I really enjoyed this cute rom-com! It was a fairly quick read with a feel good ending. I do think the book became a bit repetitive by the end and there were a few plot points that didn’t really make sense (specifically the end wedding - was Mick supposed to have magically intuited when the wedding was?), but overall it was cute and I would be happy to read more books from this author!

Too Wrong to Be Right was too cute to be boring. Kat and Mick had instant chemistry, a florist and a funeral home worker - sounds like a good match to me. The book gives you so much "will they, won't they" and the miscommunication is constant. But I finished the book satisfied.

when I first saw this cover (which I LOVE) I immediately went to go read the blurb which drew me in even more. I was so excited to read, Kat the mc seemed amazing. She had just had gotten dumped by some dude and swore of men, well the men she would usually go for. Her and her friends then get together and compile a list of everything she should be looking for a “mr right” which seems like a good idea but them Kat meets Mick (the mmc). Who she thinks is too much like her usual type (but is he???) that’s the big question for Kat. Though halfway through the book I was kind of fed up with her whole adventure of finding “mr right”. Then things started to feel rushed towards the end of the book and I couldn’t keep up. Overall I did enjoy some parts of the book like the side characters!!
I just wanna say thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for providing me this arc 🙏🏾

After being dumped by her most recent boyfriend and given his pet hedgehog to look after as he goes off to act on a dating show, florist Kat Kowalski is done chasing Mr. Wrong and has decided to pursue Mr. Right, aka, a guy who is the exact opposite of what she goes for. Then she meets Mick O’Sullivan after a not so meet cute involving a corpse and a foul mouthed cockatoo at his family’s funeral home. They instantly connect but Kat’s warning signs go off and despite how sweet and charming he is, she knows she can’t trust herself because she’s lusting after him, instead she sets her sights on his brother Joe, a upright, blunt, and professional guy who checks off all the marks for her Mr. Right... the only issue is that they have no chemistry whatsoever. Meanwhile Kat has made it clear she only wants to be friends with Mick yet every time he’s around she finds her heart beating faster but she has doubts. She doesn’t want to follow her heart but the more she gets to know him the more the lines blur... and maybe Mick is the one for her. Since Mick’s family business and Kat’s business are going into a contract together, she’ll have to figure out if she wants to mix professional with personal... and if she’s going after the right brother. This gave me serious Beauty and the Briefcase ( yes the Lizzie McGuire movie) vibes. The book started off really cute but it kind of fell off at the end for me, because Kat kept coming up with excuses and ways to blame and get mad at Mick. She says he never fought for her but my guy was trying to do everything to make her happy, doing exactly what she said and was following the rules she laid out. Their make up and resolution to their break up was meh at best after everything and I felt like they really needed to work it out more to have a more satisfactory resolution and reconiliation. Overall, it was a cute romance read.

Loved this fun, easy read about Kat and Mick. This is a serious SLOW burn and totally worth the wait!

Super cute friends to lovers romance. Surprisingly quick read for a slow burn. I usually start to dip half way through, but this kept me interested with the UK setting. I am truly digging the recent run of books involving funeral homes/staff. I'll definitely check out other work by Melonie Johnson.

One of my favorite authors, once again hits out of the park, loved this story. A full selection of trust issues, second guesses and finally finding the correct pathway to the anticipated end. I read some other reviews before starting this and wondered if something had changed, but not so, this read is great and JoJo is a wonderful addition to the pet linage included in this series. Grab this and enjoy.

Thank You so much for allowing me to read the ARC of this book .
Some of the highlights for me is that
- UK location
- Dual POV
- friends to lovers
- slow burn

This book gives us lots of self growth with the two characters that I enjoyed reading play out.

Tropes: strangers to lovers and friends to lovers

I was immediately drawn to this book because of its gorgeous cover but unfortunately, I found myself over the characters and the conflict halfway in. When we meet Kat, she has recently been dumped and has sworn off the typical guys she’s dated in hopes of finding Mr. Right. Enter Mick, who Kat meets in a meet cute straight out of a movie. Kat and Mick have instant chemistry but Kat believes that Mick is too her “old” type and instead convinces herself to pursue Mick’s brother which creates such a strange dynamic that I couldn’t get on board with.

The first half of this book was so fun but Kat’s pursuit of Mr. Right quickly became tedious for me. The third act break up felt so abrupt on Kat’s part and by that point I was no longer rooting for Kat and Mick as a couple.

2.5 stars

I loved this friends to lovers book. It was a quick read for me but a very sweet one. I enjoyed the characters interactions but wished the storyline was a little deeper.

This was my first read from this author!! A fun, quick friends-to-lovers vibe with all the rom-com energy as WELL as a cute little hedgehog and a parrot.

I wish the two main characters were developed a little deeper. I wanted to leave the story a little more invested in the two of them, but the story as a whole was enjoyable with a solid meet cute.

Thank you to NetGalley, Melonie Johnson, and the publisher for a an early copy in exchange for an honest review.

I can eat up a sweet, friends to lovers trope and I thought this book was written well. I liked the humor, the crochet penis in chapter one had me laughing out loud. However, something about the story just felt off to me. The characters, while I enjoyed them, felt a little underwhelming/underdeveloped for my taste and it was harder to stay interested in. That being said, it was still a nice story.

After her boyfriend of 6 months flees the country to pursue his acting career, Kat, finds herself single again as her friends' romantic lives move forward. She makes a floral delivery to a funeral home, where she has a meet cute with Mick, one of the owners. After always being attracted to the wrong guys, Kat friend zones Mick, while striking up a business deal with him and his sister Mary Kate and brother Joe. While determining whether her vibe with Mick is friendly or romantic, Kat also considers a romantic relationship with the safer brother, Joe.

Such a cute rom-com! Mick and Kat have such great chemistry, but this is a slow burn where friends question whether or not there is a romantic spark and if so, if the other friend feels it too. Despite the setting frequently revolving around a funeral home, and thus death, the story has a lot of fun chemistry and banter. Would definitely recommend

- Rom Com
- Friends to Lovers
- Slow burn

Sadly this book just didn't quite hit the mark for me. Isimply found that I couldn't connect to the characters which made it hard to stay involved and interested as the story progressed.
However, they author's writing style was wonderful and I fully enjoyed the humor .

Too Wrong to Be Right is a charming and sweet friends-to-lovers. It will give you all the feels and you will have a great time following Mick and Kat around.

I got about 20% in and had to put it down. It just seemed slow and neither of the main characters seemed to be very interesting to me. I lot of it was too cliche for me.

Melonie Johnson is a MUST read and must buy for me! I've loved her other stories and this was no exception! I had a bit of trouble liking the FMC but I was able to move past that. I love Melonie's writing style and her love stories. I can't wait to keep reading more from this author.

Too Right To be Wrong by Melonie Johnson is the perfect combination of comedy of romance. When Kat gets dumped by her boyfriend, she makes a list of qualities in a guy opposite her type in hopes of finding Mr. Right. Mick helps run the O’Sullivans funeral home and after a chance meeting Kat, enlists her help with a business proposition. It’s attraction at first sight, but Kat knows that he isn’t Mr. Right…or could he be?

I really he enjoyed the dynamic between Kat and Mick. They’re friendship was so enjoyable! The miscommunication trope is always annoying but I see it’s necessity to this story. I do love both character’s grandma’s and pets! The side characters just make for a fun story. Kat is a Rom-com junk in this book and loves romance novels so there’s so many neat references.

The only negative thing I felt was there was some repetitiveness to the story by the end but other than that I was enjoying it the whole way through. It felt like I was reading a Netflix rom-com with the vibe of the movie “The Holidate.” Which is one of my go to Christmas movies, so you can’t go wrong! I believe it’s referenced in this book, too.
