๐“๐‡๐Ž๐”๐†๐‡๐“๐’: a great second book in the Lovelight Farm series. Evie and Beckett were such a special part of Luka and Stellaโ€™s story in the first book and I was so happy we got to experience their happy ever after in this one. It is a standalone book, but I think reading Lovelight Farms first will make the reading experience of this one much better. Evie and Beckett had so much chemistry โ€“ I couldnโ€™t help but smile when the two of them were together. I love a second chance, small town romance with a cinnamon roll MMC and tons of steam and this one delivers on all of the above. It was just an all around great romance & I couldnโ€™t recommend this series enough!

*Special thank you to dreamscape media, netgalley, and BK Borison for an ALC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Having just finished Lovelight Farms, I could not wait to read In the Weeds. For one, I loved Lovelight Farms - the way it was written, the lovestory between Stella and Luka, all the supporting characters. It was prefect. Finding out In the Weeds was now going to focus on Beckett and Evelyn I thought was amazing; how great that two characters that I was already introduced to and enjoyed I get to go deeper into their lives. In reality, I was a little disappointed. I think if maybe I had read In the Weeds before Lovelight Farms I would have enjoyed it better, but just didn't end up connecting or loving the characters as much in this one.
I have to say, B.K. Borison's writing if great! She knows how to create characters and a story for sure, but I think this one just didn't captivate me the way I was expecting it to. The beginning was great. I felt getting to know about Beckett and Evie's get-together at the conference really showed their chemistry and I wanted to know more. Then the scene from Lovelight Farm occurs and we get a glimpse into what really happened between Evie and Beckett when their lovestory was introduced in Lovelight Farms. Again, another moment that highlighted their chemistry, but this one wasn't long enough and everything after this, which was really the main focus of the book, just felt a little forced to me. I didn't really believe that they were so madly in love and therefore I felt their lovestory was a little forced.
It was nice to learn more about Evie's character here. I felt like she was the character that was introduced in Lovelight Farms. Beckett on the other hand felt different. Again, in the beginning of the book, I related to the Beckett I read in Lovelight Farms, but then when it came to him and Evie together, I felt like it was a different character and I felt disconnected. I did appreciate that Inglewild stayed Inglewild and Lovelight Farms still seemed to be the same.

Pippa Jayne once again was a great narrator. I didn't feel Dane Anderson's narration fit the characters/tone of story as well here. Going to give this one 3.5. I think the writing was awesome, but the characters, or maybe my expectation for them, just fell a little flat. Either way, I'm a huge fan of B.K. Borison and can't wait to read more.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ARC.

This follow up to Lovelight Farms was just as cozy and charming. I really enjoyed this heartwarming second chance romance with grumpy x sunshine leads. The characters were likeable and easy to root for. Bonus points for the cute kittens and baby chick.

IN THE WEEDS review

โญ๏ธโญ๏ธ.5/5

๐ŸŒปThis series is so popular on bookstagram and I was excited to dive in! This is technically the second book in the series but the first one takes place at Christmas and I couldnโ€™t bring myself to read a holiday book just yet. ๐Ÿ˜‚ This one unfortunately fell flat for me. I never felt like the two main characters had any chemistry? It felt more like they became a couple because they were both single and kept bumping into each other. By the end of the book I still never felt like they had any reason for being a couple other than they were both single and living in the same town.

๐ŸŒปHereโ€™s a summary of the plot:๐Ÿ‘‡
Evelyn St. James is a well-known social media influencer who starts to realize her life isnโ€™t bringing her happiness. She decides to take a break from social media and return to the last place she felt truly happy, the small town of Inglewild. While there, she always seems to be bumping into Beckett Porter who she had a one night stand with several months back. Neither of them has stopped thinking about that night, and theyโ€™re starting to think maybe thereโ€™s a reason fate keeps bringing them togetherโ€ฆ

๐ŸŒปI really enjoyed the side characters and the small town setting. I plan to read the first book in the series (Lovelight Farms) closer to December! Iโ€™m wondering if Evelyn and Beckett had some chemistry/build up in the first book that didnโ€™t carry over to the second book?? The author also writes with a looooooot of sentence fragments. I had a hard time getting into the ~flow~ of the story because of all the fragments. Overall, this one wasnโ€™t my favorite but I know lots of other people have enjoyed it so maybe Iโ€™m in the minority. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

I really enjoyed this novel. A cute love story that leaves you invested in both characters and rooting for a happy ending.

What an incredible hug of a bookโ€”I absolutely loved it!Evie & Beckett are each introduced in BK Borisonโ€™s first book Lovelight Farms. Beckett the quiet, grumpy, steadfast gardener and Evelyn, social mediaโ€™s โ€œitโ€ girl who really instigates the drama of the book 1.

In her own book, however, the way both Evelyn & Beckett must finally learn to vocalize what they want and make it happen is a lovely journey for the reader. And the way they care for each other is just the sweetest.

As always, I am a sucker for a small town and Inglewild is right up there with Stars Hollow and Green Valley in my opinion. The townspeople add a lot of color to the book while each interfering in their own special ways.

Each of the Lovelight books is set in itโ€™s own season, but if youโ€™re looking for a cozy, feel-good read, Iโ€™d recommend reading asap with a โ˜•๏ธ

Thank you so much to the author, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for the arc & audiobook! I just ordered the complete set of paperbacks with gorgeous covers by @inkandlaurel for my shelf because I know Iโ€™ll want to read these again and again!

๐™„๐™ฃ ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š ๐™’๐™š๐™š๐™™๐™จ extended the warm, good feels I had after reading ๐™‡๐™ค๐™ซ๐™š๐™ก๐™ž๐™œ๐™๐™ฉ ๐™๐™–๐™ง๐™ข๐™จ. Evelyn and Beckettโ€™s love story comes together slowly, aided by the development of an easygoing, trusting friendship that culminates in the most splendid union. Theyโ€™re both incredibly likeable people with Beckett being unintentionally funny because heโ€™s a man of few words and described as a grump. Heโ€™s a grump because he has sensory issues and prefers simplicity. Evelyn is so patient and accepting of him as he is. Heโ€™s equally as patient and considerate of her need to reset her mind and life at Lovelight Farms.

The audiobook was fantastic! Itโ€™s dual narration with Pippa Jayne voicing Evelyn. Beckettโ€™s character was amusing in LF, and heโ€™s brought to life by Dane Anderson, and I couldnโ€™t get enough of it! I tend to find side characters and family members a bit tedious sometimes, but that wasnโ€™t the case here. I liked all of them.

I got into this series because of a couple of bookstafriends who raved about it. I can see why now! Itโ€™s lovely to escape into a story that features a town and characters with such sweetness and charm. To repeat myself, this book gives you all the good feels you could want!

B.K. Borison really knows how to tug at my heartstrings. There was a chapter in this book that I read 3x because it felt like she was talking to me. I love when a romance novel can make you do some self-reflection. Itโ€™s very apparent that Borison writes with her entire heart and with such care. I will continue to read every book she writes!

I didnโ€™t connect to Beckett and Evelyn as much as I did Luka and Stella from Lovelight Farms but still loved the heck out of these small town romance vibes.

I have been seeing this book all over lately. It's a cute story and I really enjoyed it but it's there's nothing seeing it apart from other books

4/5 Star - 2/5 Spice - Book #2 of Lovelight Series.

We get a second chance romance, when a one-weekend stand returns. Also , Beckett is a whole other level of my ideal fictional boyfriend: Grumpy, deep commitment to his family, only boy to multiple sisters, obsessed with caring for his three kittens and a duck! SWOON! I really enjoyed this book, I loved the reality Evelyn is managing, and the fact there may be a third act break-up is OUTSHINED with how Beckett gets Evie back.

Brief Plot: Months ago, Beckett and Evelyn spent a weekend together, until Evelyn left without a message. Months later, she is visiting for work and the two run back into each other. As Evelyn is going through confusion over her work, she seeks solace at Beckett's Christmas tree farm to reorient herself. As chemistry resurfaces, the two battle whether their relationship is just a short-term sitautionship, or could Evie stay and they continue their lives together?

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an eARC copy of the audiobook of In the Weeds, written by B. K. Borison, and narrated by Pippa Jayne and Dane Anderson This is my honest review!

I was so excited for this one, but it fell kind of flat for me. It felt very forced, and just kind of blah.

AGH this was the grumpy sunshine book I wanted! I was so excited that Borison continued the stories of Beckett and Evie. While I did not believe the chemistry int his one as much as i did in Lovelight farms- this one was still super cute and I loved the premise, and it was fun to see this one night stand turn into a second chance romance! Part of this felt very forced, and thats why my rating is the way that it is.

For those who have read B.K. Borison's book Lovelight this is a great follow-up. This book follows Beckett and Evelyn's relationship at the end of the first book. If you haven't read the first book though don't worry it is nothing that you can't figure out based on context in this story.

Two people who have responsibilities that have always. been fun now missing something in their lives that a job can't bring to the table. There is good steam, romance, and small town antics that make this book enjoyable and fun to read. This is a low stacks small-town romance that I really enjoyed. With a farmer who doesn't like going into town or interacting much with others and someone who is magnetic and outgoing makes for a great relationship. The misunderstanding make sense and make you really root for the couple.

This is a great book for someone looking for a small-town romance. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this story.

In the Weeds was a romance with potential that fell flat for me. I never felt connected to the main characters and often felt annoyed by references to the FMCโ€™s โ€œbrown skinโ€ without any other reference to her identity. It felt like a half hearted attempt at diversity without an actual commitment to building a diverse and in depth character.

I did like the farm setting, but I feel it was better done in another romance I read recently. I really wanted to like this book, but romance is all about relatable characters and In the Weeds did not deliver.

I loved the beginning and end to this book! It isnโ€™t as hallmark-y as Lovelight Farms (which I like the cheesiness of LLF). It is still cute, and more romantically intense. In the middle of the book I felt like it was filled with just spicy scenes, and I honestly kind of got sick of it. But the ending was cute and had more drama! It took me a few chapters to get used to the narratorโ€™s voice, but after awhile the voice didnโ€™t seem as dull!

I loved Evie and Beckett together. It was so great to see both of these characters grow not only separately but as a couple. And the way that they learn to trust was beautiful. The difference from this book to the first is that when the main characters are given advice it was not taken. At least not the first time after Beckett spoke with Luka he didnโ€™t listen to his advice but he did eventually listen to his fatherโ€˜s. Overall I did love this book and we definitely recommend it. I cannot wait to read the third and get Laylaโ€™s story

I loved this book more than book one! And mostly that is because of the dual POV we get. I love a dual POV in romance books so we really can get inside the heads of both main characters. I thought this one was a bit more spicy than the first one too. I loved Beckett he seemed like a big grumpy bear with lots of tattoos. But I donโ€™t think he was really grumpy, I think Beckett has a lot of sensory issues and not knowing how to deal with it and he avoids the places and sounds that bother him. But he really is the sweetest man, I loved the scenes with his kitties, family and the duck ๐Ÿฅน. It was so precious, I loved the setting of his house on the farm too it was described so cozy! I loved Evie too she was such a likeable character, I loved the attraction her and Beckett had. You really felt like they belonged together. She had such a great journey too, looking for a place that felt like home always on the go but never settling anywhere. This is such a sweet series and I canโ€™t wait to read the last one in the series. I did this as an audiobook and the narrators did such a good job! This is a second chance with a bit of friends to lovers and forced proximity. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this audiobook for review.

In the Weeds was a cute book. However, I honestly wanted to like it more. It started off STEAMY! which I loved, but it was really hard to get into the story until about halfway through the book.

I think part of it could have been that I didn't read the first book in the series, but I'm not sure if there was more to it than that.

Regardless, I did like the writing style and the character development, and I'll look to read the first book in the series to hopefully put together the story lines a bit better!

4.25/5 stars (rounded down)

Thank you Dreamscape Media for the advanced listening copy!

After a whirlwind weekend together in Maine, Beckett is completely thrown off when social media influencer Evie shows up to the farm he works at for a social media contest. He's thrown off again when she suddenly disappears. Months later, Evie is on a quest to once again find her happy, leading her back to Lovelight Farms and Beckett.

When I started this book, I wasn't aware that it was part of a series of interconnected standalones, and now I'm so excited to read the other ones! I had a little bit of a hard time getting into this at first, but once I did, I loved it! Beckett and Evie are such a cute pair and I loved the way that they both supported the other's happy throughout. The book became a bit repetitive to me and I always struggle when miscommunication is involved, but other than that I really enjoyed this one!
