com fan would be looking for! Slow burn, misunderstanding, angst, and lovable and laughable secondary characters! Another relationship comes to an end for Kat and she realizes that she is picking all the wrong guys! The things that attracted her to these guys are the things that make them unlikely candidates for a long term relationship. So when Kat makes her checklist of the qualities that Mr. Right should have, she'd determined to steer clear of guys that don't make the list! Besides, she has a lot going on in her life! She wants to move forward with her dream of owning her own flower shop and putting in the time to her girlfriend relationships. So when she meets brothers, Mick - instant chemistry but that's where she's always gone wrong in the past, and Joe - checks off all the boxes on her list her mind tells her which one is right for her. But her heart........
The only cons for me were a bit too much self-pity by Kat when it came to her girlfriend relationships. I understood where she was coming from, but it became a bit much at times. I wish I got to know more of her story. Mention of repeated relationship failures, but don't know much about them. Don't know anything about her parents except that they're not around. Minor things that did not have a big impact on my enjoyment of this story!
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for this arc for my review.

This book was cute but I didn’t love it. I wanted to but it took me a bit to get into then I just wanted Kat to forget about her stupid list and stop torturing Mick. The whole thing could have been resolved if they just talked to each other and while I know that’s the point, I was frustrated.
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book had a really slow start, which ultimately led to me marking it as DNF after about 30%. I didn't feel the chemistry between the characters, and the humor I loved in the previous book was noticeably absent. There were some bright moments, but overall, it fell flat. The storyline itself didn't flow well, and some of the actions the characters took seemed forced to move along the plot.
Part of the issue with the missing chemistry, I believe, is that this book seemed less focused on romance plot and more about making points about irrelevant things. There was a huge amount of content around green energy, green solutions to burials, etc. While interesting, it's not something that added to the story, and every time I started to feel intrigued by the storyline, we cut to commercial about green energy. I'm serious, it was very jarring in the way it was written. A more subtle nod would have been better suited to the reading experience. I'm supportive of green energy, but I don't want to read pages about it in a romance novel.
Overall I was disappointed, which was surprising for me. I normally really like this author. I may try reading again at a later date, but for now, I couldn't push through it.

Too Wrong to Be Right had me in stitches from the first line! Between clothes for an adorable hedgehog, spicy crochet projects, a foul mouthed cockatoo and sarcastic banter I’m not sure what had me laughing more! The novel follows Kat and Mick as they navigate their futures both professionally and personally. Their worlds literally collide over a deceased body while Kat is delivering a floral arrangement to Mick’s family run funeral home and that interaction leads them to friendship, business partnerships and possibly a whole lot more!
Check out this hilarious romcom coming to shelves February 28, 2023!
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Griffin for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I liked that this book was in 2 POVs, seeing how Kat and Mick fell for each other. The book's pacing drags in some places, but overall it's a cute romance.
Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy.

Hilarious right off the bat. I enjoyed every bit of this book! The characters are all very likeable and funny in their own way. I especially like Mary Kate and babica. It has a great storyline and it is very much a rom-com! It is jam packed with all the usual stuff rom-coms have but this one feels special with all the Easter egg mentions of movies that they introduce to their weekly CCC. Don’t even get me started on Jojo! Too cute for sure! Oh and can’t forget the bonus of the line that included “…… turgid rod….” Died laughing! This was an ARC and I’m voluntarily leaving this review.

I thought this was a a really cute book. It was a fast paced read. It was really enjoyable. Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book early

Thank you to @netgalley and @stmartinspress for allowing me and ARC copy!
Kat works at a florist shop as a manager and lives above the shop. She wants to have a shop all of her own one day since she was a little girl.
Mick is an O’Sullivan and works at his family Funeral Home. His famoly, specifically his brother, thinks of his as a screwup and that he can’t do anything right. But that changes….
The two of them meet in an uncanny situation while she is putting on a boutonnière on a corpse at the request of his first wife.… and the craziness starts from there on out.
You’ll have to read the book to learn about her list of attributes she is looking for in Mr Right. And then let me know what you think!
I enjoyed reading the story of Kat and Mick and all the things they go through! Stubbornness on both of their parts and having to think through their wants and needs and feelings in their own ways
Friends to Lovers, Family, Meddling Sister and Grandparents in a Good Way, it does touch on nonbinary and being gay (not in the main characters but in coworkers but doesn't go into detail), Grumpy to Sunshine.

Super cute book! Quick read! Grabbed my attention from the first paragraph. Thanks NetGalley for allowing me to read this book early!

Cute story! I enjoyed the characters and dialogue very much. Unique and engaging story line. Enjoyable story!

Thank you to St Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the ARC!
Reading this around Valentine’s Day was so perfect because this book is an adorable romcom! It had humor, romance, and a fun group of characters, and I didn’t want to stop reading! It was a little predictable, but I think that’s expected with the genre and didn’t bother me. Absolutely recommend for a light, easy read!

Kat has recently been dumped and has decided to only date guys who are the opposite of her usual type. She meets Mick, who is definitely her type, so she insists on them being just friends.
Along the way, you meet some interesting characters (Ronnie, Laura, Mary-Kate), and we run into some ridiculous funny moments (getting drunk at a wake, Halloween karaoke).
Although this story had tons of sweet and swoon worthy moments, it was hard to get past how unlikable Kat was. On the flipside of that, Mick is this genuinely wonderful person who will do anything for Kat and comes across like a doormat to her. I also don't understand why the hedgehog was needed in this story as it didn't add anything to the story.
Despite my criticisms above, I did enjoy the book, as the writing was fun and light, which resulted in a quick read.
3.5 / 5 (rounded to 4)

After Kat was dumped by her latest boyfriend and inherited a pet hedgehog in the process, she decides to make a list of qualities necessary for her Mr. Right after too many Mr. Wrongs. Feeling a bit left behind by her best friends and their newfound loves, Kat has a spooky meet cute with Mick at his family's funeral home.
Mick was the perfect guy from the beginning and they had instant chemistry but we weren't sure why Kat quickly put him in the friend zone. She didn’t stop and notice that he is kind and thoughtful with the added benefit of being attracted to him! Mick becomes a great friend to Kat and she helps him find his way in the family business. While Kat was a little bit frustrating and Mick was a bit of a pushover, the overall story was cute and entertaining. We didn't like the fact that Kat thought Joe was a better candidate than Mick just because he was more serious but she found her way eventually.
What we liked:
▪️New friends to lovers
▪️all the side characters (Mary-Kate, Laura, Ronnie, and the Grandmas plus the pets!)
▪️Dual POV
What we didn’t like:
▪️Kat pursuing Joe (Mick's brother)
▪️Their break up was very abrupt & confusing

I liked this one better than Too Good to be Real! I thought Kat and Mick had way better chemistry, and again the story was written well. I have a feeling it’s going to be a struggle for them to get together? She‘s sees him as a friend and he is very interested in her. And while that’s ALWAYS what happens, I just don’t think I’m going to like however it unfolds. It’s moving a little too slow which is FINE it’s just seemingly isn’t going in the direction I want it to be at this point in the book…
And I was immediately annoyed with her and her friends? The way she was convinced they were leaving her behind because they’re now in relationships and her friends were like ‘yeah kinda’ ???
Again I’m rating it 3 stars only because I don’t actually think it’s a bad book! I just lost interest.
DNF at 40%
Thanks to Netgalley and SMP for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I received this book from NetGalley and the publishers to read and review. All statements above are my true opinions after fully reading this book.

This book is hilarious and had me laughing from the opening line. (cozy cock anyone?) 😅 I loved all of the characters. Our FMC Kat is recently single after her boyfriend leaves her and his pet hedgehog behind to follow his love show hosting dreams in Canada.
Kat decides it time to stop dating Mr. Wrong and sets off with a list of what she wants. Enter into the picture Mitch and his mismatched socks, oh and his foulmouth bird.
The chemistry is there from the start but Kat wants to avoid another Mr Wrong situation, place Mitch into friend-zone city. But as time goes on, connections get stronger and lines get blurred, maybe Mitch O’Sullivan is just want Kat needs after all.
This read is:
funny
engaging
lovable characters
light spice
finding somebody who loves you for you
feel good vibes

Florist Kat is finally ready to settle down with her "Mr. Right" - the opposite of the type she usually goes for. When Kat meets Mick O'Sullivan, she swears to keep things purely platonic and chases after his brother instead...
This romcom has it all: music, family, corpses, an adorable hedgehog, a cursing cockatoo, karaoke, and good food.
I loved this book. I was instantly in love with both Kat and Mick, especially with how much they both love their families and cultures. I loved their friendship and watching them evolve from friends to something more.
Melonie knows exactly how to incorporate pop culture, humor, and bizarre situations (Mick's family owns a funeral home, for goodness sake!)
The ending was a little rushed for me... I wish we had a little more time with them together and to wrap everything up.

Kat and Mick don't have a meet cute, and then keep bumping in to each other. They become friends and he doesn't check all the boxes on her list for Mr Right, but can her prove her wrong?
A great read, looking forward to more books from this author.

Abruptly dumped yet again after her longest ever relationship (of 6 months), Kat is determined to change her ways and find her Mr. Right. Will a guy who seems like the generic Mr. Right be the one for her... or is it his brother, who seems all wrong?
Even though most book romances are insta, I still want the "happily ever after for now" to feel somewhat plausible, if given some time. That wasn't the case here. Kat shouldn't be pursuing a therapist, she should be IN therapy to resolve her issues and figure herself out. This character's misguided thinking was just too much and this wasn't the book for me.
Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for gifting me with an ARC to review!

After her most recent boyfriend breaks up with her, Kat decides she needs to change the type of guy she dates. She makes this decision the same day she meets Mick, when she's delivering flowers to a local funeral home. Mick is the kind of guy she would date, but she becomes friends with him instead. Mick likes Kat but she explains that the guys she dates end up being bad for her and he's willing to wait it out. Kat's two best friends are moving ahead of Kat in their relationships and Kat is jealous. I found Kat's being aware of her feelings regarding her friends more enlightened than her dealing with her feelings for Mick. Regardless that Mick has shown her he's not like other guys, she denies her feelings and tries to force a relationship with Mick's brother, Joe, who fits her "new" criteria. Good read!
