Another gripping, intriguing and extremely entertaining book I had so much fun with!

The plot: Big Little Lies meets Desperate Housewives : perfect suburban mystery with lots of dirty secrets, misdemeanors including cheating, bribery, embezzlement and wait for it: MURDER! Nothing as it seems even in peaceful Connecticut.

The story told by three POVs: Paige at the age of 42, single mom, raising her 8 years old Izzy, returning back to her hometown, with her tail between her legs after losing her job as aspiring TV crime thriller series writer. After a tantrum she’s got restraining order from cheat ex, financially struggling Paige is forced to live at her mom’s house ( at least it’s rent free) and get socialized with suburban-nosy-gossipy wives who wear Burberry as their uniforms.

Layne: very competitive, mother of three hyperactive kids, dealing with her estranged husband who is never at home, getting ready to run Parent Booster Association when Ainsley Anderson leaves the position, working extra hard to impress Paige to convince her become one of their member at the association.

And Nina; super intelligent, asocial, resembling a righteous nun, finding out the embezzlement from parent booster association accounts. She tries to talk with Ainsley to warn the authorities about this situation but so far she gets ignored by everyone.

Ainsley Anderson is queen bee- typical narcissist, manipulative, power thirsty mean girl, married with Paige’s high school sweetheart and first love John!

When she threw one of her fundraising parties at her gorgeous mansion, Ainsley fought with three women at the same night. She got jealous when she caught John soothing Paige in his arms. She told Layne she wouldn’t resign from her position at booster association and threatened Layne about her big secret. Finally she threatened Nina to call the police for her hacking attempt.

Guess what? The same night she found death at the bottom of her own driveway! Was she pushed or was it an accident?
There are so many people who have motives to get rid of her including her lovely husband.

All the gossiping mothers whispering at the school ground that might not be an accident, pointing fingers at Paige: who is the ex lover of Ainsley’s husband.

The hot cop Dominic, who worked with Ainsley’s chief officer father, asking her to be his inside woman, sniffing around to find more secrets of Ainsley’s close friends.

As Paige starts digging more she realizes there are more dirt coming out and this peaceful small town is full of buried secrets and more misdemeanors!

It’s quick, exciting, captivating reading! I even enjoyed it more than the author’s first work! A must read for the fans of women’s fiction/ smart small town mysteries!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Gallery Books for sharing this amazing digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts.

Better read this post before it gets turned into a television series. Mind blown absolutely!!!! This book is incredible. Incredibly strong female characters he’s down on her luck ends of solving a murder mystery where she could potentially be a suspect.
