Another exciting episode in the Jack Reacher series! Reacher sure has a way of finding trouble - or trouble finds him. In this one a woman is hit by a bus and killed in Colorado. Reacher thinks she was pushed in front of it and gives chase to the perpetrator. Soon after a man is dead who was a friend of the woman who was killed. Then it's off to the races and it never stops. This investigation jumps from Colorado to a prison in Mississippi where something very suspicious is going on and Reacher is determined to find out what.

When I read one of these Jack Reacher books it is for fun. However, all belief in reality has to be suspended because Reacher is much like a comic superhero. Some of the situations he finds himself in (and gets himself out of) are totally unbelievable. Once you stop being practical, these are just fun reads with an exciting hero. This one had some really evil bad guys who have been getting away with some despicable practices for years.

I've read many books by Lee Child and have enjoyed them all. This one was no different. Fast paced, and easy to follow along with characters I've come to know and love. His books grab you and keep you wanting to read more. I highly recommend this book.

As long as Lee, and now his brother Andrew, continue to write Jack Reacher books I’m there for it. I’ve bought every single installment that comes out, even when I’m lucky enough to get an ARC, as a show of my support. No Plan B just didn’t grab me as much as the books usually do. Usually we can count on non-stop action with Jack and this felt like more of a slow burn. Even when he got to what was really going on in that prison, it was anti-climactic. Every die hard Reacher fan will not miss this upcoming release, as well as start the count down to what Jack will be up to next!

I liked this one much better than the last one. Back to Jack Reacher at his best. Loved all the story lines coming together at the end. Enjoyable, fast=paced read

Great read!!! This has pretty much everything that a reader of the Jack Reacher novels could want. Plenty of plot twists to keep the readers on their toes but not so convoluted that we lost track of what was going on.

And Jed sort of wandered his way into being a great character.

Jack Reacher is an auto read for me. No Plan B was no disappointment. If you’re looking for an action packed read look no further. Ex-military wanderer Jack Reacher walks into town to find a woman jumping in front of a bus. Something’s not right with this scenario and Reacher makes it his personal mission to find all the missing pieces and take down all of the bad guys. This tale is told from multiple perspectives of Reacher, teen runaway Jed, and a mixture of the aforementioned bad guys. Reacher teams up with Hannah Hampton to explore corruption in the prison system Minerva. I enjoyed the ending as justice served.

Every loyal reader of this series knows nobody messes with Jack Reacher - he can take down half a dozen very big, very angry men in the blink of an eye. In this one, he proves he can give MacGyver a run for his skills as well.

The plot has four "legs," if you will - and that made it a little tough for me to follow, at least for the first half or so of the book, just because of the number of characters and switchbacks from one to the other. There's a guy who wants revenge, another looking for a long-lost someone, some very bad guys who don't want to get caught doing what they're doing and, of course, the raison d'etre that puts Reacher, at first inadvertently and then intentionally, in the middle of the whole mess.

The whole thing begins as Reacher sees a man throw a woman under the bus - quite literally - after which he steals her purse and runs. Something Reacher saw seems to have triggered feelings of ill will, so to speak, from some folks who would rather it not be seen - what was there threatens the good thing they want to keep going. Reacher, doing his Reacher thing, smells a rat (and we all know he doesn't react well to threats), so he vows to get to the bottom of it even if it takes him halfway across the country. While this is going on, those other folks begin to converge at the same place - the Minerva Correctional Facility in Winson, Mississippi.

The details, of course, I can't reveal, except to say there's never a dull moment; all points converge at the end, and readers learn what happens to all the people who started off as strangers but end up as, well, you'll have to read it for yourself to find that out. It's fast-paced, fun and another adventure I'm sure Reacher fans will enjoy. I heartily thank the publisher, via NetGalley, for allowing me to read and review a pre-release copy. Well done!

Once the Jack Reacher series went into the hands of Lee Child's son Andrew, I felt that the novels didn't quite get who Reacher is. No Plan B changed my mind. It is Jack Reacher in this novel, which kept my interest throughout. The story is complicated as many bad guys have bad things going on. Until Reacher finds them. The violence that follows is pretty credible until it reaches a prison owned by a group who pass themselves off as modern, profit-driven do-gooders. Then the scenario gets a bit off kilter and credibility takes a hike. But it's interesting to read.
In its entirety, No Plan B is great entertainment.

I was honored to receive an ARC from NetGalley and Random House Publishing-Ballantine. This opinion is my own. Maybe, just maybe not quite as good as his other books but STILL a 4🌟read. I have read each book about Jack Reacher and it may be that this book is not as analytical when it comes to detailing Jack Reacher’s thoughts. This book is more fighting, hand to hand combat, as Reacher uses force to get where he needs to go. And less romance! As always though, it was an adventure.

This book was..fine. If you have read any Reacher book over the last many years you know what you are getting. There is nothing wrong with this book. That being said, I feel like something was off here. Same Reacher but the other plot threads didn't quite resonate this time. Anyway, I am still back on board for the next Reacher adventure and see what Andrew Child will give us next.

Another exciting Jack Reacher thriller and it doesn’t disappoint! Reacher is passing through Colorado and sees what everyone else believes is a suicide. But he knows better and he’s got to find the killer. But there is much more to this crime and to the cabal behind the killer.
This is vintage Reacher, passing through some small town, sees a crime that police won’t do anything about, and decides to investigate with a bit of action adventure.
Lee and Andrew Child have teamed up again and the product is still fantastic.

Jack Reacher, our common man, is portrayed as a real life cross between Captain America and Sherlock Holmes, and he is always there for the common man. Can't wait for the next exciting novel!

I have always enjoyed the ‘Reacher’ stories ~ When I read "Hotel California" a sampler of several novels that would be released in the fall, one of the stories was " No Plan B' which is the last Reacher by author, Lee Child as he will be retiring.. ~ He states he wants to buy a new couch and kick back and read for the rest of his life!
~~ ~ Sounds like my retirement plan ~
BTW: Jack Reacher will still be around as younger brother Andrew Child who has co-authored with Lee Child will continue.

In this story Jack Reacher go to Gerrardsville, Colorado to visit a Civil War Museum but before arriving there he witnessed a woman being hit by a bus. There are two witnesses ~ One see the woman throw herself in front of the bus. The other witness is Reacher who sees someone push her.
Everyone assumes is suicide but Reacher has seen things a bit different!
He sets out to find the truth ~ Thus it begins.
Although not my fav Jack Reacher story, I still enjoyed it!!

It's a typical Reacher book. Even with an extra added author, nothing changes.
Reacher sees a bad, hunts them down "kicking ass and taking names!"
Still.. Sadly, all these stories are the same.
Always a quick and easy read.
Been there and done that.

Combativeness and fisticuffs abound in No Plan B, a viscous novel chock full of bad guys in need of Reacher’s trademark type of justice…the skull cracking kind. Kudos to Lee and Andrew Child for crafting a classic Reacher story that will appeal to die-hard fans and general thriller enthusiasts alike.

Reacher is in Gerradsville, Colorado when he witnesses a man push a woman under a bus. He chases the killer and gets involved in a violent encounter, but the perpetrator gets away. So when the police officially deem the woman’s death a suicide, Reacher can’t sit idly by and starts to investigate on his own. Which puts him on the trail of an evil clandestine operation involving money, power and illegal activities. But Reacher is Reacher, with a sound moral compass and anvils for hands. As he doggedly pursues justice, he leaves a mountain of unconscious lowlifes in his wake and will stop at nothing until the powers that be pay for their actions.

The best part of No Plan B is clearly Reacher’s aggressiveness and truculence, beating the ever-loving crap out of every miscreant and thug with whom he comes into contact. He embodies the philosophy of hitting hard and fast, meeting out unadulterated brutality with velocity and violence to those who stand in his way or earned it due to their malevolent behavior. It’s quite breathtaking to witness and the volume of reprobates he dispatches is beyond impressive. It’s simply Reacher at his best.

However, don’t be fooled into thinking this is just Reacher kicking ass and taking names for 300+ pages. No Plan B has multiple plot lines – a runaway in search of his birth father and a grieving dad looking for those who are responsible for his son’s death – that are seemingly random at first, but serve to keep you guessing until they merge in the end to add depth, intrigue and an emotional connection to the case Reacher is investigating. It’s quite well done.

If No Plan B points to the direction that the Reacher series is heading, then sign me up! I’m ready for more stories like this with Reacher outwitting evildoers while caving in their craniums. Grab your popcorn because it’s about to get real!

Another great Jack Reacher story. Somehow he managed to get himself into trouble with a lot of bad guys! Liked the two intersecting stories (actually a third in there too). Enjoyed Hannah's character. I think he might be getting a bit more violent (kill count was quite high). Lol.

Story arc is complex that keeps the reader guessing until the end! The plot is mysterious and keeps the reader interested and engaged in discovering the solution. There aren’t any edge of the seat, nail biting, electrifying scenarios….. the mystery is the basis for the suspense. A thriller it is not. It is an interesting mystery.

The pacing lags in parts throughout the book. There is scenario after scenario of Reacher’s plans being thwarted. It becomes somewhat redundant and doesn’t move the plot along.
One thread (Jed) took up A LOT of space but wasn’t developed at all and proved to be irrelevant. It is disappointing and frustrating to waste a reader’s time with unnecessary fodder filler. Other characters’ development was weak as well. None were dynamic, multi dimensional. Most were flat. The reader isn’t privy to Jack’s internal dialogue or conscience/ thought processes , so his character isn’t enhanced to any extent, either.

The reveal was long time in coming but it is shocking jaw-dropping doozy! 🙌

Regrettably, the ending is abrupt and the resolution cursory without an epilogue. A bit more effort in the resolution would leave the reader with a better taste for the overall story arc.

Reacher is shocked when the police call it a suicide. Of course, he decides to help find out the truth of everything. He teams up with someone related to the case. There are two side stories as well.

This is actually my first Jack Reacher book. I have watched the movies and the show. My husband has read every book. I really enjoyed this. It's very action packed and detailed. I did find it a bit slow at times. The side stories distracted me and even confused me at times, honestly. I think it's because the characters weren't super developed. I still really enjoyed it. It was fun, action packed, and intriguing. I will be reading more. I definitely recommend it!
