Thank you, NetGalley, for an e-ARC of The Examen Book by Paul Mitchell.
This is a beautifully written and illustrated book that lays a foundation for daily examination of conscience. Perfect for parents looking for guidance for end-of-the-day prayers. I shared this title with the religious ed director at my church as it is a book that would make a great gift to families at baptism.

The book serves its purpose perfectly!
I just love how comforting this picture book is. Love everything about it specially the concepts it has about being grateful.

The art is so beautiful. Kudos to the artist!

Thank you, Loyota Press, for the advance reading copy.

This is a great book to read with older kids, maybe aged 5 or 6 and up. It would be really good in a family setting or in a Sunday school setting at church. The rhyming scheme can help kids to focus and stay interested, while it offers some good advice on drawing near to God and focusing the mind on gratefulness. Some parts were a bit cheesy or over the top with the word choices to fit into the rhymes ("thee" stands out to me). But overall, this is a book I would read to my son and/ or with a Sunday school class.
