What a heartbreaking and poignant story, it starts off with Cassie missing her sister who disappeared years ago and how she copes with how her life changes in an instant I advise anyone reading this to have a large box of tissues close by unless you’re like me and read it alone. It’s beautifully written and the author captures how each character deals with their losses in an extremely clever and sensitive way.

The Child Between Us is such an amazing story of heartache, love and family.
The emotion will have you in tears and you won’t want this story to end.
There are not enough words to describe how this story made me feel. It was a great book and o can not wait to get my hands on more books by this author.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and five hankies…..
From the moment I met Cassie, on the first page of this book, I was drawn into her story, pulling her deep into my heart—that feeling never waning through the entirety of this beautiful novel, my heart expanding with affection for Marina, Grant, Isla, and Sadie. There is something inherently special about Alison Ragsdale’s books; her ability to place readers right into the hearts, minds, and souls of her characters is a gift. I felt as if I were right there with Cassie, navigating the twists and turns of the huge changes to her life—side by side as she works her way through grief, pain, forgiveness, and a depth of love for her family that took my breath away. Every ache and every tear, every smile and every moment of joy and peace, were a testament to the wide range of emotions that I felt in every crevice of my heart. It is difficult to say goodbye to these characters, but I know I’ll never forget them.

This is such an intriguing story. So sad and happy rolled into one.

The relationships Marina has with her family is tricky at first but also lovely.

If I share too much of my review I will give away spoilers, but what I will say, is grab the tissues they will be needed.

I love the style of writing that Alison uses, it's so enticing and beautiful, giving hints of the story to come without giving away too much.

If there were more stars available for this book I would give them. This story is about the love of family, emotional and gut wrenching in places. Cassie is unexpectedly thrust into motherhood and finds it not only difficult but very satisfying. As usual with this author she does such an excellent job describing the settings you feel you are actually in these places right along with the characters. In addition, the characters are also described in such a way you know exactly what they look like and their actions are believable. I often wondered what I would do if I was in those scenarios. I cannot recommend this book enough for any woman, mother or not. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley and the publisher.mall opinions expressed are my own.

Love… such a big word even tough it only has four letters…

There are so many kinds of love: between friends, between family members, between partners, between human and animal, between parents and children,…., but they all mean the same. You want to do everything for those you love and to protect them against all things bad.

Life… another big word with only four letters….

It can give you so many beautiful things, but on the other hand it can be really cruel too.

“Life’s what you make it” sings Talk Talk and they are absolutely right. There is a lot you can do and there are different paths you can choose, but some things just happen. There is nothing that can be done about them even though you try and fight with all you have.

“You should live your life to the fullest”, I heard someone say recently and they are right. You never know what tomorrow brings. People are often complaining about trivial things, but maybe we should focus on the lovely little things we have: a child’s smile, a lover’s kiss, a wagging tail of your furry friend,…

Sometimes something devastating can bring people together. That is one important thing I learned from this story. You have to take some hurdles first and find it in your heart to forgive.

The author has written a very gripping and emotional book, bringing tears to my eyes more than once.

I saw how Cassie, Sadie, Marina and Grant changed under the influence of new goals in life and fighting the same battle. 5 stars

Thank you

I absolutely love this authors books and I knew once I started this book everything else would need to be put on hold as I wouldn’t be able to stop reading it or put it down. As always this author has written about real life sensitive and thought provoking topics and got to the heart of the human condition. And bringing them to the forefront and out in the open

This book was a Roller coaster
Of emotions as it kept tearing my heart into pieces and putting them back together again only for another heartbreaking and painful decision to have to be made.

This book is one of my best reads of 2022 so far and will stay with me for
A long time

This book was sent to me by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher for the electronic copy. This is a cannot put down novel that reads like nonfiction. The characters are likable and care about friends and family. The story moves quickly with obvious progression yet with some secrets. It is a book that stays with the reader...I will remember parts of it for awhile. I hope others read this book as it is one of a kind with some intense details. Don't miss this book.

I read this book in one sitting. It is gripping and poignant, and there was no way I was putting it down until I finished every single word. Alison Ragsdale is known for writing books about mothers and daughters, but this one is much more complex than just that relationship. It's also about the blind love between twin sisters that endures despite the curve balls life throws at them. It's also about the love between a man and woman even after a long-term relationship ends. And it's about the love a small child has for all of the important adults in her life. This is a story about adversity in so many forms and strong characters striving to persevere despite all of the obstacles. Make no mistake. This story will evoke tears as you walk beside the characters and just wish you could reach inside the pages to hug someone. There are no easy answers found here, but I did wonder more than once what I would do in their place, if my solution would be the same, if I would even have half their strength. This isn't necessarily an easy book to read. But it is one that will stay with me for a long, long time and keep me reading every new book this author writes. It's that good. Thank you to Alison Ragsdale and #NetGalley for my copy. This book will publish on September 28, 2022.

Do not read this book unless you want to cry!!! What an emotional story! This is a story about two estranged twins and one dies. The other is left to raise her daughter. She endures her own battles once she takes her niece back to live with her. There were so many good things about this story. Relationships mending, loving characters, but get the tissues! I did feel it was slow moving in the middle though.
