This is the second book in the Primrose Woods series however it can absolutely be read as a stand alone. Following the lives of Abbey & Sam, Lizzie, Luke and Rhi - it's a small town feel good, festive read. I hadn't read the first one and it definitely didn't affect my enjoyment of the book. The characters were all very likable and I'd like to go back and read the first one now to see how the story initially panned out.

This felt like a hug in a book - I read it in two sittings! The type of story you should curl up on the couch with a warm drink under a blanket and enjoy! A sweet, heartwarming easy read that would be perfect for the Christmas season!

Thanks to @netgalley @boldwoodbooks and @jill.steeples for this gifted arc. As always this is an honest review.

Snowflakes Over Primrose Woods is full of kindness and holiday cheer!

Snowflakes Over Primrose Woods is the second book in the Primrose Woods series, and fans of this series won't be disappointed with the latest installment. I recommend reading the first book before starting this book because you may feel a little lost in this story if you don't. Jill's writing has this genuine feel to it. This story is so beautifully written, and I found myself going on this wonderful emotional rollercoaster ride with her characters while reading this book.

This story takes place during the weeks leading up to Christmas. The three female leads, Lizzie, Abbey, and Rhi, are all friends and are excited about the holiday season, but life decides to throw different curve balls at them. Lizzie's daughter Katy has returned home with her two kids. Abbey and her boyfriend Sam hit a rough patch in their relationship. Rhi, who is excited and scared to start her own business, has just found out that Luke (her secret crush) is moving away after the holidays. This story is told from Lizzie, Abbey, and Rhi's POVs, and all three women are at different stages of their lives and dealing with very different problems. In this book, Jill did a great job continuing each of these characters' stories. She stays true to their character's essence while adding new "drama" to their lives. I felt like I had just settled right back into this series with such ease and was excited to be back with these three leading ladies.

One of the great things about having a story with three female main characters is you get three love stories! They were all just so cute and heart-warming. Jill really knows how to get her reader's heart pitter-pattering and leave us with those wondering about those butterflies in our stomachs feelings. The main relationship focus was on Abbey and Sam and Rhi and Luke. At the beginning of this story, Abbey and Sam are in a really good place in their relationship, but a person from Sam's past puts strain on these two. I was not expecting their relationship to hit a rough patch, and my emotions were going up and down with these two. As much as I hate seeing some of my favourite characters have relationship problems, I felt that having Abby and Sam go through this added depth and realism to their relationship. And don't worry, these two get their happy ever after ending. Rhi and Luke have an interesting past; they were colleagues. During that time, Luke liked Rhi, but she wasn't interested in him; then they became friends, and Rhi realized she liked Luke, but he didn't seem interested in starting a relationship with her. The timing with these two just never seemed to work out. In this book, Rhi realizes that she only spends a limited time with Luke before he leaves. There is a lot of will they or won't they between these two. But those moments when they start giving in to their emotions are so tender and sweet.

Snowflakes Over Primrose Woods has all that romantic charm, and heart readers come to expect from a Jill Steeples novel.

Thank you, Boldwood Books and Rachel Random Resources for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Snowflakes over Primrose Woods by Jill Steeples

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to Rachel's Random Resources and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Blurb

Winter has arrived in Primrose Woods bringing with it new loves, new adventures and warm hugs on cold days.

Abbey Carter, her boyfriend Sam and their trusty canine companion Lady, relish living in the picturesque village of Wishwell at the edge of their beloved Primrose Woods. The woods and the country park are full of activity as the festive season approaches.

Lizzie Baker is flat out at the Treetops café, serving all sorts of winter warmers, festive goodies and lashings of hot chocolate. And when her daughter and grandchildren arrive to stay, the run up to Christmas is set to be even more magical than she had expected.

Rhianna West has finally found the perfect man to fall in love with – if only Luke wasn’t moving away in the New Year.

My Opinion

I have read this as a standalone and I don't think that has spoilt my enjoyment. This is the second festive book I have read by Jill Steeples and both have been very enjoyable - this will leave you with that Christmas joy. A lovely, feel-good read that takes you on a journey of self-discovery.

The characters in this book are all lovely and now I feel the need to go back and read more about them. I hope there is more to come from this series.

I was thrilled to discover a second instalment in this series and couldn’t wait to start reading. Primrose Woods, and the lovely village of Wishwell, create a Christmas-card-perfect setting for this romance-filled story.
When we left the last book, Lizzie and Rhianna were heading to Australia and Abbey had found love with Sam. As this book opens, all the characters are back together and looking forward to sharing Christmas celebrations together at Lizzie’s cottage. Reviewing without spoiling this or the previous book may be a challenge, but I’ll do my best and follow what is already revealed by the synopsis.
Having overcome her fear of flying, Lizzie has finally visited her daughter in Australia and met her grandchildren. She is therefore surprised to discover them on her doorstep with an announcement that they are all moving back to the UK. Unfazed by the new development, Lizzie simply tweaks her plans to create a fabulous Christmas packed with friends and family.
Meanwhile, Abby and Sam have to overcome a shock and Rhianna is gutted to learn that Luke has a new job in a town over an hour away. Perhaps she has missed her chance to reveal her feelings.
I just loved this book and the seemingly effortless way that Jill Steeples pulled all the storylines together. There was a strong feeling of the Christmas spirit, and I loved the character of Lizzie’s granddaughter, Rosie. That childhood enthusiasm is one of the many joys of the festive period.
I was worried that this may be the end of the short series, but I have everything crossed for a third book as the antipodean family find their feet back in Wishwell. There’s also an opportunity to catch up with the couples as they enjoy their happiness.
I loved this book and wholeheartedly recommend that you curl up with this lovely, festive treat.

This is a beautifully written, feel good festive read. Lovely friendly characters and a picturesque sounding location. One or two little surprises pop up here and there within the story and also a very important lesson to be learned about snooping where you shouldn't. A definite must read.

So lovely to catch up with Abbey and Sam, Lizzie and Bill , Rhi and Luke again and carry on with their stories.
Abbey has accidentally discovered her hidden Christmas presents from Sam which includes a ring
Lizzie is planning a quiet Christmas with Bill until she gets some unexpected visitors
Rhi has returned from her trip to Australia and meets up with her friend Luke again who she would dearly love to be more than just friend with
Will they all get what they want at Christmas?
A lovely festive read. Really enjoyed it

A feel good read which was hard to put down and read in one sitting,

It felt great to be back and catching up with the residents of Primrose Woods. Finding out how Abbey and Sam, as well as Lizzie and Bill, Rhia and Luke, and what’s happening in their lives. It was fabulist too be back in the beautiful setting of primrose wood and to reconnect

A story, much more than romance, about finding happiness again and how wishes can come true.

I'm hoping there will be another book in this series.

I highly recommend this book.

If you want sweet, pure escapism, this is the book for you.
Every character is pretty much perfect and any little negative aspects are ironed out before the end of the book.
I'd love to live in a place like Primrose Woods where all the men are drop dead gorgeous and where it snows at Christmas.
I didn't feel like a lot happened in the book, it just told a Christmassy heart-warming story.
If only real life was just a shade like this!

Snowflakes Over Primrose Woods

by Jill Steeples #SnowflakesOverPrimroseWoods #NetGalley #christmas

Abby Carter and her boyfriend Sam are now well-established in the communities, and we have just added a few extras from the first book. These people's friends and families are all intertwined in this small village.

Jan and Mac, Rhianna and Luke, Connor and Ruby, Bill and Katy, and, later, Jackson Moody and Tara are all characters. Even the grandchildren, Pip and Libby, are moved by what Christmas means to the young family.

Even a brief mention of the novel's characterisation. All of them, along with their friends, have different ideas for making Christmas perfect, whether it's a Christmas tree sledging welding hulk or a barn owner and their very own Santa Claus! Each chapter has a distinct point of view from the one before it.

I was looking forward to reading this book but I couldn't finish it. While I'm a great believer in escapism, this was too sugary sweet for me

This book was sent to me by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher for the electronic copy. Likable characters make this book.. the setting adds to the story. I liked this book. I really liked this book. Linear time…third person..not a million voices to sort. No language to ignore…just a good cozy romance about friends and family…Christmas time…children…loved ones…awww…we need more books like this. Curl up in a cozy chair with a comfy blanket and a cup of steaming herbal tea…be transported to Primrose Woods, and the people there. The characters come alive on the pages. I can’t wait to read more books about these characters. The author is talented and gifted at writing a cannot put down romance.
