I enjoyed this story because the setting appeals to me. I love the idea of a small town library and its impact on the community. Marvey is fundraising and getting things accomplished for her library and making a name for herself. The mystery was interesting but I felt it dragged a little bit. There's something that doesn't sit well with me with this series and I can't quite figure out what it is. It might be the overly cutesy and somewhat inauthentic interactions with the characters. The party at the end seemed over the top and unnecessary. Other than that, this was a good read and I will continue with the series.

Audio was well done, no issues.

Marvey is a small town librarian still adjusting to life in said small town. One day, at a fundraising event, she stumbles upon a list of four names, one of which is the name of someone who recently died of a sudden and inexplicable heart attack. Was it murder after all? Are the other people on this list in danger?
This cozy mystery was the second book in the Peach Coast Library Mystery series, but the first one I read. It contained lots of likeable characters and a strong female lead that I would love to get to know more. However, Marvey's parents were a bit annoying. The descriptions were good and there were plenty of red herrings that keep you guessing until the end. It was a quick, fun read.
I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A fast-paced and fun cosy mystery full of laughter, friendship, the library, and budding romance.

Book 2 in A Peach Coast Library Mystery

When Marvey stumbles across a hit list that contains the name of one of her best friends, she decides then and there that she will stop at nothing to make sure that the killer is caught before they can mark another name off their list. Using her sharp intellect and inquisitive nature to her advantage, Marvey and her friends put on their detective hats once again to help the deputies of Peach Coast solve a murder.

Olivia Matthews brings to life a fun murder mystery that sucks you in and makes you feel like you are right there with Marvey and her friends. The town of Peach Coast and the cast of characters felt just like coming home.

I had a wonderful time listening to this novel and can't wait to see what happens next.

Thank you Netgalley for the advance audiobook and reader copy of Murder Out of Character by Olivia Matthews in exchange for an honest review. This was a quick and fun cozy mystery taking place in the south. It is the second book in the series, but I was able to still enjoy it without reading the first book. The main character Marvey is a librarian, which is what drew me to it. I thought the book was enjoyable and interesting, a good read.

This story is about Marvey, a recent NY transplant and a librarian, who comes across a list with 4 names, at a library in Peach Coast, Georgia.

She realizes that one of the people on the list is dead, probably murdered.

When another person on the list dies, she starts suspecting that it could be a hit list and the remaining two people on it could be in danger.

Can she and her friends figure out what is going on and why before time runs out?

It was interesting and the narration was good.

This is a review of the ALC of the book.
