A great series on learning on how to read for your children. It is kid friendly with helpful parent/teacher tips at the end. Reading books builds confidence in children and puts them on the path to adventure such as finding a new friends like Dragon!

Highly recommend!

A special thank you to Norwood House Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

I have been a fan of the Dear Dragon books by Margaret Hillert for early reading and this series of "Let's Celebrate _____ Dear Dragon" are adaptations from the series. This is a level C book, so there is less support from picture clues and longer sentences. The boy and his dragon watch the family moving in across the street, but when the car pulls up they see there is a friend for each of them, a young girl and her unicorn. They go an a picnic and have fun. The illustrations are cute being large and vibrant, and the text is easy to understand. My granddaughter recognized some words, but basically I read this one to her as she is just beginning to recognize words and use picture clues. This was a fun story, especially for a youngster who loves unicorns. There is an illustrated glossary at the front, so you can go over those before you read the story, and some follow up activities at the end. A great book for a kindergarten or grade one class as well as a family library.

I love all of the books in the Dear Dragon Series, and this one was also great. The story is about a boy and his dragon, who make friends with a little girl and her unicorn who have just moved into their street. They all have fun together with a picnic.

The pictures in the book are beautiful, and the text is easy to understand.

There are also activities in the book, and a picture glossary, with common sight words, which are very useful. Some words used in the book are a, all, and, are, bring, can, eat and have.

This is a great book for children, which I highly recommend.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

This is a wonderful book for beginning readers. It offers sight words and visuals to help with their reading success.

Kids will relate to the excitement of a new neighbour moving in across the street and I love the aspect of showing kindness and acceptance as a lovely way to welcome them into the neighbourhood. Who doesn't love a picnic with a dragon and a unicorn invited to attend too? Awesome!

The sweet illustrations are bright, colourful and engaging and the characters are adorable. The book is part of the"Dear Dragon" series. It includes a picture glossary, reading support and activities. I love the book and its mission and I highly recommend it.

An adaptation of a book from a series regarding someone and their pet dragon, this barely mentions the dragon at all, but does get to see the owner make new friends when someone new moves into the street – a unicorn owner, no less. It’s hard to rate early, early, pre-pre-school readers, but I see no fault with this one, nor its attendant activities.

Really a helpful early reading series. This one particularly has very sweet illustrations, and as with the others a nice message and feel throughout. Also helpful is the word activities and extensions for learning at the end.

This is a sweet early reader story about boy and His dragon greeting their new neighbors a girl and a unicorn.

This book was perfect for the next level early reader. Repeating some difficult words multiple times. But not too hard.

Super easy read and perfect for beginner readers. This simple story was perfect for my 6 year old son. He loves dragons, he loved being able to read this, and overall it was just great. We love this series and would definitely recommend.

I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

A great leveled reader. This book is part of a series about Dear Dragon, and would be great for a child to grow with as their reading skills continue to grow. The words accurately match the pictures in a way that a child with some decoding skills would be able to figure out unknown words by looking at the illustrations.

The book has a picture glossary to guide readers and know the characters in the pictures. The sight words were a common list that most new readers would know. It was good for students who are just learning to read and depend on the pictures to help them understand the story.

In this edition of the Dear Dragon series, Dragon and the boy see a moving truck and new neighbours move in across the street. They decide to make friends and go for a picnic. This is a simple leveled text with several sightwords and detailed pictures to support decoding and comprehension. The book opens with a list of important sightwords and ends with a word work activity. This would be a great book for parents who are not sure how to support their new readers and teachers could assign this book without having to do a lot of prep to support parents in home reading. As with most leveled books, the story is not super entertaining but for young children who want to see success reading, this book is definitely set up for them to feel successful. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read and review this book!

It was made for developing children to get to know words so the narrative was made repetitive with a full page illustration, this time in the theme making a new friends with a neighbor who just moved in. And there's also exercises at the end of the book! Perfect book for reading and learning time!

This is the perfect book for a beginning reader! As a teacher, I know that students will enjoy the story. There are plenty of sight words and picture support in this book to help young readers. I also thought the story was relatable to kids, and demonstrates the importance of being kind and welcoming to others.

This was so cute! I downloaded it at lunchtime to read with my 6 and 8 year olds and both of them enjoyed it. It definitely held my 6 year olds attention a bit more.

this is pretty cute and I like the fact it highlights shapes and has the workbook and activity in the back of the book so that they can learn pronouns, and adjectives and get an early start. the front of the book also has a glossary of pictures and common words to help them.
