It was a quick easy read and I enjoyed it enough. The premise was intriguing despite it falling short. His mother is a psycho and I didn’t like her but that’s the point.

This was a fascinating read. Miranda is a Shakespearean scholar looking for anything in the bard's handwriting and Robert an impoverished marquess who could use the money from such a lucrative sale. I've read a fair bit of Shakespeare, not that I'm a giant fan or anything, but this book showed me how little I knew! It's like a literary treasure hunt and I do love a good treasure hunt. At times, I felt Robert was a bit on the mercenary side, but it was refreshing for a titled character to be so frank about their financial problems, and the need to economize, very relatable. His mother is another matter though, what a shrew. I liked Miranda, even if she felt a bit blunt and bold and slightly too modern at times. I had no issue with it, I liked the interesting plot too much to quibble. Once the story got going, I found it engaging and hard to put down, except when I wanted to look something up to do further research on a Shakespeare tidbit brought up. When a book makes you want to Google more information about plot points, that's a win in my books. I received an ARC from the publisher and Netgalley for a voluntary review.

I just reviewed Secret of the Sonnets by Samantha Hastings. #SecretoftheSonnets #NetGalley
I really enjoyed this book, Samantha Hastings wrote. It's my first time reading a book by her and I thought it was a great storyline.
