Unfortunately Christmas in Paris fell flat for me and was a disappointing read. I felt myself skim reading from about 30% through and really struggled to connect with the characters. Dialogue seemed especially disjointed, I’m not sure if that was because of the language barriers between Brooke and Armund but it just didn’t flow for me. And the end was pretty abrupt and didn’t feel natural, but maybe I just didn’t understand their connection/romance?

I’ve given 2 stars for the descriptions of Paris which were lovely.

Tilly Tennant has done it again. This time she has given us a book set in Paris at Christmas.
This book pulled at my heart strings and made me smile and had me wishing I was in Paris. With every word I was pulled into the story more and more.
The author has a lot going on within the book and the entire story just connected from the first word to the last. Brooke and Felicity are so great to get to know in this book and I was glad to be along on the adventure with them.
Thank you NetGalley, Tilly Tennant and Bookouture for the ARC of Christmas in Paris. This is my personal review.

*3.5 stars*

This was a fairly easy book to read. The story had a few flat moments here and there but the descriptions of Paris at Christmas time were really great. It had a very Hallmark-toe feel to the story which I am a complete sucker for.

As the snow flutters down on the Eiffel Tower and fairy lights sparkle on the pavement cafés of Paris, meet the girl determined not to fall in love in the most romantic city in the world…

When Brooke arrives in Paris at Christmas, it feels like the perfect place to escape after being dumped by her long-term boyfriend. And while her head might be turned by the romance of couples strolling arm in arm along the riverbank, and the air scented with chocolat chaud, her heart remains firmly under lock and key – this trip is going to be about her.

Brooke might be able to resist the charms of one persuasive Frenchman who takes her to some of Paris’s most romantic spots, but when a chance encounter leads her to green-eyed Armand with his dark wavy hair and warm smile, she is annoyed to feel her heart skip a beat…

Still, what’s the harm of a holiday romance with no strings attached? Brooke is sure she can play it cool. But when Armand opens his heart to her in a candlelit restaurant and kisses her at the top of the Eiffel Tower, she throws caution to the wind. Armand isn’t her ex – and doesn’t she deserve a second chance at love?

But when Armand begins to blow hot and cold, she wonders if she has been taken for a fool. Why does he never answer his phone? Who is the mysterious tall blonde French woman who always seems to be watching Brooke? And when Armand leaves Paris without warning as Christmas Eve approaches, should Brooke try and find out more about the stranger she has found herself falling for?

A completely gorgeous romantic read that will warm you from head to toe and have you booking a trip to Paris!

Just a lovely snuggly Christmas book and one that I will definitely read again!

Brooke and her BFF Felicity head to Paris after Brooke's fiance deserts her with a plan to sell their hand made goods at the Christmas market. All good, right? Then Brooke is almost mugged! But she's rescued by a hunky Frenchman named Armand. They have what can be described as a whirlwind romance, hitting all the high spots of the city but something's not right. This is a Tilly Tenant novel so fans know there's going to be a happy ending but what kind? Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A light fun read.

Curl up with a oversized sweater, blanket, hot chocolate and plan an afternoon to read a "Christmas in Paris" in one (maybe two) setting! This is the definition of a "cozy" read...interesting characters, a well paced plot, and romance. I loved how Brooke (BOO) is totally quirky ("vintage") but learns to accept herself...that she doesn't have to be a movie star or a "posh" girl to be worthy. Armand was a great foil for her and they made quite the pair! File this one in "Books that make you grin". Big thanks to #NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

Christmas in Paris is a nice, light easy read. Unfortunately, I feel like something was missing. It seemed to lack an actual story or plot line. Sure, Brooke and Felicity, the main characters, did things in the book and there was a story to read, but it just felt empty at times. I didn't dislike the book, but I don't know that I would go out of my way to recommend it either. The true highlight of the book was reading about a Christmas Market in Paris.
Thank you though to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author, Tilly Tennant, for access to this ARC.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

This book starts outside a cathedral, where Brook is waiting for her boyfriend, whilst watching the bride arriving for her wedding, Brook has her own dreams of getting married in the same place.

But when her boyfriend turns up, he informs Brook that he’s ending their relationship.

So, with her best friend Felicity, they set off an an adventure to Paris. With help from Felicity’s cousin they plan to set up a stall at a Christmas market selling their handmade goods.

I loved reading about the adventures they have and the problems they face in their daily Paris life, the places they saw and the friends they made, some that turned into something more.

Tilly Tennant’s books are a joy to read and I look forward to the next one.

I recommend this book.

Brooke is still hurting after being dumped by her boyfriend when she sets off to Paris with her best friend and business partner, Felicity. They have rented a stall at a prestigious Christmas market and can’t wait to get started. However romantic Paris may be, Brooke is determined to focus on work and not love. What she hadn’t bargained for was meeting handsome Frenchman, Armand.
It seems like Armand is in the right place at the right time to be her knight in shining armour and Brooke’s heart skips a beat every time she sees him. Can Brooke get over her trust issues and find love again or is she destined to leave the city of love alone.

Thank you @netgalley and @bookouture for an early copy of Christmas in Paris by Tilly Tennant in exchange for an honest review. 🤍

Christmas in Paris tells the story of Brooke, who recently broke up with her long-time boyfriend and and lands an opprtunity to be in Paris to sell hers and her friend Felicity's products at Christmastime - has sworn not to fall for any Frenchmen. Then she meets Armand, a Frenchman who she begins to fall in love with.

First of all, can I just say how satisfying Brooke's breakup scene is with Johnny at the start of the novel? He cheats and breaks up with her all of a sudden and Brooke just gives him hell! You go girl! 👊🏽

This is a perfect Christmas read and made me wish I also had the opportunity to be in Paris at Christmas. Who doesn't right? This book just drew me in despite it having a slow start, really much because of the sight-seeing and just imagining the scenery, the author did such a great job describing everything Paris, it's like you're walking in Paris right then and there!

We really didn't get to see much of Armand during the first half of the book, and I would have liked to read more about him. I did love the second half of the book though, and the ending was perfect and sweet. 💖

Rating Christmas in Paris ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5! Would definitely recommend if you want a descriptive tour of Paris 😁

I do love a Tilly Tennant book. A Christmas book set in Paris, what more could you want.
Following Brooke and Felicity on their adventures at the Christmas market was a real treat. The community feel of the market was captured beautifully.
The descriptions of the city made me feel like I was there. And a handsome French man, Armand, added a mysterious element.
One not to be missed. A lovely heartwarming book to snuggle down with.
It hooked me in and I couldn’t put it down.
Many thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the early copy in which I give my honest opinion.

Brooke watches other people getting married. Will she ever get her turn? She goes to Paris with best friend Felicity and finds love. Loved Felicity and Brooke's friendship. So warm. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me review this book.

This book really made me want to go to Paris at Christmastime. I love books that transport me to new places, and this one did just that.
I flew through this book, although the beginning was kind of slow, it picked up pretty quickly and the middle section flew by in my opinion. The ending got slowed down a little bit, but there wasn't that much of an impact on my feelings by that point.
I absolutely LOVED that our characters were so caring about each others emotions. They were so amazing, I was so excited when I saw our characters making sure each other were okay before moving forward. I loved it so much.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for this eARC.

As other fans of her books will no doubt agree, Tilly Tennant writes great Christmas stories. The pull of the festive season in Paris coupled with the promise of romance from the wonderful cover had me excited to read her latest Christmas offering.

The story focuses on Brooke and her best friend and business partner, Felicity. Brooke is heart-broken after being dumped by her long-time boyfriend and both girls hope that a month in Paris selling their custom-made jewellery and fabric products at the Christmas markets may help her recover. The one thing that Brooke is adamant about is that she is not going to succumb to the charms of any Frenchmen, no matter how romantic the setting. However, she didn’t count on a chance meeting with the dashingly handsome Armand. Trying to keep their relationship low key doesn’t work, and soon she is falling in love. However, Brooke suddenly finds herself in the middle of a mystery, and at the same time Armand begins to behave in a strange way and odd things happen to herself and Felicity. She is left wondering if she has been foolish to let a man into her heart or if she should continue to find out more about him.

This is a lovely Christmassy story, with romance and mystery mixed in with the sparkling lights and tinsel, set against the backdrop of this famously glamorous city. The reader is taken on a tour of the sights and to many exotic locations, the writing so powerful that the sounds and smells of Paris came floating right off the page. I loved that there was an element of intrigue built into the story, taking it to a new level, with danger lurking in the background of the festivities. The central characters in the story are interesting and well developed. I particularly liked Felicity with her bold, no-nonsense attitude while being fiercely protective of her friend. Of course, who could not be attracted to Armand, a courteous and handsome companion with whom to stroll the streets of Paris. I would recommend this as a book which should definitely join the list to read this Christmas.

I always enjoy Tilly Tennant’s books, and this time it was a trip to Paris and the Christmas market. This is definitely a book to curl up and loose yourself in the experience of Paris, the wooden chalets that make up the Christmas market and the fine dining restaurants.

I liked both Brooke and Felicity, they were not only business partners but also best friends who looked out for each other. Add a sprinkle of mystery, romance and the supportive community of market traders and for me this was an excellent read.

I was kindly gifted this book to review by Bookouture via Netgalley. I enjoyed this book. The setting is in a city i've only dreamt of visiting. I loved the explorations of multiple different times of relationships ,romantic, friendship- loved the LGBTQ representation. As a person who studied French for 8 years and is well versed with French culture and surroundings the first half of the booked was more detail then i would need but it would be very insightful for others to set the scene of the story. I'm a person who doesn't like books that are overly descriptive i like ones that give a general idea and then get into the meat of the story and it felt like this book took quite some time to get into the real center of the story, a lot of readers love this style of writing its just not my cup of tea. The second half of the book is a different story, I couldn't put it down once the main plot began. I loved the ending very fitting, sweet and adorable.. I generally gravitate towards quick and easy reads and this was more of a slow down and take your time type of book. Which I feel its the upcoming holiday season perfectly!
