"Dino-Valentine's Day" is a delightful addition to the dino-themed holiday books, making Valentine's Day a roaring good time for young readers. Lisa Wheeler's cheery rhyming text and Barry Gott's goofy illustrations create a heartwarming and humorous story that celebrates love and friendship in true dino style. The various dinosaur characters, from Raptor and Leso to the Ptero twins and Maia, each bring their unique charm to the Valentine's Day festivities. This book is a fantastic addition to any library collection and a wonderful choice for a read-aloud session with kids. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Dino-Valentine's Day is a typical valentines day book with the popular activities of picking Valentines cards, making a gift for someone you like, having a party and more. However, it's not a group of children but a group of dinosaurs. This book will be a hit for young dinosaur fans.

This is a miss for me. The illustrations are pretty. The story is written in rhyme, and after a few pages it gets old. Unfortunately, the step by step description leading to Valentine Day didn't impress me, nor do I see a reason for the book.

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the eARC!

Any dinosaur loving kiddo would love this book and seeing how Dinosaurs celebrate Valentine's day! The pictures showing different Dinosaurs doing what kids may do to celebrate (i.e. make cards, cookies, shop for flowers/cards) was cute and kids would be able to relate to the dinosaurs. I like how at the end a Dinosaur proclaims that they like everyone and gives all their friends a Valentine treat.
One thing I did not understand was the connection to Hanukkah at the end- maybe there is another book about celebrating Hanukkah? I'm not sure what the connection here is since Hanukkah is not in the same month as Valentines Day.

As a preschool teacher, I appreciate the rhyming throughout the book for exposure for our young readers.

3.5 stars. The best part about this is the bright, colorful illustrations! They're full of fun details and kids will love them. A big cast of dinosaurs gets ready to celebrate, and their story is told in rhymes. The dinosaurs are given nicknames (Ptero, Stego, etc.) but I didn't know some of the more obscure ones. An appendix at the end with full names and pictures would have been a nice addition.

It went on a bit long for the target audience--kids might get squirmy well before the end. There was much made of various crushes the dinos had on each other, which was a bit awkward for an elementary setting, but then that was abruptly dropped. Also, the ending segues a bit confusingly into a mention of Hanukkah, which was a bit of a head-scratcher since they're usually 10 months apart, with many holidays in between. This might be a fun pick for kids fascinated with dinosaurs of if a large selection of Valentine's books is needed, but it probably wouldn't be my go-to for a class read.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review.

I love dinosaurs and Valentine’s day so this was a winner for me. The art style is really cute. The only thing is that I wish it had the dinos’ full names so kids can learn them. Otherwise, adorable and fun.

A sweet and fun book about Valentine's Day, featuring dinosaurs! This picture book focuses on the festivities of the day, from making cards/presents to candy to showing people we care. It is written in a rhyming scheme and features colorful, playful drawings of dinosaurs. It focuses a lot on crushes, but does mention friendship. The ending is a little odd as once the Dino dance is over, the dinosaurs celebrate Hanukkah? I'm not sure why it's referenced when it's celebrated in an entirely different month. Overall, a pretty fun book!

Thank you NetGalley and Lerner Publishing Group for providing this ARC.

Cute kids book about dinosaurs and Valentine’s Day. The rhyming was well done and inclusion of the dinosaur names. I would say it’s a little long for the age group it seems to be shooting for. Also, confused how the ending is about Chanukah considering the holidays are never close together.

This children’s book about dinosaurs celebrating Valentine’s Day is just plain adorable! My kids and I have read the Halloween and Thanksgiving books in this series and knew what to expect, and this one is just as fun as the others. The story is told in rhyme and has cute illustrations of the different dinosaurs. They make crafts, buy cards, make gifts, and go to a dance during the story. At the end they all give each other Valentines, which my kids are very familiar with from school and loved seeing! We will be adding this one to our home library.

Thanks to NetGalley and Lerner Publishing Group for this fun ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I received an electronic ARC from Lerner Publishing Group through NetGalley.
Wheeler's dinosaurs know how to celebrate. Readers see them prepare for Valentine's Day. Each dinosaur knows what they want to make/buy for this special day. They rhyme scheme works to move the story forward, and the illustrations bring these characters to life. Whether you've read all of her series or are starting with this book, you get to be part of the fun and see everything that happens as they enjoy time together.
Brightly colored illustrations bring the dinosaurs off the page. Wheeler shares their actual names and shortens them for fun and to keep the rhymes. Terrific February read for families and classes. This one will be popular in my library.

I was so excited to see Dino-Valentine's Day being featured on Net Galley! I read Dino-Easter to my K-6 students last year and they all absolutely loved it. This new story brings back our same beloved creatures and takes readers along for a sweet ride. The rhyming nature, silly story, and bright pictures make this a great read aloud. Holiday books can be a tricky category to master in Kid Lit, but Lisa Wheeler has a good thing goin'!

Thank you to NetGalley, Lerner Publishing Group, and Carolrhoda Books for an e-ARC of this book to read and review. I found this to be a fun read full of the absolute excited chaos that leads up to a holiday. In this one it's specifically Valentine's Day, but this dino squad goes all out for every holiday and I'm here for it! I like the way this book shows the many ways you can choose to celebrate, and there are lots of different ways to include others in your fun.

What a great way to both have fun, celebrate a holiday, and learn something! My children loved all the dinosaurs making crafts, baking, singing, and just having fun together! It was also great to have all the different names for each dinosaur shortened and in a bold font. We got to talk about different types of dinosaurs and now my son is off to go explore a not so kiddy dinosaur book because he want to learn more about the different types!
