Once Upon A Royal by Christmas Teri Wilson is a cute fairy tale romance that is light and fluffy and perfect for anyone who enjoys Hallmark Christmas movies.

Story Recap:
Gracie is a party princess. She owns a small business, where she and her employees, dress up as princesses and other characters for parties, openings, etc. Her Princess name is Princess Snowflake. She’s trying to get a loan to hire more full-time employees, but the bank keeps turning her down. So her best friend enters her into a contest, and the winner helps the Royal Family of San Glacera host their winter festival and wins $30k, the exact amount Grace needs to help her business grow.

When Gracie arrives in San Glacera, she meets Prince Nikolas, she doesn’t realize he is the prince, and he thinks she’s a real princess. Prince Nikolas escorts her to many of the events planned for the winter festival, and feeling starts between them. But, Gracie has her business in the US, and Nikolas must stay in San Glacera.

My Thoughts:
Once upon a Christmas is escapism, pure and simple. It’s light, fluffy, and predictable, but also very comforting and entertaining. I enjoyed all the characters, especially her best friend Cara. I liked that the main character has the job of being a princess, it sounds like fun. Also, Nickolas has a sweet little dog named Mittens, a King Charles spaniel, who practically steals the show.

These characters are fun and interesting, and just a bit predictable. But, that’s what I love about a romance book like this one, where the predictability is so comforting.

One of my issues with books featuring royalty is the thought of a prince coming in and “saving” the poor commoner women, like Cinderella. But, in this book, you’ll find a spirited and self-sufficient heroine, who doesn’t really need saving.

Recommendation:
I highly recommend Once Upon a Christmas to anyone who enjoys romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

What is not to love about this book? If you love romance, royalty, Christmas traditions and playful flirting, you won’t put this down. Grace is a girl-boss, operating Perfect Party Princesses and even stars as Princess Snowflake. When her best friend enters her in a contest, she is sent to San Glacera - a snowy wonderland of a small country. It’s there that she meets Prince Nicolas, who has a beastly reputation and a heart of gold. And it all starts with a hot chocolate! Great characters, a beautiful setting and a heart-warming story.

I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing. All views are my own.

When it comes to holiday romance, no one does it better than Hallmark. And with Hallmark publishing at the helm of this book, expectations…met.

The concept of a royal contest winner to help bring tourists to the small country of San Glacera was genius, even though Prince Nick thought it was asinine. But when he meets Princess Snowflake’s real life persona, Gracie, it seems fate has other ideas for him. Their connection is almost instantaneous & their apparent mistaken identity isn’t enough to snuff the chemistry these two possess. Their affinity for being caught in candid photo shots appearing to be besotted should’ve been proof enough. I loved watching Nick not only accept Gracie’s make believe persona but embrace it & treasure it all while falling for her. The way that Gracie took the time and paid attention to see the true Crown Prince Nicolas Luca Montavan was exactly what he needed. He needed someone to see him & not just assume who he is by what the press reported.

Overall, I absolutely adored this Christmas romantic story & I’m absolutely on board if y’all want to make this into a movie.

Gracie Clark owns a party princess business, and she wants to expand her business, but none of the banks will give her a business loan. Her business has grown a lot, when she goes to an event as Princess Snowflake, she interacts with the children and the adults.
Her best friend, enters her in a contest, that the winner will fly to San Glacera and help them put on shows for the Christmas season. They rely on tourist, which has been declining, and also will receive $30,000.00. Gracie wins the contest, and her and her best friend, fly to San Glacera.
Prince Nick didn't know anything about the contest and thought it was below their dignity. When Gracie and Prince Nick, met for the first time, they each think the other person is someone else. When they discover who the other really is, we find out if Princess Snowflake, can dazzle Prince Nick. Each night, Princess Snowflake is putting on a show, that does bring in the tourist. Even the King and Queen connect with her.
This is a magical story, that has a hint of princess fairy dust, the goals they have, and then there is what life gives them.
I received an ARC from Hallmark Publishing through NetGalley.

I truly enjoyed reading this charming book. It's a heartwarming Christmas romance.
I loved the chemistry between
Gracie & Nick. I was enchanted from the very first page, wanting to know what happens next. Wonderful characters.
Gracie, won a contest the she
would portray the character she
created, Princess Snowflake.
She would travel to the country
of San Glacera. Gracie, would
be part of their Christmas Ice
Village Festival. While spending time at the town's Christmas Market, she meet the most handsome man, who shared
some of the highlights of the
Festival. When she returned to
her room, Gracie, was floating
on air.
🎄 A MUST READ!! 🎄

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Another royal romance. Seriously there can never be enough of them so keep them coming. This book was one of the best reads of my year. Teri Wilson is definitely one of the best when it comes to penning a royal romance and you won't be disappointed in this, trust me.

Prince Nick has a problem. For one, his face is plastered all over the news. That's bad enough. But his problem is with his family and their newly developed hair brained idea. In order to increase tourism, they have opted to invite a commoner to win a trip to the palace to take part in all of the Christmas traditions. Bringing a commoner into his home is one thing...but this person is completely ridiculous. She's a party princess. She wears over the top gowns and a crown as fake as his excitement of this whole idea.

This was a fun holiday read that you definitely need to pick up. There were so many laugh out loud moments that I was constantly smiling.

This book is appropriate for all ages.

PERFECTLY FINE HOLIDAY ROMANCE

I am a big Hallmark Christmas movie fan. I like the cheesiness, the predictability, the romance and the Christmas vibes. And even though this book was actually published by Hallmark, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. It was perfectly fine, but also forgettable.

"No wonder San Glacera's castle looked like it belonged in a fairy tale. A beast lived there."

👍 What I Liked 👍

Hallmark: Hallmark is fluffy, light and predictable. Just like this book. And that's exactly what I want from my holiday romance novels.

👎 What I Disliked 👎

Cheesy: While I usually like cheesy, this was just over the top. Especially how each chapter ended with a quote like the one above. It was simply too tasteless for me.

Pace: This story might have been better if it wasn't so rushed. Many of the scenes felt unfinished and the relationship between Nikolas and Gracie felt forced and rushed.

Gracie Clark owns a party princess company and loves delighting children at events as Princess Snowflake. When her best friend and coworker, Clara, enters her into a competition to participate in San Glacera's annual Ice Village Festival, she never thinks that she will be chosen as the winner. On the other side of the world, San Glacera's Prince Nicolas has extreme doubts about this contest. His little sister, Princess Emilie, came up with the idea to help attract more tourists to their small country but he can't get past the idea that a grown woman makes a living by playing dress-up. Can Gracie change the grumpy prince's mind when they finally meet?

This is the perfect Hallmark Christmas story. It was like cuddling up on a cold snowy morning with fuzzy socks, blankets, and a warm cup of hot cocoa. It has everything you could want in a grumpy/sunshine story with wholesome characters and warm, fuzzy moments. It was a great light read perfect for when you need something sweet and heartwarming!

Thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for the ARC!

Another charming Christmas tale from Teri Wilson! Once Upon a Royal Christmas left me with a smile on my face and ready to celebrate the Christmas season.

I loved the characters! There is really nothing better than a grumpy prince and a sunshine "commoner" to set up for a perfect royal romance.

The setting was gorgeous! I wish so badly that San Glacera was a real place because I would be adding it to my vacation bucket list immediately.

I envisioned this entire story in my head as a Countdown to Christmas Hallmark movie and I hope to see it on the screen one day!

Even though I converted to Judaism a few years ago, the magic of the holiday season isn’t lost on me, and a spent enough hours watching Hallmark Christmas movies with my mother to appreciate and groan (at the same time!) at them. This seasonal romance direct from Hallmark publishing reads a bit like a script turned to a novel and has so much descriptive detail it reads like it’s intended for a set decorator and prop master.

Grumpy Prince Nikolas will do anything to save his tiny country and bring in dollars and goes along with his family’s contest to augment their holiday tourism business. Gracie, a party princess who dresses up for sick children and birthday parties, is the winner of the contest, the grand prize of which is just enough money to move her business from her home to an office and provide benefits for her staff of princesses for hire. An identity mix-up ensues, where Grace assumes Nik is the hired fake prince, and he assumes she is a real princess brought in to see if she is marriage material. Lots of wintery events, hot cocoa and so!much!glitter! follow. Some depth is added with Gracie’s vocal trauma to overcome, and color with supporting characters, like Nik’s cool little sister and best friend/staff member.

The romance is sweet and clean and I will be shocked if it’s not already in production for this year or next. If you have skipped decorative gourd and pumpkin spice season and your tree is already up, this is a book for you–it was not my cup of cocoa, er, tea.

Teri Wilson, you melted my heart with this wonderfully romantic story! Once Upon a Royal Christmas is utterly enchanting, THE perfect heartwarming holiday love story! Gracie and Nick were engaging and charming and wonderful, and I was pretty much a puddle by the end!

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

I can definitely see this as a Hallmark worthy book and I love the royal theme.

Nick the grumpy prince meets the Snow princess and they find they have a lot of things in common but will their status as commoner and prince prevent them from a relationship?

Thank you Hallmark and NetGalley for this ARC.
This was the perfect fairytale story. I really loved the setting. I could visualise the characters and could imagine this being developed into a movie. A perfect lighthearted Christmas read.

Are you ready to snuggle up with a cup of hot cocoa *wink*, with a warm fluffy blanket near a cozy fire? Do you love watching those feel-good romances near Christmas? This story, Once Upon A Royal Christmas by Teri Wilson, is everything you want in a feel-good, sweet Christmas romance and more.

Tropes include a prince, mistaken identity, forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine, and more that will warm your heart and set you in the Christmas mood.

Prince Nikolas is considered ridged, grumpy and thought all-around no fun. His family gangs up on him and plans a contest where he isn't sure it will help or annoy him.

Gracie is all the fun, playing a princess and making sure every person she interacts with feels seen and taken care of. She has big dreams for her company and employees that she is willing to stand up and fight for, even in a crown.

They find common ground and someone to spar verbally with, even from different worlds making this story all the more fun. If you are looking for a sign, this is it. GET this book to enjoy your Hot cocoa and dig into this sweet royal Christmas.

I enjoyed this fun and enchanting story. Can a party owner who dresses as a princess for children's parties, end up with a real life prince? When the chance to earn money to keep her business running, Gracie can's turn down the opportunity. Let the fun begin! Great characters and a perfect "Hallmark" feel to the story.

True to every Halmark romance, either book or tv show or movie, Once Upon A Royal Christmas fits right in. It utilizes magic and love, and a bit of holiday cheer - actually, make that a lot of holiday cheer - to bring this fabulous story to life. Though it has its cheesy moments I adore a good bit of cheese once in a while so this is right up my alley. Fun, fancy, and definitely funny are all key parts of this story of love and Christmas.

There’s nothing better than a Christmas royal romance and Once Upon a Royal Christmas does not disappoint! Gracie is a fantastic female lead for the story and Princess Snowflake (her princess alter ego) is as fabulous as she is kind. Prince Nick is damaged yes but he’s still sweet and kind and just needs someone to bring him out of his shell. The accompanying side characters of Ingrid, Clara, Alana, Jaron and Emile are brilliant and play a role in bringing our two love birds together.

This was a sweet easy read - I devoured it in less than a day and is perfect for the run up to Christmas 💛

Thank you to the author and netgalley for my review copy!

Once Upon a Royal Christmas is an adorable Christmas story from Hallmark. It has all the right ingredients: a royal prince, a pretend princess, a small European kingdom, and a happily ever after—good spirit of Christmas vibes.

Another delightful story from Teri Wilson!

This was just the light and sweet read that I was hoping it would be. This Hallmark Christmas story has all the themes I was looking for in a Royal Christmas story. It was a sweet romance that brings together a royal prince and a woman who dresses up as a princess when she visits children's hospitals. This brings together two very different personalities and the forced proximity of their situation allows them to slowly see a different side to one another and get to know one another. This was a fast and fun read that spreads some Christmas cheer and builds my anticipation for the upcoming holiday season!

Many thanks to Hallmark Publishing and Teri Wilson for an advanced copy of this story. All thoughts are my own.
