Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the opportunity to read this arc.

This friends to lovers romance fell a little flat to me. I had a hard time getting into the characters and the storyline. I did see potential in Kat struggling to find her Mr. Right when he was ‘in front of her the whole time.’ I just didn’t feel connected to the story or characters as I have in other stories.

I liked it - cute and fun, but not necessarily groundbreaking (but that’s not a bad thing). Would recommend, but wouldn’t be a repeat read for me.

This story was not a good read for me. The cover is very misleading, which is VERY dissapointing. Thanks for theAEC, publishing and Netgalley!

Thank you NetGallery for this ARC! This story was so so cute! Mick and Kat are perfect together. Love that a cockatoo was involved along with a hedgehog were pets in the book!

This was the best friends to lovers trope i’ve seen in a while and I loved the banter, Mick being Kat’s wingman, and the whole dynamic of the book! You better check this one out!!

After being dumped and left with her exes pet hedgehog, Kat vows to find Mr. Right. Then she literally runs into someone over a dead body, finds new friends/family, discovers her modified life goals, and sees how things turn out to not be quite what she expected. This was a fun read but the two main characters were very frustrating at times. Their behavior is supposed to be explained away due to Kat's 'goal' but it often came off as immature and just plain old poor communication. Despite the frustrating behavior, I did enjoy this book. I really enjoyed the cast of characters and the relationships they had. I am grateful to have received the egalley for review and would recommend this.

Just the rom-com your heart needs.

Kat can't seem to find Mr. Right, she is convinced her type is a$$holes...and she is determined to step out of her comfort zone.

Mick is going through the motions of day to day...but spends the majority of his time being the glue that holds his family together and the buffer between bickering siblings.

Fate has big plans for these two and you get taken along on the journey. There were so many layers to each character and a lot of opportunities for self growth. Both needed to acknowledge their struggles and insecurities before moving forward.

You will laugh a lot..when you meet Seamus you will know.

Who would have thought you could meet a love interest at a funeral parlour, over a corpse? Certainly not me.

This one was a reminder that sometimes the guy that you think is Mr. Wrong might actually turn out to be Mr. Right.

Cute, but fell a little flat for me.

The characters are great. Literally ALL of the characters. I would like to see another book in the world. Mostly because I want Joe to have his happy ever after. <3

Kat is sweet. I do enjoy how thoughtful she is, but she counteracts that when it comes to Mick, and it’s frustrating. Mick on the other hand is ohhhh so sweet, So sweet, he is walked over too much.

The chemistry is there, however, the road they take to get to the end does not make 100% sense.

Thank you NetGalley and Melonie Johnson for the chance to read this book!!! All thoughts are completely my own.

I have never been more frustrated with two main characters than I was with Kat and Mick. I wanted to shake them and tell them they were idiots. And honestly, I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Their chemistry was beautiful and so evident that if they were real, the sexual tension could but cut by a knife. It wasn’t just the witty banter that did it for me either, it was the loving friends and family, hilarious inner thoughts, and Jojo the hedgehog that really earned this book 4 stars.
If you enjoy the torture of watching two idiots fumbling their way into love, this is a must read.

This was a super cute, and I did enjoy it! I thought the characters were relatable, and it was a light hearted read that one could resonate with. The story had so much potential, and I was super excited to read it but it took me a lot longer to get into than I thought it was going to. The second half of the book was great! I absolutely loved Kat and Mick and the friends to lovers trope, but I felt like the first half held a lot of fluff. With that being said, without that, you don’t get the full feel of the characters and aren’t able to watch them grow.

I received an ARC of this book as a gift from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Oh where to start… This is a well written, funny, awkward and chaotic book, but if you love characters that feel like you’re getting to know (or judge) a real person this is a great book. It took me 3 weeks to pick this book up after about the first 5-6 chapters but once I did I blew through the rest.

At the beginning of this book Kat is one of those girls that she’s hard to love because you don’t really know her. You judge her personality and choices harshly, but once you get to know her you really grow a soft spot for her, or at least I did.

Mick on the other hand was lovable from the start and was what helped me keep reading this book. I’m also hoping some people in his family are in the next book! And as an added bonus like my reviews before this, I LOVE when animals with personalities are written into a story!!

A fun, light-hearted read that kept me (overall) entertained from beginning to end . I loved the story line, the close knit family atmosphere, and the universe the author created; however, I felt that the dialogue was on the cheesier side and the characters needed a bit more development and depth . A solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars! Thank you @thewritinglush , @stmartinspress & @netgalley for the opportunity to enjoy this work of fiction. @thewritinglush is a new (to me) author & I was not disappointed!

This was a cute rom-com among all of the other cute rom-coms. I loved the diverse representation in this one. Mick O'Sullivan was an adorable love interest/main character and I appreciated that Kat was not obnoxious, even if she was sometimes a little clueless in her pursuit of finding Not Mr. Wrong. The writing was easy to read and there were some laugh-out-loud moments. It didn't set itself apart from other books but I also wasn't bored when I was reading it, so I gave it four stars.

2.5/5 stars for me!

This story had really good potential, but fell short for me. The pacing felt weird the entire way through.... It was a slow-burn with a really abrupt switch from friends to lovers that felt a little exploitative given the situation (won't drop spoilers but if you read this, you'll see what I mean!) I wish the love triangle-ish situation between Kat, Mick, and Joe was explored a bit more. The third-act-"breakup" felt, again, really abrupt and disappointing.

I'm disappointed that this book wasn't as good as I expected after hearing positive reviews of Melonie Johnson's other works. I'll definitely check out another one of her books, but I wouldn't recommend reading this one if you don't have patience to get through the clunky storytelling.

Thanks a bunch to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press/St. Martin’s Griffin for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest review!

Too Wrong To Be Right was a cute and quirky read! I liked Kat and Mick’s chemistry and the back and forth between them. While I enjoyed this book, I did feel like there was a lot going on at times, and it took away from the story.

Meh. The only thing interesting about the characters were their jobs, which tells you everything you need to know.

This one is adorable. I have a high high suspicion that it will go viral in the book tube/book tok community

She’s a 10 but she makes very poor decisions! Yes, ladies and gentleman, THIS IS KAT, our heroine. I wanted to scream multiple times into the book for her to wake up and smell the coffee… she was oblivious to what was right in front of her!

This is my first book by Johnson and I enjoyed her writing style, humor, and overall story. I do feel that Kat’s fears surrounding the future were relatable for many - her friends were getting engaged, married, or already had kids and she felt as though she was falling behind. Mick, our male main character was just so kind, patient, and understanding - he was the perfect guy! (that put up with a lot of Kat’s poor decisions!)

I recommend this book if you enjoy:

- Strangers to friends, then friends to lovers tropes
- Open door romances (A few scenes)
- Instant chemistry
- Humorous beginnings (Hint: The meet cute involves a casket!)
- Heroines making poor decisions
- Flower shops and funeral home settings
- A swearing parrot
- A cute little hedgehog dressed in clothes
- Cute book covers (of course!)

I'm very concerned about these characters going forward. It seems that both of them needed to be in therapy instead of trying to create an HEA. The thought that they will go on living a happy life is not what I was left with at the end of the book. In the Author notes, a friend was thanked for proofreading and editing. I know this is an ARC, but there were alot of serious flubs in the editing, IF any was done.
