A very fun tale on the view of one item but how different it can mean to people (or in this case, animals).
It was an enjoyable read with great illustrations! Very well done!

What a cute story! We follow a very cute pig with a green umbrella who goes on a little adventure. Along the way, the pig meets a cast of characters who recognize the green umbrella from their own adventures. It's a very engaging and colorful book that kids are sure to love. I can see this being a fun choice for a library or classroom story time. I will be recommending my library purchase this title.

The Green Umbrella is an engaging children’s book that is illustrated in a creative way. An elephant carrying a green umbrella is continually mistaken by other animals that it belongs to them but each in a unique way. The Green Umbrella invites your children to use their imagination along with gaining a better understanding of sharing and building true friendships.

‘The Green Umbrella’ follows an elephant that keeps being told his umbrella was once something else used by animals he comes across in the story. The book reflects the power of imagination, as well as the importance of sharing. This story allows for a good guide to show children the importance of sharing and making friends.

Thank you to Netgalley and North south Books for the opportunity to review this ARC.

I enjoyed the book. I think children will really like the story. I was a little thrown off when the elephant was talking about his experiences with the umbrella when he was little and then it went on to the rabbit. I guess I felt like there was a rhythm going on for each animal being introduced. Other than that it's great. The illustrations are beautiful. It teaches children about sharing. It also teaches children about being imaginative with objects that have other uses other than the primary use such as the umbrella for staying dry in the rain. Each animal had a different use for it so I think that's a really good positive. #thegreenumbrella #netgalley

This picture book tells the story of an umbrella that actually seems to have many purposes other than just protecting an elephant on a rainy day. A cat, bear, rabbit and hedgehog all approach the elephant to ask for their tent, flying machine, boat and other random objects that these animals seem to think the elephant has taken from them. In the end the animals realize that they can have a wonderful time sharing the umbrella and thinking of more creative uses for it. The font is black and is fairly small on light coloured backgrounds. The illustrations are beautiful and also have a really neat style. I could see using this as inspiration in my classroom for an art lesson. I really love the blending of colours, especially in the sky or background and the texture on the ocean waves is really neat as well. I would recommend this book to parents and teachers of children in the age 4-8 range. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read and review this book!

A sweet book about friendship. The umbrella is a great symbol to use. Its quite a short story though and needed more adventures before the elephant describing his. The illustrations where the friends are introduced are bright and colourful but the other pages do not engage the reader.on the adventure and are more drab.

Overall a good idea and could be used to spark a child's imagination.

A sweet story geared toward preschool children about imagination. Repetition with the animals that Elephant encounters along his walk is welcomed by this age group. I enjoyed the illustrations and that they all had a different experience with the umbrella. Will encourage children to engage in make-believe and have adventures of their own.

This is a lovely book for children with wonderful illustrations.

It is about an elephant out for a walk with a green umbrella, who happily shares it with a hedgehog, a cat, a rabbit and a bear.

That listening to others patiently and sharing can lead to new friendships and fun is conveyed beautifully and colourfully.

Liked this book very much.

This is a review of the ARC of this book.

This was a cute, imaginative little story! My daughter enjoyed it as well. Some of the formatting on my phone didn’t carry over all of the sentences and some of the lines were out of order. I loved the artwork throughout.

I adored this sweet story about an elephant and all of his little friends who wanted his umbrella for themselves. I loved that this book reminded us that if you use your imagination, 1 item can have hundreds of uses. I also loved that it taught kids about why sharing is important and how you can make new friends and fun by sharing with others. Lastly, the illustrations were so cute and engaging. I definitely recommend this book for families!

Elephant is taking a stroll in the rain when first a hedgehog, then a cat, and soon others come claiming his umbrella is really their boat or tent or flying machine. Whose is it?

Well, the answer to the question may not be fully answered, but what is true is that unlikely friendships are formed because of the umbrella. It may bother some kids that the ownership issue is not settled or why so many think that may be their item. But maybe that is the point. Adults can point little readers to the fact that in the long run, our relationships with others is more important than any item.

I received an ARC of this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Well isn't this the cutest story you're ever gonna read about an elephant and a green umbrella!? The art was gorgeous and whimsical and perfectly portrayed the powers of imagination in this picture book! This is the best kind of book to read aloud during story time because it will get the kids thinking about all the amazing things they can imagine doing with their own green umbrella!

I think it's cute and nice. It shows the importance of sharing instead of fighting over the same thing. And how it can lead to a wonderful friendship.

It has been raining outside a lot lately and I wanted to find a cute, and entertaining story that I could share with the grandbabies. Enter The Green Umbrella.

What a delightful and imganative read. It's full of beautiful pictures and fun and adventurous story and most importantly friendship. I love how at the end, all the animals the elephant meets become friends.

Definitely check this one out for your littles. I sincerely appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a review copy. All opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone.

This book is about an elephant that has a green umbrella. The elephant encounters multiple people saying that the umbrella is theirs. Although this could cause an argument that is not what happens at all. This book shows the importance of sharing and friendship. It is a nice way to show children how to act in certain situations and that making friends is better than making enemies. I really recommend this book. I enjoyed the illustrations, they were soft and colorful.

What a fine first sentence: "One rainy day an Elephant was taking a walk with his green umbrella." This story is in the traditional form (what does one call it?) of adding a new character with each page turn or two, in the fashion of 'The Great Big Turnip' or 'Henny Penny.' I really enjoyed how each animal thought the umbrella had a different purpose--boat, flying machine, cane, etc. Children have a great liking for umbrellas and no doubt can easily relate to each of these ideas, not to mention the desire to get one's hands on the lovely green umbrella itself. And there is something dreamy about the way each of them remembers their umbrella adventure. The ending feels a tad awkward, as if the author didn't quite find the perfect resolution, but it satisfies well enough. 3.5 rounded up.
