Ugh, the one that got away! I love this trope. I basically melted into a puddle of goo while reading this.. Definately recommend.

This book may have won me over to second chance romance. I think it was because it was simultaneously a rivals to lovers story, and that aspect really carried the plot. I prefer my romance novels to have some sort of external hijinks, and this one 100% delivered on that. Would recommend for fans of The Ex Talk.

A perfectly ok book. The plot didn’t really move while and the romance felt undercooked. Dialogue did have some crackle to it, but all in all it just didn’t hit me

Just My Type by Falon Ballard is a delightful and humorous romantic comedy that is a perfect fit for readers who adore lighthearted, emotional, and funny stories about second chance romance, workplace romance, and enemies-to-lovers tropes, with a strong focus on the ups and downs of relationships and the power of embracing one's true self.

Just My Type is a second chance romance, office rivals. The chemistry between the two main characters are undeniable. While she's supposed to write about being single he on the other hand is writing about becoming boyfriend material. The book is a cute and if you know me I love a good office romance story.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with a better character growth. When we first met Lana, she is insecure and doesn’t know who she is, which is so relatable but when you start to see her growth you just fall in love with her.
I loved the plot, I loved the setting, I loved the characters.
And THE ROMANCE?? It was amazing, the chemistry and banter between lana and seth??? *chefs kisses”
I think this is a VERY solid second chance romance with amazing LA vibes, I really was imagining this as a romcom so just know it is really good!
ALSO EXTRA POINTS BECAUSE THIS GOT ME OUT OF A READING SLUMP!!!

Is the fun romance with characters that have personal issues and it’s highly entertaining. I like the interaction between the main characters and how they deal with their personal issues while falling for one another.

I mean the concept of this book is interesting, but them as a couple just made me ick. Not in the way that he gave me the ick. I just think the communication was awful between them and he maybe hoped to much that telepathically he would let Lana know about his feelings.
I just didn't love this and didn't passionately hate it. I am indifferent.

Thank you Putman and Netgalley for this arc! I love Fallon Ballard! She rights the perfect easy romcom and I can’t get enough and Just My Type was no different. I loved how quick this read was but I didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything! Such a good read!

Truly is a reimagining of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and I AM HERE FOR IT! It's all about growing, learning who you are and what you want out of life, and learning how to trust yourself getting there. I loved this story but even more I loved the examination of friedships and work dynamics. Great Story!
4/5 stars!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an e-arc of this book.

Unfortunately this book was archived before I could read and review it! But I look forward to reading it anyway! The plot sounds just up my alley!

Well, this fell flat for me. It was not a book I really fell in love with. Character Ms needed more for me to love.

I have just not had a good sweet romance book that I really obsess over. This was well written and my first one by Falon, definitely a cute one. Just not my speed.

This book started out incredibly strong. The first few pages had me fully hooked and ready to give it an automatic 5 stars. By around the 50% mark, the story got very repetitive and the female main character, Lana, was just so insufferable and an unbearable asshole that it was hard to push through it.
By the end, it had turned a little back around. I think the book really could’ve benefitted from being dual POV and making Lana not be in such hardcore denial about every single facet of her life.

Absolutely adorable and fast-moving. Cute characters, and some cute tension in the plot. These lovers-to-enemies plots often feel silly — but this felt solid.

The growth! The tension! The journalism!
This second chance, rivals to lovers story was full of competition, intense challenges and lovely self introspection.
Falon Ballard is now an auto-buy author for me!
Definitely pick up this LA-set romantic romp!!

I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

Lana Parker has been in one relationship after another pretty much since she was fourteen. So when her boyfriend of four years dumps her on the night she thought he was going to propose, Lana and everyone around her sees it as an opportunity to find herself. Her very single self. Should be easy, right? Enter Seth Carson, Lana’s first love. He’s back in her life and at her workplace, and it’s hard to deny that their past is strictly in their past. As the competition between them heats up, so do their feelings. But both Lana and Seth will have to decide what is more important – their hearts or their careers. It took me all of three pages to know I was going to love Lana. Ballard infuses her with personality right from the very beginning, and that tenacity and emotion carries her through the entire book. As a character, I found Lana to be very easy to understand; she’s a serial dater who hates being single, she feels stuck in her current role at work, and she makes so many nerdy, Marvel references. It’s hard not to like her. But it’s hard not to like her ex, Seth, too. He enters the picture as Enemy #1, the one who broke Lana’s heart all those years ago. But as the competition between them rolls out, it’s hard to ignore the little hints that Seth isn’t the big, bad heartbreaker that Lana pictures. As the plot progresses, it’s hard not to root for them to find love with each other again. I love a good second-chance romance, and this one came across as being especially drama-free compared to other romances I’ve read. Ballard did an excellent job at building the tension and history between Seth and Lana without resorting to big blow ups or public scenes. I loved the quiet competition between them; in order to win, they had to be better than the other but also better than their past selves.
With seemingly opposite end goals – Lana had to learn to not immediately jump headfirst into a new relationship, and Seth had to learn how to put the one night stands behind him and commit – most of their challenges were cause for internal struggle more than anything else. Of course, once we get through the misunderstandings and miscommunication, both main characters do find their happily ever after. I loved the antics both characters got up to, but the action would’ve been nothing without such well done, relatable characters. Seth, with his self-sacrificing love, was the perfect person for Lana, and I loved them both individually and as a unit. Whether fighting or making up, Lana and Seth made Just My Type a fun and entertaining second-chance romance.

I’m not always huge on second chance romances, but I enjoyed this one! There’s plenty of banter and sparks to keep things fun while reading without being overkill. The task lists were delightful and I loved how Lana was able to grow personally and professionally throughout the book.

I loved this book. It was fun and funny and cute and heartbreaking and real and organized. I made friends with the characters and I miss them
