Magic galore. While this story has to galore of magic that I love to see and will always read if there is any hint of it. One thing that stuck out for me was that when reading the book the timeline just didn’t flow for me personally (but that’s me being nit-picky). Despite that, if I were reading this as a younger reader, it would be something that would captivate and enjoy. I plan on recommending this for my niece.

An interesting story that merges the authors love of several fictional genres. The story follows a slightly awkward, but love able, teen as he attempts to develop a special talent that has been dormant most of his life. His two best friends and his family join in the journey. Filled with magic and drama, it’s a story you might like if you enjoy comic heroes and Harry Potter.

I enjoyed getting to know Marko Fember and his fire-magic, he was a great main character and I enjyoed getting to know him. This was a great start to the Aardon Chronicles series, it was a great young adult fantasy novel and I was invested in what was going on in the plot. The characters other than Marko were well written characters as well and enjoyed what was going on. I look forward to reading more from Matthew J. Stott and can't wait to read where this series will go.

"Slowly but surely, Marko’s mother was able to force her hands through the barrier and onto the other side. Isabelle grabbed hold of them and started to pull, finding herself in a tug-of-war match with the barrier. With Isabelle pulling and Marko’s mother pushing, she eventually managed to get her whole body through the barrier until she stumbled through it, Isabelle catching her on the other side."
