This is such a fantastic book. It’s easy to follow if you missed the other books and worth re reading. So much action that kept me on edge. Loved the chemistry between Edge and Skye. They made a great team and worked hard at rescuing her half sister from a cult. Loved that there’s more to the story and that there’s a big operation they need to break down. Also, when will Edge realize he loves Skye? Or is he going to choose returning to the Army? Thankfully there’s a very happy ever after. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.

This third book in Martin's Blood Ties, The Logans series is a fast-paced, non-stop, edge-of-the-seat thriller filled with murder, mystery, forced cult imprisonment, betrayal, dysfunctional family dynamics, and more than a few surprises. Each time I thought I had figured out what was happening in Skye's and Edge's mission to rescue her sister, a new twist sent them in a different direction. I love when an author keeps me on my toes, trying to tie up all the threads of a story before the big reveal. In One Last Chance, Martin carefully wove in unexpected layers that would eventually reveal connections that would have wide-spread consequences...and would keep me guessing until the end. There was much more to this than a clear-cut religious cult.

The action and suspense of this story took center stage but romance was not left behind. I enjoyed the chemistry between Edge and Skye, the partnership formed while they stood side by side as equals, and the growth both experienced as they sorted through emotional baggage. I was firmly in their couple corner the entire way.

While this is the third book of this series, it can be enjoyed as a standalone. Actually, all three books - while connected by the three brothers - stand well on their own. If you choose to begin with One Last Chance, rest assured you'll be able to jump right in without missing a beat.

If you're a fan of action-packed, high-intensity romantic suspense, give this one a try. I couldn't put it down.

10 STARS FOR KAT MARTIN. One Last Chance by Kat Martin is book 3 in the A Blood Ties, The Logans series and I have to say this was by far my favorite. I could not put this book down. Though in a series this book can be read as a standalone but I am highly recommending you read all 3 books in this series as each are just great. What I loved about One Last Chance was that this is a 3 in 1 book. There are 3 stories and the first starts out as trying to rescue someone from a cult, then a meth bust to selling military weapons. Incredible!!!! Kat is one of my very favorite authors and I have been reading her books for about 20 yrs now. I started reading her historical romances but when she went contemporary I was totally sad until I read one. Now I am a huge fan of her contemporaries and I just can’t get enough. I found One last Chance easy to read, exciting, wonderful characters, so veery well written and as I said I could not put this book down. I can not imagine the research of the military that is in this book. This story has 2 P.I.s that are good friends but liking each other more than just friends, rescue, murder, amazing gun battle scenes, revenge, getting shot, being a team, trust, evil, abuse, saving a best friend and falling in love. I don’t want to give to much away so you will just have to read this book. I am so highly recommending this book… you will not be disappointed.

***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.

A book you won’t want to put down. A fast paced romance thriller that is a page turner you will want to read in one sitting. Edge and Skye are coworkers and both ex military that work well together, but they do have some sexual tension between them. When Skye sister Callie has been off the grid for 2 months, Skye promises her stepmother to check out Callie’s last know location. Edge offers to go with for support and backup. When they scout out the commune / cult there is more to it then either one realizes. The whole Blackhawk Security coworkers get involved and the story flows wonderfully.
This is the third in the series, but definitely can be a standalone. Now I want to read the previous books. Thank you NetGalley for this eARC. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story. #NetGalley #OneLastChance #KatMartin

Edge Logan thought he'd always be a Green Beret. When circumstances forced him from the army, he had to change direction. He now uses his skills in his position with Nighthawk Security. When he learns his fellow agent, Skye Dawson, is going in search of her missing half sister, Edge offers his assistance. Having previously worked with her to provide security to Edge's brother on one of his treasure hunts, Edge knows they make a good team. Despite the heat that simmers between them, Skye is more than happy to have Edge and his experience helping her out.

Edge and Skye know that Skye's sister has gotten caught up with a mysterious cult. Finding the location of their compound is the easy part. Once there, they discover something much more dangerous is hiding within the cult. They'll need to work quickly to contain the danger. As the crisis heats up, the wall between Edge and Skye starts to crumble. But before they can explore their feelings, they have to survive.

Kat Martin brings her passion for suspense and thrills to this edge of the seat story of the third Logan brother. Edge and Skye race against time as the tension and suspense ramp up with every turn of the page. This is an unputdownable thriller that is not to be missed.

Feels like we got two books in one for Edge’s story. He’s been dishonorably discharged from the Army, basically for reporting a higher officer of something illegal without a lot of evidence. Since his release Edge has been dreaming of getting back into the Army and seeing the officer behind bars. Before that happens, he and Skye need to locate her sister. Callie was basically seduced into joining a cult, where the women and men have distinct roles and the men aren’t exactly of the sweet and innocent variety. Skye and Edge work to rescue Callie and end up getting involved with something neither can turn away from. The books has lots of puzzle pieces and action, all while Skye and Edge are trying to make a relationship happen, and it all works together. Edge is the youngest Logan brother, the others got their book already, so you can read the books out of order since they aren’t connected. I’ve enjoyed early copies of the series from NetGalley and have written my review voluntarily.

One Last Chance😍

One last chance is Edge and Skye’s story❣️Their story starts off with Skye receiving a call from her stepmother about her half-sister Callie and how she hasn’t been in touch for about two months. Skye and Edge find where she is but it appears as though she’s joined a “cult-like” group. Skye and Edge know they have to rescue Callie but it soon turns out that more is going on in the compound than they first thought and this sets the tone for the rest of the book🤩

Great adventures in this one that Edge and Skye embark upon as well as some steamy scenes between these two. Lots of action and I’m hoping for Conn’s story next😁 I received an advanced copy via Netgalley and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️

What starts out as a well check to see if her sister is doing well in the commune that she has become a part of turns into an exciting, nail-biting adrenaline-fueled adventure.
Skye with the help of her colleague Edge to check out the Children of the Sun cult that her sister has recently joined. When Edge and Skye show up at the gates of the compound, they are confronted by gun toting guards and are eventually granted an audience with the reverend but not a meeting with Skye's sister. Suspicious that this cult lives up to all the bad stuff they've read and heard about cults the two decide to do some investigating.
Soon all their fears are verified when they rescue a woman attempting to flee from the compound. Now, Skye is determined to rescue her sister and find out more about the guys that run the compound. It turns out that the cult is far from benign. Not only are the women in the compound being abused but the camp is a cover up for a drug operation.
Skye manages to rescue her sister but is now vested in bringing the key members of the cult down when they escape the raid by the DEA and the FBI and other sundry alphabet agencies. In the process they take one of the women who's a friend to Skye's sister. The story moves fast and the pulse pounding action kept me riveted.  Being that this is a romantic thriller there's romance between Edge and Skye and other secondary characters also seem to be developing soft feelings that we'll hopefully see come to fruition in future stories.

Skye Delaney, former military, receives a call from her mother; her sister is missing. They have not heard from Callie for two months and believe that she had gone to visit the Children of the Sun. When Edge Logan, former Green Beret and agent at Nighthawk, learns that Skye plans on visiting what they believe is a cult, he insists on going with her. He has been attracted to Skye from their first meeting, but has been unable to get close to her. She is very private about the injuries she sustained in the military. Edge is still pursuing the unjust charge that forced him to resign from the military and the major who he believes was responsible. The author seamlessly moves between the danger involved in the search for Skye’s sister and the disturbing intel that Edge receives about the major’s future plans. The men who run the cult, have no intention of allowing any of the women to leave...alive. Will they be able to rescue Callie and thwart the major’s plans? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

Kat Martin returns with the third book in the Blood Ties: The Logans romantic suspense series. This tense high stakes and perilous thriller features former Green Beret Edge Logan and ex-military Skye Delaney. Both work for the same security firm in Denver, Colorado as private investigators. Edge was forced to resign from the military and has a new life mainly providing security for high profile clients. Skye left the military after an improvised explosive device hit her vehicle and she was badly injured. While attracted to each other, neither has been willing to act on it. They don’t want to risk their friendship.

When Edge overhears Skye talking with her stepmother, he offers to provide back-up. Skye’s half-sister Callie hasn’t been heard from in a couple of months. She had joined a commune-like organization that is remote, fenced, and has guards. How can they access the compound and talk with Callie? Is she there willingly or is there something sinister happening? How will this affect Edge, Skye, and their personal and professional relationships?

While Edge and Skye are both strong, brave, and independent, they both have backstories that affect their relationships. They’re relatable, but flawed. Edge’s anger at his resignation from the military and Skye’s insecurities around her disfigurement affect each of them differently. Can they overcome them? They’re bold and intense protagonists who transform during the course of the storyline.

The story captivated me from the first page to the last. The deeply involved and multi-layered plot has some unpredictable moments that add suspense and danger. The world-building is excellent even as the locations change from Colorado to other states. The writing is fluid and flows well in this unsettling thriller that occasionally makes your blood run cold. It kept delivering exciting outcomes through the characters as I frantically turned the pages. This action-packed novel features deception, deaths, jealousy, greed, romance, family, friends, trust, corruption, and power over others. It also depicts the devastating actions certain organizations take and the effects they can have on the victims.

Overall, this action-packed romantic suspense has great characterization, a little spice, and plenty of action. Those who enjoy romantic suspense novels will likely enjoy this book. This is the eleventh book I have read by this author across multiple series. This one has the right mix of romance, tension and a thrilling storyline.

I hate cults as a plot premise. I just hate them. If this had not been a Kat Martin book, I would have passed it by. As much as I hate cults, I love Kat Martin. Thankfully the plot doesn't stay with the cult for long. Edge and Skye are a wonderful couple, so well matched in many ways including their hard-headedness. The work with each other to solve the problems they face, and I love that in a romantic duo.

Edge Logan is a former Army Green Beret who was falsely accused and forced to resign his commission in order to avoid a court-martial. His goal since leaving the Army is to bring down the Major responsible, clear his name and rejoin the Green Berets. Working for Nighthawk Security in Denver is just biding his time until he can do that. When he overhears Skye Delaney and her stepmother discussing her missing half-sister, Callie, Edge is pretty sure that Skye is going to need help on this, even though he knows that Skye is more than capable of handling any situation and getting close to the beautiful Skye may not be in his best interest, but the attraction has been building for months and there is no denying it.

Skye's sister has joined a cult, The Children of the Sun, and hasn't been heard from for over two months. Her mother is frantic, and Skye is concerned too. She is grateful that Edge wants to help, but at the same time she doesn't want to get further involved with a co-worker she is attracted to and who is devastatingly handsome and has a love 'em and leave 'em reputation. Skye has physical scars from her time in the Army and hasn't had good experience dating since that time. It would kill her if she got close to Edge and he ran like her ex-fiancé. But Callie's safety is more important and that has to be the priority.

What they find in the cult compound is a lot worse than they could imagine and getting Callie out is just the beginning of a dangerous and deadly mission.

I have read many Kat Martin books in the past, which was why I was looking forward to this new book, “One Last Chance”, from her. The plot summary has so many good components: a cult, a love story between two broken people that put each other back together again, a strong woman MC and surely some firefights. Turns out there were things within this book that just didn’t work for me, but a lot of things that were enjoyable.

My previous Kat Martin books were all read before I was familiar with soldiers, and I think that in this case as with most, it is better read when you have no idea the particulars behind the military. Also, in recent years I have had trouble with books that talk about the male MC being a “real man” and the female character that is supposed to be a bad ass needing to be saved by several males. This all comes down to personal taste though, so while I wanted to point out some of the reasons that I rated a bit lower, that doesn’t mean that this isn’t a book for someone else.

There was a great plot that was both fast-paced and intricate. The female protagonist was someone that you wanted to root for. You will end up believing the romance. Overall, I think this is a good romance book for me of yonder years and it will be wonderful for a great many other romance readers.

I have been a fan of Ms. Martin for years. Most of her books have become favorites. One Last Chance felt like one last chance for the author to include way too many elements. to help 'flesh out' the book. Having a background in emergency services, different issues really don't happen right on top of each other.

Edge Logan, disgraced and forced to resign from the Army and his Green Beret 'family' due to a dirty commanding officer, is now working for Nighthawk. He has dedicated himself to proving his CO guilty and proving his innocence.

Skye Delaney, sister to Nighthawks owner, Conn, has her own past in the military, including an IED incident that left her leg disfigured. She is a kick a$$, take no prisoners woman. Skilled in weapons and hand to hand combat, she can take care of herself.

Edge and Skye have been dancing around their attraction to each other since Edge came to work at Nighthawk. After working together in a mission in Mexico (the previous book in this series), their attraction gets more intense.

Skye and Conn's half-sister hasn't been heard of for a couple of months. Her mother contacts Skye and asks her to check out the commune-like group she has joined. Skye and Conn decide to try to find their sister. Edge is partnered with Skye and off they go.

I don't want to give away the whole book. Suffice it to say these two, Skye and Edge, and some other players from Nighthawk and other clandestine agencies, solve a multitude of cases because everything is interconnected.

Did I like the book? Yes. Did I think it was too busy? Yes. Will I continue to read Ms. Martin's books? Yes. Not my favorite, but many of the scenes were very well written.. I applaud anyone who will put their writing out there for us to read and comment on.

Kat Martin is an author who is able to write a series that can all be read as a stand-alone novel or read as a series. The author is able to bring her world to life with romance, characters who readers can fall in love with and of course an ending that everyone will love.

One Last Chance has to character who have military background who are both strong, smart, and will do anything to help each other find a missing loved one. The romance, sexual tension is perfect a combination with the action pack moments in One Last Chance. This is another great installment in the Blood Ties/Logan series. Nighthawk Security is made up of some highly trained individuals who are definitely people you want on your side. Skye Delaney gets a telephone call from her father's second wife about her daughter. Callie has joined the Children of the Sun, and Callie is not allowed to speak to her mother or anyone outside of their "organization". She is worried that Callie is in danger. Children of the Sun is a very dangerous cult led by a charismatic leader who definitely does not care for his "people". Edge Logan is a member of Nighthawk Security as well, and he is helping Skye with this case. They feel there is a whole lot more going on than praying in this cult organization. The tension between Skye and Edge is very evident as they tiptoe around their feelings for one another. Skye has horrific burn scars from an IED explosion which caused her to retire from the military. She is very self-conscious about the scars, and does not feel that any man would want her after seeing her scarred leg. This causes her to hold her feelings close to the vest. However, she is a woman who will not let anything stand in the way of doing what is necessary to save others. Skye is a strong character with strong protective instincts. Edge Logan is an ex-green beret who can kick some butt, but he also has strong protective instincts. This is a nicely paced action book with plenty of intrigue and suspense and just the right amount of action and romance. I found myself wanting to clap as the Nighthawk Security team took on this organization and their slimy men. This group is willing to take risks for the safety of those who cannot help themselves.

Thank you to Kensington and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Edge is my favorite Logan. Skye is more than I expected. The plot is full of suspense and surprises. I'm always up for a good cult storyline and this one had an interesting twist. My favorite thing about this author is that her stories are never predictable. The romance is sexy and steamy. The epilogue got me excited for more of this series. Another page turner!

This series just keeps getting better and better. There is a lot of action in this novel with enough romance thrown in to keep you reading. In this novel we get to focus on Edge's story.
After being discharged from the military for something he didn't do Edge finds himself working at the Nighthawk detective agency with Skye.
It does not take long for things to heat up between Edge and Skye you can almost smell the chemistry.
Martin's characters are so well written that you feel like they are old friends. The story itself is suspenseful and really well done.
Many thanks to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this novel.

I really liked this story, full of action and great character descriptions.
Edge was a fab hero, sexy and brooding whilst it was nice to see a strong female lead too.
Fast paced with a solid plot, I couldn’t put this book down.

This was a new to me author and I am sure her fans will enjoy it. Definitely full of suspense, but not for me.

All words and opinions are my own. I was given a copy of this book for my honest review.

Another great Logan brother’s story!

This book is part of a series but easily reads as a standalone. Edge Logan and Skye Delaney had an attraction for a while but didn’t act on it. When Skye’s sister is held against her will, they work together to rescue her and bring down the criminals responsible. Their relationship build from there.

I liked this book, lots of action, strong capable women characters and some hot interactions, what’s not to like? Well-written, fast-paced and it keep moving at a clip that keeps the reader interested.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.
