Too Wrong To Be Right is a fabulous romantic comedy .
The only consistent factor in Kat’s life is her weekly get together a with her best friends and visiting her grandmother . Just when she feels like life is great her boyfriend breaks up with her for a chance to go on a reality dating show and leaves her with a pet hedgehog .
Just as Kat swears she isn’t going to fall for a certain type of guy she meets Mick while working and as much as she tries she can’t help being drawn to him .
This is a cute quirky story that will have you laughing all the way until the end . Thanks Netgalley and Publisher for a copy for my honest opinion.

So, so fun! Kat is feeling defeated by continually attracting the wrong men in her life. Now with a list of perfect qualities to look for, she's ready to finally meet her Mr. Right.

The hilarious meet-cute was the perfect icebreaker into this romance. Kat being a florist and Mick the co-owner of a funeral home, it was such a clever mesh of two careers.

I adored Mick O'Sullivan, with his Irish roots and mismatched socks. His laidback vibe, willing to sit in the friend zone purely to see Kat happy, was too precious.

There's a bit of a love triangle. Mr. Right vs Mr. Wrong, you could say. And I loved it. It's one of those situations where I can acknowledge how frustrating Kat is at times; I wanted to scream at her to simply see how wonderful Mick is. But the chemistry and slow, slow burning tension made it all worthwhile. There's a great snowed-in scene, too!

The touches of friendship, family, and a salty cockatoo were the cherry on top.

I received this book as an ARC on Netgalley.

The story of Mick and Kat was a very cute one. I found the it was a little slow to start with but ended up being a very good book. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves a cute love story.

In the spirit of Valentine’s day, I’m kicking off the month of love with a review for Melonie Johnson’s new romance! ‘Too Wrong to Be Right’ follows Kat, a florist who is trying to change her fate in relationships. Making a list of qualities for her perfect “Mr. Right,” Kat sets off on a new journey toward love… until she meets Mick.

‘Too Wrong to Be Right’ is truly rom-com perfection. Kat and Mick’s meet-cute is superb, and their banter was hysterical. The side characters in Johnson’s story also lended a perfect hand and great humor to the romance. Although, my favorite characters may have been Jojo and Seamus, the pets!

I really enjoyed the Irish traditions and moments with Mick’s family and also Kat navigating her relationships with her friends when they’re all at different places in their lives. ‘Too Wrong to Be Right’ is a perfect novel to add to your romance TBR this spring, pub day is 2/28!

Thank you to @netgalley and @stmartinspress for this ARC!

This book was okay! It wasn't my favourite. The beginning immediately through me off and I couldn't really relate to the MCs or get on with their voice. It was a cute read, but not one I will be gravitating to again.

sadly after about half way through this book I DNF it. It was just too slow moving for me and not enough character development was happening.

This was a sweet and fun story to read. It had a great cast of characters, witty banter, humor, and heartwarming moments. I haven’t read anything by Melonie before, but I will definitely be reading her previous works as I really enjoyed her writing style.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

I have said it before and I will say it again, I love stories with feisty grannies, and foul-mouthed birds. This had both, and an adorable hedgehog to top it off. Too Wrong to Be Right was lots of fun to read. I enjoyed the sweet friends to lovers story. The pacing was a little off in parts, but still kept me fully entertained. Even though Kat and Mick each had their moments of annoying me with their miscommunication, I liked them and kept rooting for them. 😂 The cast of side characters were so good and added so much to the story. Seamus absolutely stole the show, and my heart. He was by 💯 my favorite. 🦜

Overall an entertaining read with a good message that Mr. Right isn’t just someone who ✅ all the boxes.

What I enjoyed;
✨ Seamus & JoJo
✨ Slow-burn Romance
✨ Hilarious Meet-Disaster
✨ LOL Banter

There were so many things that I loved about this book, but there were also a few ehh moments for me.

One of my favorite parts about this book was the setting. I thought the funeral business/florist connection was pretty original, and it really sets the book up to have some emotional depth while also bringing unique humor to the novel.

I also really enjoyed our main characters and their friendship, but some of their "hang-ups" wore on me a little. The main thing that I struggled with was Kat's interest in Mick's brother. It just felt really forced and not needed - BUT I don't really like the whole sibling competition troupe in any book.

Even so, I enjoyed the book a lot, but it didn't knock it out of the park for me. However, I did fall in love with Mick, and I was laughing from page 1. It seriously might be one of the funniest opening pages to a book that I have read. I was cackling!

And of course, a huge thank you to NetGalley for the advanced digital copy of this book!

The male main character's unusual job--Mick and his siblings own a funeral parlor--gives an unusual edge to this appealing story. Many of the usual tropes are present: a slow-burn friends-to-lovers romance, a love triangle, strained family relationships, toxic exes, a wacky best friend, and a third-act breakup due to a misunderstanding. The novel definitely has the comedy part of 'rom-com' down pat: there are slapstick antics at the funeral home, an inherited pet hedgehog with a wardrobe of cute costumes, and a tree-hugging boss for the heroine, Kat, who works as a florist. Readers who enjoy this type of humor should find a lot to appreciate here. The characters soon draw you in, and the action proceeds smoothly throughout this light read. There are some more serious themes, such as the hero's difficult relationship with his brother, who is also contending for the attention of the female lead, and Kat's childhood trauma resulting from an incident at her grandfather's funeral. These themes are never treated in too heavy a fashion, and the main characters get their happy ever after. Kat and Mick's personal issues impact their relationship, as each projects feelings and attitudes onto the other that result from their own insecurities. I thought the breakup part of the story could have been a bit stronger, but the novel is a lot of fun to read and rom-com fans will find a lot to enjoy here.

This started off SO strong, but then feel very flat for me at the end.

This book begins with Kat, our MC, being dumped by yet another crappy, self-centered asshole boyfriend. This leads her to set out on a mission to challenge her patterns and seek out a “Mr. Right” for herself, only to meet a disheveled, flirty Mick hours later. He seems like the type who spells trouble, but she can’t deny her attraction to him.

Let’s start with the good. I enjoyed a lot of the cozy aspects of this story, such as Kats flower shop, her merry band of lovable co-worker friends, her pet hedgehog, her relationship with her Polish grandmother. I did feel Kat & Mick’s connection to one another, and when they decided to be friends I loved the dynamic created between them. They supported eachother in sweet, healthy ways, and challenged eachother when they were being down on themselves.

The next thing I loved ended up being a double edged sword: I loved Mick. While being the perpetually disheveled middle sibling who is always bending to fill the spaces left behind, never being the person he wants, he was very clearly and objectively a GOOD guy. He has a counseling degree (a detail that is mentioned a cringey number of times, but I digress), he communicates effectively, he supports Kat and gives her space when she needs it and reassures her in turn. This was great, but also frustrating as the premise of the story is that Kat has decided, for some unknown reason, that Mick is not Mr. Right.

This made the third act conflict & breakup unbearable for me. The problem these two were facing was entirely fabricated, and strung out into a complicated miscommunication that honestly doesn’t fit well with the characters as people. This didn’t really make me dislike Mick or Kat as characters, it just made it very clear that the writing wasn’t working for me.

I have heard good things about this authors other books, so I do intend to give her another try. I just found that there were too many details in this one that were not to my taste.

Thank you to St. Martin’s press for the opportunity to read & review this title before publishing!

I started reading this book when I was experiencing a reading slump. This book got my attention and got me out of my reading slump when I recognized I kept thinking about what was going to happen next. Just like this book is a slow burn between Kat and Mick, it was a slow burn in the fact that it slowly got my attention (in a good way).

Kat and Mick are both down-to-earth, relatable characters. It's a strangers-to-friends and a friends-to-lover trope, but in reality, Mick has eyes for Kat from the beginning. This rom-com was very light and fun to read. Kat's trauma in the dating world can be related to dating today and the decisions she makes throughout the book make sense with her not trusting whether guys like her for her body or for her. Kat also talks a lot about being left behind due to her friends moving on with their relationship, which is super relatable for a 20-something-year-old. This book also features finding out more about what they both want to do in their life (Kat wanting to own a flower shop and Mick figuring out how to be his own person).

Overall, I enjoyed the development of ALL the characters and how their families supported both of their decisions throughout the book. This book also incorporates a lot of different cultures and backgrounds and was done very well. The romance between Mick and Kat was fun to read and unforgettable. 4/5 stars on this book! Thank you Netgalley, St. Martin's Press, and Melonie Johnson for a free eARC in return for an honest review!

💐 Lovable Characters
💐 Cinnamon Roll MMC
💐 Dual POV
💐 One Cute Hedgehog 🦔
💐 Hilarious Situations and Banter

I really enjoyed reading Too Wrong To Be Right! I found the supporting characters to be so cute and hilarious. They really made the story for me.

I also really liked Mick. Reading his POV really helped me to understand and sympathize for him and what he was going through. He is so selfless and thoughtful. I just love him!

The only issue I had was the FMC was a bit annoying at some points. However, for a majority of the book I did really like her character. She also had some amazing qualities, and putting the few annoying moments aside, was still a pretty lovable character.

I will be giving this 4 stars! I would recommend this to readers who enjoy rom-coms!

We meet Kat as she’s being dumped by her loser boyfriend. Her dating track record hasn’t been stellar, so she sets out to find Mr. Right. So when Kat meets Mick, who doesn’t meet the requirements she’s looking for, she’s determined for them to be just friends. Will Kat realize that Mick is the wrong type of right she’s been looking for all along?

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for sending me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It took a few chapters for this book to pick up speed, but overall I enjoyed this cute rom-com. Told as a dual POV, I liked Kat’s character, but I loved Mick’s. I thought he was amazing right away so I’m not sure why it took so long for Kat to notice, but I guess she’s looking for her Mr. Right, not mine 🤪

Was this my favorites rom-com ever? No, it wasn’t. But it was a quick, easy read, and fun to check out a new to me author. I’ve seen great reviews of her books and I will definitely be checking them out.

A fun romcom. Kat if a florist making bad decisions in love and relationships. After getting dumped and being left with a very adorable hedgehog named JoJo she makes a list of what qualifications mr. Right should have. In comes are mmc Mick he works at his families funeral home (that houses an inappropriate cursing bird). There was plenty I liked about this book like kat feeling left behind by friends getting married/commiting to relationships. Mick trying to find his place in the family business. *Possible spoiler ahead* Where the book lost me is why Mick was not good enough for Kat from day 1 she made him seem like he was like everyother jerk she dated when he didn't read that way at all. The whole brother storyline felt very filler and unnecessary. I would still recommend because it is a fun read.

A great follow up to Too Good to Be Real! I might even have enjoyed it more! I love that the author continues her trend of including animals in her world building. Seamus, the foul-mouthed cockatoo and JoJo, the adorable hedgehog were such charming additions to an already loveable cast of characters. This one is both sexy and sweet and sure to delight readers like it did me.

Too Wrong to Be Right by Melonie Johnson
This is an enjoyable story between Kat and Mick - She is dumped by her boyfriend and ends up with his hedgehog. She meets Mick with a corpse involved. Kat always picks the wrong type of male and Mick is unsure of his direction in life. There is angst, self-doubt, attraction, great friends, family and co-workers, laughter, tears, and love all leading to a HEA.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Easy-to-read Wonderful characters Witty Informative Romantic Entertaining Happily Ever After.

3 Stars Too Wrong to Be Right was a sweet, slow-burn friends-to-lovers romance. I loved the cover of this book when I saw it on NetGalley, but was a little disappointed with the story, mostly the ending. Kat and Mick’s banter was adorable and I loved their genuine connection and friendship. It was easy to see how their relationship would transition from friends to lovers because of the strong foundation they built first. The third act breakup was annoying and I thought both characters were acting a bit immature, especially since neither wanted to be the first to go to the other once they realized they were wrong. The ending wrapped up too quickly and I wish we had seen more of their HEA. The best part of this book was easily the pets; JoJo the hedgehog and Seamus the cockatoo.

Too wrong to be right started off strong but I lost interest soon at 35 percent. I have a rule not to read books that seem to be hard to get into this year.

I did like Seamus, the bird and the hedgehog. I tried skipping to the end to see if I'd like it but didn't fully read that either which is another sign to DNF.

Thank you Netgalley and publishers for chance to read and review. It was a one star for DNF.

I completely loved this story. It's a very slow-burn romance, but in all the best ways. I connected with Kat on so many levels. She is such a hot mess in the relationship/life department and I can relate to so many of her struggles. But not just her - all the characters personalities leap from the pages and right into your heart. Especially, the animal kingdom variety. Seamus, you foul mouthed bird, you are the absolute best. I love you with my whole f*king heart. Get this book on your must read list!
