Wesley and his family own the Christmas shop in town. When an unexpected health scare sends his parents out of state, Wesley is forced to carry the burden of managing the shop by himself during their busiest time of the year. His girlfriend Liesl is miffed that Wesley appears to put the store above her, so she calls her aunt Jenny to come help Wesley. Witness Wesley's surprise when Jenny is just a young person like himself. When Jenny and Wesley start falling in love, how does Liesl react?

My thoughts: CHRISTMAS AT THE AMISH MARKET is one of Ms. Gray's recent novels. I enjoyed getting to know Jenny, Liesl, Roland, and Wesley in this more liberal Amish setting. There are two romances as a niece and aunt struggle to find their place in this world. Wesley has a lot of stress and I'm still not sure what his future holds. I enjoyed getting to know these characters. There is little to no sexual tension and little to no faith message. This will make an awesome gift for the Amish fan in your life. Recommended. I was given a copy free and all opinions are my own.

This was such a sweet Amish Romance! Add in the magic of the holiday and it was a fantastic read!!
Liesl and Wesley are a young Amish couple that have been courting for a while. When Wesley's dad falls ill he has to take over work at their store leaving little time for his relationship. Liesl suggests her aunt Jenny helping out at the store to give the young couple more time together. This set in to motion...the happily ever afters, but maybe not the ones they were expecting!
Would recommend this book to lovers of Amish romance!
I received an arc of this book in exchange for a honest review. I would like to thank netgalley, the author Shelley Shepard Gray, and the publisher for the opportunity to review this book!

There’s a big dollop of Christmas magic in Shelley Shepard Gray’s newest Amish romance.

I really enjoyed getting to know Liesl, Wesley, Jenny, and Roland, seeing their feelings deepen and their connections develop. There’s an earnestness to their interactions that is so compelling, drawing the reader in as they struggle to come to terms with some difficult decisions.

Christmas at the Amish Market has that Hallmark feel, and while it may be predictable from start to finish that doesn’t mean the journey isn’t enjoyable.  It’s got a feeling of innocence, emotion, and holiday cheer that makes it a perfect choice for a December read.

Any story by Shelley Shepard Gray will be a good one and this is no exception! Such a sweet love story! You are left turning the pages to find out how it will end. At first, you think one thing will happen and it completely changes. It’s great and I highly recommend the book for an easy. Christmas read!

Right from the start everything drew me into this story, from the beautifully designed cover to the Christmassy vibe of the book.
A fun Amish Christmas book full of romance and surprises.
Liesl and Wesley have been courting for years, everyone expects them to marry, and they expect it will happen as well. Wesley helps his family to run their Amish Market, it keeps him and his family overwhelmingly busy and tired.
To help Wesley out Liesl suggests her young aunt out at the market. Aunt Jenny fresh from a breakup helps and it takes her mind off of things.
I have read so many of this author's books over the years, she has quite a few and they are all equally amazing. She truly writes from the heart and brings these characters to life. Not everything is wonderful all the time but it's realistic and the characters talk things out and offer each other compassion, forgiveness and love.
Realistic daily Amish life is what you'll find in this book. Surprises along the way offer up joy and a chance at a new beginning. An inspiring book full of hope and family values.

I always enjoying reading Christmas books around this time of the year. This was a great Christmas read with family traditions. All four characters were great but Jenny ended up being my favorite. This book has love, Christmas, faith and prosperity in one.

Liesl and Wesley have been dating for years. However, circumstances change once Wesley has to run the family business. Hoping to help, Liesl suggests that her aunt come to assist him. When feelings start to change, will Liesl and Wesley really find out that they are a match? Or will their happily ever after be shattered? I love how the author had the characters exploring their true feelings. I really enjoyed the storyline. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.

A really lovely Christmassy read. A great cast of characters with a lovely setting. It left me with a really warm glow - just the kind of book to snuggle up with on a dark evening.

This is a Clean Amish Christmas Romance. I found this book to be very weird and slow moving. Liesl is courting Wesley in this book, but she thinks she has feelings for someone else. Wesley starts to have feelings for someone else too. I feel the emotional cheating is the same as real cheating, and this book has a lot of emotional cheating going on. I just did not connect with the characters. I am not saying this is a bad book, but I do not think it was a great book for me. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Hallmark Publishing) or author (Shelley Shepard Gray) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Christmas at the Amish Market by Shelley Shepard Gray is a heartwarming tale. I was immediately drawn into the story. I like the author’s engaging writing style. It is friendly and casual. I enjoyed getting to know Wesley, Liesl, Jenny, Roland, and little Lilly. It does take time to like Liesl (if you look up self-centered in the dictionary, you will see a picture of her). Wesley and Liesl have been courting for some time. Liesl believes Wesley is the right man for her and is hoping he will propose at Christmas. Wesley has not had much time to spend with Liesl since his father has his heart attack. Wesley wants to make sure the market is a success in his father’s absence. One man cannot run a bustling market on his own. Liesl asks her Aunt Jenny who is only a couple of years older than Liesl to come work at the market. When Liesl is not working, she is helping widower Roland and his daughter, Lilly. As you can tell, It is going to be an eventful December for this group. I enjoyed the descriptions of the Pinery Christmas event. It is a place I would love to visit during the holiday season. I like how everything tied together and the ending left me smiling. There is drama, romance, humor, faith, and Christmas spirit in this entertaining story. Christmas at the Amish Market is cheery Christmas tale with a demanding market, long lines, a darling Lilly, courting difficulties, an attractive aunt, tempting mistletoe, and a happy holiday.

Wesley is running his family’s Amish market alone and it is Christmas — a busy, profitable time. No time to court properly but Liesl suggests he hire her Aunt Jenny to help in hopes she can spend more time with Wesley. She forgets to tell him that her “aunt” is only 26.

Jenny is visiting Liesl’s family in hopes it will make a painful breakup better. She hardly expected a job to introduce a man into her life. AND … a man that her niece was courting. And that’s where things get complicated for all involved.

My review …
A Hallmark Movie in a book! What an enjoyable Christmas story! Kindle readers will have a treat with Christmas red chapter headings and a drop cap opening the first paragraphs. (A drop cap is a large letter starting all “My review” segments. The red “A” on this review is the same color as the barn.)

Okay, the story is a bit predictable but who cares if it is an enjoyable read? What’s not mentioned in the description above is Wesley’s father who ran the store HIS way. But while visiting family, he had a heart attack so Wesley is trying to handle business all by himself. Of course, ahem … with a father who tells him what to do every time they talk by phone like Wesley had not worked there since childhood.

Then Aunt Jenny arrives. You’ll like her. You’ll like Liesl too. This is a “nice” story with “nice” characters. Well, except for some customers who think their time is far more important than anyone else’s.

So grab a cup of hot chocolate, your favorite furry friend or friends, a fleece or velour lap blanket, and snuggle down for a "wunderbar" Christmas read.

Well developed characters offer a few twists and turns you won’t expect, all while trying to find their true love. With life situations affecting decisions and wishes, they’ll find out the person they expected to end up with just might not be the right one for them.

Lots of Christmas feelings along with holiday fun make this a recommended read.

Amish couple Wesley and Liesl have been engaged for five long years. Their relationship has stalled. But that's about to change. Sweet story.

Christmas at the Amish Market by Shelley Shepard Gray is a feel good, get you in the spirit book. Yes, it's a predictable Amish love story but sometimes predictability is a good thing. I love chocolate cake so I always want it to taste the same. I'm disappointed when the taste is different. Added ingredients can compliment the taste but the basic recipe is there. Gray gives us comfort with a few little twists and turns thrown in!

An enjoyable Christmas romance, perfect for getting into the holiday spirit. A clean, sweet romance, relatable characters, Christmas, set within the Amish community, just an overall wonderful read. I have already added this to the list of books to buy for my mom, she absolutely loves Shelley Shepard Gray and Amish romance novels.

Christmas at the Amish Market is a sweet Hallmark story by Shelley Shepard Gray. Wesley and Liesl are a couple but are they? Both become confused then there are Roland and Jenny to consider along with sweet four year old Lilly. These four are having such a time with their emotions and the relationships at the most jam-packed season of the year. What happens this Christmas Season is full of faith, the Lord’s guidance, and some humor.

The story flows so smoothly I felt as if I was right there with the characters. Of course, I wanted them to see who belonged with whom in this wonderful tale of “finding the one.” The characters are genuine and engaging so that I couldn’t help but keep reading to see how and when they discovered it too.

Christmas at the Amish Market is a lovely story that will take your heart back to the true significance of Christmas while reminding you of the wonderful joy found also when you fall in love. One of the sweetest Christmas stores I have read.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
