I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. I am kind of bummed that this is just a download to my phone and not a download not my Kindle. So for some reason when I read it and go back it looses my spot :(. That is a bummer but what I was able to read is really good and highly recommend.

Having read Little Women many times in my life, I can say that it was a REAL treat getting to read this edition. Not only did I get to enjoy this beloved story all over again, but the illustrations were just magnificent. They were gorgeous!

If you haven't read this book before, this would be a wonderful first reading experience. I got to read it on my Kindle, as I received a Netgalley copy--I am undoubtedly going to buy a physical copy!

A pretty enough retelling. The floral notes are subtle and classy, it appears to be well done and not just copy-pasted many times over. Much of my verdict would depend on things like paper quality and sizing of the book, which can't come through in an eARC. For $45 it would have to be very impressive, but I can see it making the grade.

Little Women is one of my favorite classics. This edition is beautiful from the cover and the illustrations throughout are perfect for the story. This will make a wonderful addition to any classic collection.

I remember reading Little Women when I was very young (around 8) and I loved it. The story is so touching, emotional and will always be part of my childhood.
This new illustrated edition is amazing! It emphasises the events with a subtle colourful touch. I love it!

Little Women was one of the books I kept reading over and over as a child, and to this day it holds a special place in my heart, so to find this beautifully illustrated edition was such a treat. The delicate watercolors add another dimension to the novel, showing the passing of the seasons as the story moves along. In addition, the first pages of each chapter starts with beautiful lettering and there is a name plate in the beginning that I would love to write my name in (in calligraphy of course!). Simply lovely.

I own a copy of Pride and Prejudice illustrations by Marjolein Bastin and I adore it. It's my favorite copy.

This copy, like Pride and Prejudice, is absolutely gorgeous. The watercolor and small additions to most pages add such a beautiful touch. Little Women is one of my favorite classic books. Introduced to me by my grandmother, it's a story that brings me a lot of nostalgia and happy memories from my childhood. It's safe to say this copy will be purchased and added to my shelf once it's published. It's too beautiful for me not to.

Little women is a classic that I absolutely adore to this day!! It holds such rich undertones of feminism and always striving to reach your dreams. If you keep working hard for it, your dreams will come true. The story also upholds a sense of nostalgia and the tight bonds of sisterhood formed throughout the years. I can go on and on, but don't want to spoil the book for anyone who is new to this story.

Little Women, a time-enduring classic, has been brought to life anew by Marjolein Bastin's gorgeous illustrations. Wildlife and day-to-day items adorn the pages in splashes of color. The text itself is formatted beautifully in a classic serif font. It is not often that a book's interior design elevates the content so much - Bastin has done a marvelous job.
As to the book itself, I shall not attempt to laud its praises beyond what has already been said. It certainly is worth a read. All in all, a beautiful edition of a beautiful book. I highly recommend it and hope you will find as much joy in its lovely pages as I have.

I feel like everyone who reads AT LEAST has a general idea of what Little Women by Louisa May Alcott is about, but This version is so freaking BEAUTIFUL! I can't get over all of the delicate illustrations littered through out, and the cover is freaking amazing! I was pleasantly surprised with how amazing it was. When I think illustrations, I think the older type, with little ovals filled with quick sketches of the characters here and there, but these just... made my heart so happy! Floral, birds, and insects just for whatever reason are the bees knees.. I honestly don't own a copy of Little women ( i borrowed it from the library when i was a kid, my mom loved it!) and I can't wait to get my hands on this physical copy when it drops!

I was curious to check out this illustrated edition of one of my favorite books. Interestingly, there are no people in the illustrations, only flowers, fruit, birds, animals, insects and a few objects. In Part One, the succession of blooms illustrates the passage of time through the girls' year. In Part Two, the lush blooms point up the greater focus on love and marriage. The watercolor vignettes are charming and are liberally scattered throughout. Interested in more from this illustrator -- I rather like the idea of leaving characters to our imagination, but some landscapes might be nice to add.

This book is absolutely stunning. The attention to detail put into each illustration is amazing. This book would make an amazing gift to a fan of classic literature. It's like I'm being transported back in time and living the lives of these sisters. As a collectable edition I cannot recommend this series enough. The Pride and Prejudice edition is also beautiful, and Persuasion is due to release in October.

This edition of the classic Little Women is so beautiful, i’m obsessed 😍. The story is also beautifully written and will stay one of my favorites.

This illustrated version of Little Women is absolutely stunning. I "only" got to see the digital version and am already so excited for the print. The vibrant, beautiful flora and fauna illustrated in this book follows the narrative and the seasons the narration goes through and ties everything in beautifully. I especially liked the winter/Christmas chapters with the snow-covered Holly and later the bunnies.
Each chapter starts with a cute illustration. The majority of chapters have illustrated initials that set the theme for the following illustrations of the chapter.

When I first saw the book, I thought I had recognised it from somewhere, and sure enough, it looks almost exactly like the German "Schmuckausgabe" by Coppenrath. If the English version is coming out in the same print quality as the German one, I can also recommend it for how sturdy the book is.

Either way, I am glad this is coming out well before Christmas because I will be gifting it to multiple people.

Little Women is my all-time favorite book and when I saw someone illustrated the book, I knew I had to check this out. I expected pictures of the sisters throughout but it wasn’t that. It was elegant illustrations of flowers, birds, and fruit done in the most fitting way. They are gorgeous and do a great job of conveying certain details in a way nothing else could. The delicate flowers and bird feathers when Beth is being discussed were my favorite.

I will definitely be adding this edition of Little Women to my collection.

Absolutely visually stunning version of a classic piece of literature by Louisa May Alcott. The watercolor illustrations by Marjolein Bastin, which appear throughout the novel are just beautifully crafted. Flora and fauna of the most vibrant hues and delicate detail flit merrily across the pages. The cover and end pages are so charming. The compositions work perfectly in context with this novel. I will be gifting this edition to several family members this holiday season. Hydrangeas are dear to my heart and those little yellow butterflies hold a special significance to me and my family. I teared up when I saw them. They might end up tattooed on me shortly!

This is a beautiful edition of Little Women. The illustrations are gorgeous and this might very well be my favorite edition!

As with the other classics she's also illustrated, Marjolein Bastin's illustrations give this edition of "Little Women" a charming look, ideal for gifting and for having a collection of books to display that looks pretty and feminine. Although I would've much preferred she illustrated people instead of just vegetation, flowers, animals, and fruits, which are adorable but often made me think what the purpose and point were, because they didn't seem to be reenacting any scene in particular nor seemed to be a metaphorical or abstract depiction. Decoration seems to be the purpose, and if so, then it's pretty but definitely not what I'd have chosen when going for an illustrated edition of this classic.
