A rollercoaster of a read. Clever plot and hard to put down. Will look out for future books from this author. Thanks, netgalley for the ‘read now’ recommendation.

This is Matthew Farrell at his suspense, thrill-after-thrill best. I love how the tie of mother to daughter propels this book, and, through the last page, it is about how far a woman will go for family, including the secrets they she keep, no matter the cost to herself. The twist in the final chapter was perfection--so don't you dare put that book down until you get through the last page!!!

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the copy of We Have Your Daughter. The first part of this book kept me glued to the pages and I loved the menacing feel. Laura, the main character, was kind of a mess and I didn’t connect with her actions or thoughts. I started to lose interest in the second part of the book and it’s too bad the first part wasn’t longer. The ending was good and tied everything together and I enjoyed the surprise. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

This was good! From the beginning I was nervous, at the edge of my seat and NEEDing to know the ending. I flew through this in one seating and really enjoyed it. I went in blind and I'm glad I did because I didn't know what to expect. This is my first novel from Farrell and I can't wait to dive into more.

Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. Matthew Farrell lives just outside of New York City in the Hudson Valley with his wife and two daughters. This is my first book of Matthew's and I did enjoy it.
Although the story is fiction, it reads like nonfiction, true crime, at times. I am happy to recommend it.
4 stars

A new author and a slighty different kind of book to read as was with main character as she went on her journey from the church until the end of the book. Very fast paced and got you thinking what the character was going to do next. Thankyou for advanced copy and will look out for next.

We Have Your Daughter by M. Farrell, published by Bookouture, is a story that had me on the edge of my seat. Complex, angsty, fast paced, full of twists and unexpected turns kept me WHYD in suspense right from the start.
Laura, the typical woman and mother it seems, get a call that's about to change just every single thing for her and her loved ones. Secrets believed well hidden are about to come out and a race against time leads her down a bumpy road.
An outstanding read from this new to me author I recommend the book, 5 stars.

Wow, what a read!! From the first page, I was hooked. The short chapters meant I didn’t want to put this down, and the flashback scenes kept the narrative super engaging, as we were able to try to piece the story together ourselves.

We were fed pieces of information throughout the book, right to the end. I really enjoyed the pacing of this, as we’d been learning about the mystery surrounding Betty, and Nelle’s kidnappers throughout the whole book, I was very satisfied with the ending.

Laura as a main character was very intriguing. Her poor decision making should make her an extremely unlikable character, yet I was rooting for her the entire story. This made for some interesting debates with myself whilst reading, and really got me thinking deeply about her character, which often I don’t find with thrillers as they are often plot focussed.

Overall, If you’re looking for a fast paced and suspenseful but emotional thriller, I would highly recommend this book, and I will definitely be picking up more Matthew Farrell books in the future.

Thank you to netgalley and Bookouture for this arc!

Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and Mathew Farrell for letting me read “We Have Your Daughter” in exchange for an honest review.

Mathew Farrell is a new author to me. But this won’t be the last novel I’ll be reading by him.

This was a banger, a winner! Action right from the start, lots of things happening with a touch of mystery.

Laura has a good live on the surface. A good husband on the force and a beautiful teenage daughter, Nelle. She works on a pharmacy, attends church and is invested in the community. But things are not as they seem. Laura has a dark past and secrets, in the present she is struggling with alcohol addiction and abusing medication.

So one day, on the way home from church, Laura gets a call on a strange phone, hidden in her car. It’s her daughter, sounding distressed. It turns out Nelle is kidnapped by an unknown person. The man claims to have Nelle and Laura’s mother. He calls her Betty. He is convinced that Betty has killed his mother years and years ago, being the reason why he and his sister ended up in foster care.

Is Laura Betty or is it all a mistake?
What is Laura hiding?
Why is she abusing alcohol and medicine?
Will she be able to be there in time to save her daughter?

The story is told in third person POV. We mainly accompany Laura on her journey to rescue her daughters. We also get glimpses of Betty’s past and thoughts from the kidnapper as well as a police officer. It’s an interesting mix.
This is a no-nonsense-thriller. It throws you right into the action, which I liked very much. It’s easy to read and easy to follow, it kept me engaged all the time. A super good thriller all in all!

This book was sent to me by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher for the electronic copy. Although the story is fiction, it reads like nonfiction, true crime, at times. It could happen. It might have happened. I may be happening. The book is a mystery that has so many red herrings...it is difficult to discern the ending...don't try...just read and wait. The characters come alive on the pages...let's hope they are not our neighbors. This author is talented at writing a cannot put down mystery...I could not stop reading. I wanted to read the ending first...I kept hoping it was a dream and not real.

Well crafted characters, an underlying sense of menace and an immersive narrative combine for a suspenseful, one sit read.
The kind of twisty, jet-fueled thriller that explodes on page one and has you happily abandoning work, sleep, and life as you race to the stunning end. Don't miss it!

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. This was my first book by Matthew and I really enjoyed it! Laura is on her way home when a mysterious phone in her car rings. Someone from her past has her daughter. It's a race to see if she can get there in time to save her. Past lies come to play and the reader gets all these shocks and suspense throughout the chapters. There was some parts that made me cringe, but overall this was a good book! I found it hard to put down.

Wow. Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. I Cannot get enough of kidnapping books. Lots to share on this one. It's a sad story in the fact you see how bitter people can be and blame others for mistakes. Also sad that families have allowed things like this to tear them apart. Laura is driving home from a church function when she gets a call that her daughter has been kidnapped. Laura's past is revealed in small chunks, and she is forced to face mistakes she made. The suspense was good. Little secrets were revealed to fit the big picture every few chapters. There were a lot of jaw dropping moments in this book. I just feel it was a little gruesome in parts. other than that, all good things to say about this.
