I received this book for an honest review.

Hawk has come home from Afghanistan and other travels along with the baggage of PTSD he is finding his own way of dealing with it. He is along the border when he spots a girl being pulled along by a rope and knowing what will happen he takes matters into his own hands or weapons after saving the girl he finds out that there is a plot to invade the border by many foreign enemies to the U.S. He realizes no in government is taking him seriously and when they do it is too late. He decides to organize his own response with veterans, special forces vets, and also Native Americans who are also wanting to protect their land once again.
Along the way, Hawk does find a love interest which was a nice part of the story and for the rest of the action, I found a lot of it to be more possible than what people think. We have deactivated the Marines Armor divisions that used to be in Twenty Nine Palms, the only Armor Divisions are in Texas, and like many Divisions, it all takes time for them to deploy. The only two full Divisions I know of that can deploy are the 82 Airbourne which some are out of the country and the 101st the rest have either been cut by numbers or by funds, Unless you have commanders acting without orders this could happen to accept for certain bases where they will fight because they have ammo or at least they used to when I went around with my father to them. This book was full of action and will keep you interested from the beginning to the end. If you are not into this then don’t read it. I a very good book.

The Killer Half by JB Blake.
His naïveté about the purpose for the war in Afghanistan was gone. Witnessing the death of someone he was close to was the final blow that shattered his spirit. Hawk declined reenlistment and went home brokenhearted only to find another war beginning. Would he always be just a cog in a combat machine? Would Hawk become a warrior again? In a chance fight with a border-crossing scouting party, Hawk discovers a plan for an armed invasion of America. All of his combat instincts return. Using all of his special operations contacts, he organizes a resistance. Will the resistance succeed? Will he find love again? If Hawk is torn between combat and love, which would win, the killer half, or a man who could truly love?
A good read. Good story and plot. 4*.
