His Christmas Guardian is a short, quick, and action-packed seasonal read. This is part of a series, but I haven't read any of the others (or any other Cindy Dees book) and I wasn't lost at all. The two MMCs, Nick and Alex, have good chemistry. The relationship develops fairly quickly (they say 'I love you' within a relatively short period of time), and I do wish that we got to see more of the couple at the end of the book, like an epilogue. I really enjoyed reading this, but it wasn't necessarily the most memorable book.

Thank you to the publisher for the advanced reader copy.

His Christmas Guardian by Cindy Dees is a romantic suspense novel currently scheduled for release on October 25 2022. CIA Agent Alex Creed’s mission is to take down a deadly criminal before Christmas and only Nick Kane stands in his way. After the same target, and trained to be enemies, do they dare become more? The black ops agent claims he’s after the same target and that working together is the best plan. Never before has Alex been so attracted to someone he shouldn’t trust. Especially knowing Nick has a bit of a death wish, while Alex envisions a future together.

His Christmas Guardian has a good premise, and I thought that Alex and Nick were good characters. I did feel like there were moments that they were just a little too perfect, but for the most part I found that they each had some realistic issues that would need to be overcome for them in the future beyond this book. I did like the alternative points of view, and thought that gave me a better understanding of where everyone stood, and what their concerns were even before they could express them. However, I did feel like this was part of a larger series. That some of the characters mentioned in passing and some of the situations discussed could be found elsewhere. None of this made the read less enjoyable, in fact I think that those that really like it will be out hunting for those other books, but I felt like it was not mentioned in the blurb or on the cover that it was part of a series, which bothered me a little. I felt like I was only getting a small part of a much bigger story, and that more could have been done even just with Nick and Alex to make it all feel a little less easy.

His Christmas Guardian is a good romance with a decent amount of suspense and action.

Great romance to escape into. It opened fast and kept the action going all the way through. This had great chemistry between the leads, with a nice arc for how their relationship progressed. I like seeing it evolve over the novel. The suspense was well done and kept me flipping pages. I know I have a good book when I choose it over sleep. I highly recommend this for a fun holiday read. Thank you NetGally for the ARC. I will be checking out this author now after reading this book.

I love a story where the author knows how to balance fast paced action with slow time falling in love! I enjoyed this book alot and am currently starting the beginning of the series!

Thrilling, suspenseful, with a side of some romance, I was ready to hop into this book. I just was not ready for how short it would be and how fast I would read through it!

This lovely book has it all. It doesn't not dwell on the sex, which was great for me because I loved the action parts of the book. The way the amin characters met,to me was hilarious but on point. It reminded me of the movie Knight and Day, but not fully. It just had a few elements to it. The not wanting the other to die, the getting to know each other, the romance aspect. It was great.

I only saw one thing that stood out to me and I think it was just an ebook error. The words at times got really huge. I looked past it as i thought was an ebook thing. So just be on the lookout for that. Other than that, I thought the book was great. If the author continues with writing books like this, I will have to read them because this one good.

Sadly, this one didn't work for me. I read about the first 1/8 of the book, but I had some trouble distinguishing between the two man characters. I also found it difficult to believe that two career men would be so completely obsessed with sexual thoughts the moment they saw another attractive man! To be an assassin/agent, I'm assuming it takes a great deal of focus and commitment - which seems thrown away over a few muscles and a pretty face.

The writing style is fine... just not the book for me.

REVIEW ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ His Christmas Guardian by Cindy Dees is an action packed and sizzling hot romantic thriller. The job of both Nick Kane and Alex Creed is to remove dangerous criminals from the streets, only their methods vary. They meet at an art gallery gala and soon realize that they are tracking the same target. Can these two men learn to trust each other enough to join forces in bringing down one very dangerous man? And can they manage to accomplish this as the explosive attraction between them intensifies by the minute?⠀

His Christmas Guardian is amazingly suspenseful and the action is virtually non-stop. The plot operates in a narrow time frame in which these men go from rivals to lovers, but the author executes this seamlessly and the romance develops in a purely organic manner. Every element of this book throbs with intensity, from the perilous adventure to the explosive passion. The suspense never lags from the opening pages to the powerful conclusion. But the reader will be so enamored by these characters that they will never want it to end.

Thank you, Harlequin, for allowing me to read The Christmas Guardian early.

I love Christmas stories, I love slow burn, and I love M/M. So it didn’t surprise me that I gobbled up this story within 24 hours. Highly recommended for a few hours of distraction this fall or winter!

His Christmas Guardian is my first Cindy Dees book. Great story!

Two special ops men are brought together after an edge-of-your-set fight while tracking the same man, another special ops guy who'd gone bad.

The time span is short, but the intensity of the situation draws out the commonalities in their lines of work which was a lot of fun to read. There's plenty of action throughout, something I love about the Harlequin Intrigues, but enough downtime for them to get to really know each other.

There's a happy ending, but I do with there were another chapter or an epilogue at the end to take it beyond the final action sequence.

All in all a good book. I'd love to read more books by this author.

This is a 3.5 for me. There is so much potential here. Such an interesting premise and backstory. Each character is also intriguing. There is just a lot to slog through, espeically at the begining. The pacing and slow burn was too slow for me. The ending seemed rushed . That being said, I was invested in the MCs and their HEA. I thought the character development and how they fell for each other satified my emotional needs. I just needed a more direct path there.

Whoa whoa whoa, this book took off right from the beginning and never stopped! I would have read it in one sitting if I could have, but you know... parenting.

Nick Kane and Alex Creed work for two sides of the same coin, tracking down a dangerous criminal in the days before Christmas. They run into each other after tracking said criminal to an art gallery and after fighting it out to an impasse on the street, they have to decide whether or not they can trust each other and work together to capture this man. The suspense here is amazing, the two of them were constantly on the move and I was eager to learn what it was the criminal had stolen... and boy was that an interesting Christmas twist!

The other side of the story is the romance between Nick and Alex, which certainly didn't start as a romance but more of aggressive attraction. Even thought the story takes place over such a short amount of time, their relationship progression still seemed organic and natural. It was fantastic to see the two change as the book went on, and I'm not going to spoil anything here but the ending to their storyline was so perfect.

This book was a roller coaster ride, I adored every minute and I'd be happy to read more from this author (read her bio it's impressive!). Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin for the advanced copy; all opinions here are my own. If you like Christmas romances and suspense, you'll definitely want to pick this up when arrives in October.

There's something about seeing the Harlequin logo that has me one-clicking, ready to indulge in a great romance. And this author definitely brought me that. This story really got to me.
