I am currently looking for books that I could add to my niece's collection.

The illustrations are very pretty. My issue with them is that the cover and the pages inside the book do not look like they go together. The cover is very bright and the inside pages are more muted. I definitely like the inside pages more.

I really like that the words are on one side of the page and the photos are on the other.

A sweet little story about a Llama who wanders away from the farm, and a young lamb follows him. Whilst this is a religious book, it does not have any reference to the Bible thr3the story, just in a verse at the end. It's good for teaching children what to do if they have wandered off and got lost. I'm not sure the story would be captivating enough to hold a child's attention, however if it does then it is a sweet and useful story.

This was very long and not interesting enough to sustain the attention of younger children. The illustrations were fine, but nothing special and the message is very heavy-handed.

Larry the Llama Learns About Love is a nice children's story meant to teach about the Fruit of the Spirit and especially love to children. The illustrations in the book were nice and there was quite a lot of text, yet the story itself wasn't the greatest to me. In the end, the farmer shows up and loves Larry but the story along the way portrays a lot of disobedience, disrespect and other things that are not really dealt with in the story. So this wasn't a book for me.

Larry the Llama is in charge of the baby animals on a farm. When he makes a mistake and Lily the lamb follows him they both end up getting lost. The story is a simple and visual way of showing children when they make a mistake they are still loved and also to stay in one place when lost so that their 'parents' can find them.

The illustrations are engaging and the author has included some questions at the back to explore with your child as well as some facts about Llamas.

Little Larry Llama had a heart full of love, he loved helping others in need, so of course, he took a job to do just that. A delightful-fun-loving story that would captivate both parent and child, it’s funny, enchanting, and cute.

Larry the Llama has been brought to the farm to help the farmer take care of the baby animals around the farm. One day there was a storm that blew down part of the fence. So Larry was walking around and saw the downed fence. So Larry said I wonder what is on the other side of the fence. So he takes a walk. He looks up and Lily the lamb was behind him. He tried to talk her into going back to the farm but she wouldn't go. Then he sees a waterfall and wants a drink. Lily was right there behind him. They keep walking and finally Larry realized that he doesn't know how to get back home. So he tells Lily that they need to stay where they were and make noise and hope that the farmer heard him. While waiting for the farmer Larry realizes that he didn't do a good job of protecting Lily. What if the farmer wants to get rid of him. Well the farmer found him and said he did the right thing by staying in one place.
Cute illustrations. Questions for parents and teachers at the end.

A sweet story about one of my favourite animals!

While a religious book, this story doesn't reference religion and you can choose to read the bible verse at the ned or not. The illustrations are cute and the llama facts and conversation starters at the end of the story are great.

I also liked the references to what you should do if you find yourself separated from, your parents or carers - stay in one place, shout etc. A lovely little read with a good message attached.

What a cute story! I read Larry the Llama Learns About Love to one of the children I work with and he loved it!

I loved how there were questions about the story and fun facts about Llamas at the back of this book! It allowed us to talk about the story and it encouraged some deeper thinking! It would work so great for teachers as well as parents

The illustrations are beautiful and added so much to this cute tale.

Thank you Net Galley for a ARC of this book!

Not quite sure what this has to do with lessons on love, or why it turned into a biblical metaphor, but there you have it.

Not one for me sadly.

A sweet little story about love and how it should look. The characters are cute and the illustrations are fitting. i liked when the farmer came to save them. I felt the story could have had a little more depth.

I really enjoyed this sweet book about a llama and his job on the farm he works at. The story was very simple and not particularly unique but I honestly think that works perfectly when you’re trying to teach kids a message and want that to be the focus vs the story line. The characters in the story didn’t always act perfectly but they showed humility and love for one another and I liked that there was also a lesson in there about the smartest thing to do when you are lost. The discuss questions at the end were a wonderful touch as well, would be great for preschools or church Sunday schools!

“Larry the Llama Learns About Love” is an illustrated book tailored towards young children. I picked it up because it looked cute. The illustrations were cute. As a parent I was rather concerned that Lily the Lamb is allowed to tell her guardian, “No” multiple times & it is simply allowed. While this book is supposed to show love, allowing any child to break rules & tell those in authority “No” multiple times with the responsible party simply ignoring that behavior & that “child” isn’t love at all. Love protects, cherishes, & guides. We see two immature “people”, & the final part where “Larry” learns the farmer loves him because he came looking for him reenforces that Larry didn’t love Lilly because he didn’t look after her.

Thank you, NetGalley for allowing me to review this book.
Larry the llama is supposed to watch over the baby animals on a farm, but after a thunderstorm knocks down the fence he wanders off. He is followed by Lily the lamb.

Do they get lost?

Yes, they do but they have an idea that will solve the dilemma.

As for the illustrations, they are rather nice but differ from the cover of the book.

At the end of the book, there are questions and Llama facts. I found that awesome. It is a good way to help the child remember books (if they are older).

There is some religious background to this book, which I did not mind because it is not "in your face". Not a bad book, it teaches one about love and what someone will do for their loved ones.

As an animal lover I was drawn to the book because of the cute cover. Larry the llama is supposed to watch over the baby animals on a farm, but after a thunderstorm he wandered off, followed by Lily the lamb, and they get lost.

The illustrations are nice but different from the cover.

At first I was a little surprised by the questions at the end, but then I recognized the religious background to this book (somehow I missed the subtitle "Love Is a Fruit of The Spirit" on the cover because I was only looking at the pictures of the animals ...). I'm not religious myself, but I respect all people's faith.

This book is really cute and great for children learning about love. My audience was a little too young for it but loved the images that are bright and big. Not too much text per page so easy to read.
Love the extra questions and facts at the end of the book.

This was a cute little story about Love being a Fruit of the Spirit. The Bible isn't bashed over your head in the story itself, which is nice. But they do have some good follow up questions at the end to start discussions about how to show love and the examples in the story.

I read A LOT of books to my little girl so I was intrigued to review this. Spoilers Included. I was put off by the large amount of text and the convoluted story. The llama is looking after the farm from 'big bad animals' which weren't defined, surely to teach children they would be defined as foxes etc. The Llama was then really rude to the 'baby animals' and wandered off totally abandoning his job not worrying at all about the animals he had left behind who were potentially in danger. And there were no consequences? After the main story there are lessons on love which are not clear from the main story so have to be explained at the end, as well as random facts about Llama's. A Bible Chapter is noted at the end so I'm guessing this is a conversted story from the Bible, but again this is not clear.

The illustrations in this book were really cute. The best part about this book was at the end. It included questions to apply the lessons learned. It also included a list of the fruits of the spirit and the Bible verse. Overall this was cute.

This is a sweet book about Larry the llama and the farm animals he is supposed to watch over. My son enjoyed the story and the illustrations.

I am confused by the cover because it looks nothing like the illustrations inside the book. The cover makes it looks like toddler story, when it is actually more appropriate for older children.
