Christmas is a time of anticipation and hope. Liesl is hoping for a Christmas proposal. Her beau Wesley has been busy this Christmas season in his family's store. With his father ill and staying with his brother, he feels the weight of the store doing well while his father is recovering. Liesl and Wesley have known each other since they were children and have been courting for several years. They feel comfortable with each other. However, each of them are having expectations of the other that the other cannot fulfill. Hoping to have Wesley make more time for her, she asks her out of town aunt to come work for Wesley during this holiday season. Things get interesting when Jenny arrives to help Wesley. Expectations are a funny thing. Especially in love

Liesl has her own surprises when her good intentions with a widower turn expectations inside out.

A sweet romance that reminds love comes in surprises.

A special thank you to Hallmark Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest revie

Christmas at the Amish Market by Shelley Shepard Gray is a sweet story to read during the holiday season! Wesley and Liesl barely have time to properly court when constantly help others. When Liesl’s Aunt Jenny comes to help in Wesley’s store, everyone’s world is turned upside down with true loves are found. I enjoyed this story and thought it was unique twist on a typical Amish Christmas Romance. I highly recommend Christmas at the Amish Market! Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. My review is also on Goodreads.

I have read several books by Shelley Shepard Gray and this one is my favorite so far. I enjoyed the wonderful characters, Jenny and Wesley, Liesl and Roland. Really enjoyed the book and think you will too

This is a story that we can all probably relate too. We want security in our relationships but we don't always know if we love the person we think we do.

I would love to see this book made into a hallmark Christmas movie. It's a delightful read and the settings are festive.

This is a very sweet and well thought out book. It was such a fun book to read and it was hard to put it down. You know what's going to happen at the end...but the way you get there is a sweet and wonderful journey.

Such a fun book to read and it was hard to put it down. I could tell after the first couple of chapters what was going to happen, but I still had to keep reading to find out.

Thanks to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for the ARC, which I received in exchange for an honest review.

This is a very sweet and well thought out book. Of course you know what's probably going to happen at the end...but the way you get there is wonderful. I couldn't read it fast enough. Great sweet love story.

I enjoy reading Amish stories, and since this was a Christmas story, I was very excited to read it. At Christmas time, it is always great to read a sweet story with a happy ending.

Wesley is responsible for running his family’s Amish Market while his father is recuperating from a health scare. With his extra duties at the market, he doesn’t have much time for his girlfriend Liesl, so Liesl concocts a plan to convince her aunt to come and help out at the market so Wesley will have more time for her. Her plan backfires when Wesley is immediately attracted to Liesl’s aunt Jenny.

The story was a clean romance that seems to fit pretty well with the Hallmark brand. The story was pretty predictable and did move along a little slowly for me, but it was still a fairly enjoyable read. The main characters were likable except for Liesl who was quite selfish and a bit manipulative for the majority of the story. The main thing that I wish was different about this story was the Amish aspect. The author did make a point to say that this Amish community was quite liberal, but if it hadn’t been for the fairly regular use of the word Amish throughout the story, I never would have imagined it to be an Amish story.

Overall, I would recommend the book for anyone who is a Hallmark fan, but not necessarily for fans of Amish fiction.

Wesley is so busy running his family’s Amish market at the holidays, he barely has time for Liesl, the young woman he’s been courting for years. When she suggests her aunt Jenny could help Wesley out, he agrees to the plan. But Liesl neglected to mention her aunt is only twenty-six years old—and as charming as she is hard-working. Jenny and Wesley find themselves being drawn to each other, but how can they when Wesley’s promised to another.

This is not my favorite hallmark book. I’m not a fan of “love triangles” and so that really put a damper on what was a mediocre book at best. Instead of reading this one, go re-read #onceuponaroyalchristmas for those hallmark Christmas feels!

Like all of Shelley Shepard Gray's works, Christmas at the Amish Market is genuine, relatable and true to life. She has a talent for tugging you into the narrative and enticing you to delight in the protagonists, as you follow their journey.
The Christmas subject makes the book an excellent, grand one to read since it captures all the fun and excitement of the holiday season without any of the commercialism and "keeping up with the Jones" difficulties.
As the protagonists attempt to navigate and balance expectations and romance, there are both happy and sorrowful moments, as well as sweet and tense ones.
Family, faith and forgiveness are all themes included in the novel, which I really enjoy, appreciate and value. The simple, frugal way of Amish life also appeals to me. But I don't think I could handle living it!
Gray also includes a recipe for Cincinnati Chili at the end of the book that looks delicious. I plan to make it soon!

A fun Amish Christmas romance. The book is published by Hallmark, so when you are in the mood for a classic Hallmark romance, this is a great one to pick up. The love triangle was awkward throughout the entire novel, but each character was able to work out their true feelings for a heart warming ending.

Christmas at the Amish Market is a delightful story of the right people meeting, and falling in love at perhaps the worst time ever… or is it?

When Liesl suggested that her Aunt Jenny come help out at the store where her longtime beau, Wesley, is tending while his father is recovering from a health scare none of them expect the results of that decision. Now, two people who are absolutely right for each other in all ways possible face an impossible situation for Jenny will not come between her niece and the man she’s always been expected to marry simply for her own dreams to come true. But everything isn’t quite as it seems on the surface, and Liesl may have a few surprises for this couple along the way.

I enjoyed Christmas at the Amish Market so much. It’s everything I expect from this author, heartwarming, realistic, and characters who will tug at my heart for often far different reasons. Frankly, this is a story that could be set at any time of the year, so if you only read “Christmas Romances” at Christmastime, please set aside that idea and dive into a really good story full of love, misunderstandings, good intentions, reality checks, and a couple’s path to a love that could last a lifetime.

Loved this book! As someone who grew up near Lancaster County, PA, where horses and buggies are a common sighting, I appreciated the attention to detail and accuracy this book portrayed. It had me longing for fry pies and freshly churned butter. The setting is sheer perfection and the characters were so relatable that they felt like people I knew in real life.

"Christmas at the Amish Market" by Shelley Shepard Gray is a heartwarming story set in the festive season. The book revolves around the lives of four young Amish people and their quest for love. The central setting of the story is the bustling Amish market, where Wesley is running his family's business and barely has time for Liesl, the young woman he's been courting for years.

When Liesl suggests her aunt Jenny come to help Wesley at the market, he agrees. However, what Liesl fails to mention is that her aunt is only twenty-six years old and incredibly charming. Jenny, still healing from a painful breakup, welcomes the distraction of working at the market and soon realizes that Wesley is everything she ever dreamed a man could be. Meanwhile, Liesl's own feelings are more complex than she's willing to admit.

The story is filled with humor, faith, and a little help from friends in the community. The author's writing style brings the characters to life and makes readers feel like they are part of the story. With its charming setting, touching romance, and holiday spirit, "Christmas at the Amish Market" is the perfect book to cozy up with this festive season.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Jenny and Wesley. Wesley is the manager of the family Christmas market. His father has been sick and his parents went to him brother’s house in Kentucky. Wesley needs help. Liesl, who is the girl Wesley is dating, wants to help him. She calls her aunt, who has the whole month off from employment and asks her to come help Wesley. She does come and is an immediately a great help. There is an instant attraction. They have some trouble but eventually they declare their love for one another.

Raber’s Amish Market is a busy place, but especially at Christmastime. Wesley was busier this year because his father is in the hospital. Wesley’s girlfriend Liesl wants to have fun and doesn’t understand why he can’t talk to her when she stops by the Market. She had hoped that this was the year he would propose. She comes up with a solution that will help out a friend’s family and Wesley. It would be perfect. There is a big surprise for both Wesley and Liesl when her friend comes to town.

I could see this being made into a sweet Hallmark movie. It has all the earmarks to help you get into the Christmas season. Of course, it has a happy ending and a recipe for Cincinnati-Style Chili. It’s a win-win for everyone.
