The Three Loves of Sebastian Cooper was my first book by author Zoe Folbigg. I enjoyed her writing style and the characters were easy to like.

At Sebastian Coopers funeral we meet 3 women, his ex wife Clair, childhood sweetheart and mother to his 2 children, Desiree, his ex lover and Noemie his new love. The story takes us back throughout his life with alternate chapters to the funeral.
There are references to the day of his death it it's not until the end that we are told what happened but this doesn't detract from the story.

An interesting novel about an average man who falls in love with three different women during his life. Told in past and present time, the reader slowing follows the life of Sebastian Cooper.

The first women is his first love and wife Clair, with whom he has 2 children. Their story is one of growing up and starting a life together. Next comes Desiree who he falls in love with unexpectedly. Last is the beautiful and volatile Noemie.. Each of the women are very different as is Sebastian when he is with them. It is a readable and interesting read with a slight twist at the end. Good potential as a book club pick

Sebastian Cooper knew 3 women throughout his life.
Clair his ex wife, childhood sweetheart and mother of 2 of his children.
Desiree his ex lover and the woman he left Clair for.
Noemie his new lover and the last to see him alive.
Together they are gathered in his funeral each of them battling her own fears and problems and angry for what Seb done to them.
The story alternate between the past and present moving us throughout Seb's life since he knew Clair and what happened between them then meeting the other 2 woman and at last his death and how he died.
The story started slowly at first then accelerated.
It was enjoyable and gripping and I highly recommend you to read it.

The three loves of Sebastian Cooper by Zoe Folbigg is about a man and the three women in his life he claims to have loved. From the opening scene at Sebastions funeral I just kept on turning the pages. This is a very well written book that is very easy to read and before you know it you have finished the book. Recommend for a quick juicy read. With thanks to Netgalley in exchange for honest review.

This is a story that follows the three lives that Sebastian Cooper had with his three ladies. It jumped between Clair his childhood sweetheart, Desiree, his second and Noemie, his third. The book jumps between the three lives constantly and also the funeral day. To be honest, I found this slightly difficult if I wasn't reading the chapter headings to know what date I was reading about!. This reason made me drop a star.
Otherwise it was a very emotional book which made me cry, smile and also relate to those feelings at sad times, as described by the author. . It was very good and I enjoyed it.
Many thanks to Netgalley for the free ARC book for an honest review.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

Attending Sebastian Coopers funeral are his ex wife Clair, his childhood sweetheart and mother to his 2 children as well as Desiree, his ex lover, and Noemie his new love.

We read about his life in every other chapter to the funeral, with testimonials to the day of his death.

But we don’t find out what happened until the end of the book, but this doesn’t in any way take away from the story.

This wasn’t what I was expecting at all! But I so enjoyed it. The past and present timeline is a favourite of mine and this author wrote it well. I do think there were only 2 loves of Sebastian Cooper, though!

A well written book that explores some of things we find out about people after they die and whether or not the things we find out color our feelings about them.

My word, what a wonderful book, my first by Zoe Folbigg but definitely not my last. I dragged out my reading of it for as long as I could because I really didn't want to finish it.
This is a brilliant character driven drama that draws you in from the beginning and left me in tears at the end! I know I'll definitely come back to it again some time in the future.

I have been a fan of Zoe Folbigg since I heard of her heartwarming and uplifting story, The Note. When The Three Loves of Sebastian Cooper popped up, I couldn't say no and thank heavens I didn't! I devoured this book and completed it in 3 days! Zoe Folbigg drives a character-driven storyline woven with a tsunami of sentiments and emotions. The life of Seb Cooper at different stages is brought to life by three women who love him. Clair, his high school sweetheart and the mother of his two children; Desi, his work wife and lover and Noemie, his online dating match and the woman who last saw him alive. We are time travelling through past and present events, and Zoe navigates these transitions easily, making it easy for the reader to keep track of the narrative. Divided into three distinct parts, family and friendship dynamics are brought to the fore along with passion, romance, conflict and lingering melancholy. Plenty of moments teared me up, and by the end, I deeply felt the void of Seb Cooper. A haunting, lasting and yet beautiful ending is the cherry on top, making this book one of my favourite reads this year. A 5-star read! Do not skip this book if you love fiction, drama and character-driven books.

The Three Loves Of Sebastian Cooper

One of those books that sucks you in immediately and you’ll struggle to put down.

I loved it. Absolutely devoured the story. It’s told through different POV’s and time periods but it always makes sense, you know where you are through clear and wonderful story telling.

Sebastian is a brilliant character, flawed (aren’t we all) but so realistic, so rounded and vivid. He makes mistakes, he screws up, he goes through bad times but my lasting opinion is that he’s a good guy. I loved the relationship he had with his children.

The book moves us through different phases of his life, and his loves - Clair, Desiree and Noemie. Three extremely different ladies who affect Sebastian in very different ways. I don’t want to give any spoilers but two I adored and one I wanted to throttle! She is a master of manipulation but I will leave it up to you to read and discover!

I need some of my friends to read this so we can discuss! Without a doubt, 5 stars!

Character Driven Tale..
A tragic event brings three women face to face. Who was Sebastian Cooper and what really were the loves in his life. The reader is taken into each tale of each of the women as the narrative flicks between past and present. A character driven and emotional tale, well drawn with twists, ample tension and, perhaps, some wholly unexpected events.

I did enjoy his book, the writing and story and characters but did think it was at times a bit slow, not that that is always a bad thing but on occasion I wanted it to speed up,was quite emotive and interesting and I favoured Sara if am honest, unusual premise for w book but on the whole it did work

Seb and Clair are teenage sweethearts who marry young but what happens when kids and mortgages come long? Seb while not the nicest character ever written has somehow managed to get three women to fall in love with him. Folbig's strength is in her storytelling and secondary characters who lend colour to the age old tale of man getting his head turned by a younger woman while his wife brings up the kids. Despite the fact that we open at Seb's funeral not even his tragic death can redeem him from.being a bit of a cad. Worth reading for the storytelling alone despite an unlikeable central character

Flipping between the day of Sebastian's funeral and the various lives he had with his three "loves" (I would argue that there are really only 2 loves and one massive mistake!) along with his extremely complex family situation, this book has many characters to keep up with and place within the various family and friend groups. I found the first few chapters tough going until I had read enough for the names to slot into the relationships and clear the confusion.
I felt for Clair and for Desiree, both of whom came across as very likable women in an impossible situation but I truly detested Noemie with her neediness, whining and overly dramatic need for attention!
great writing to elicit such strong emotional reactions to a fictional woman!!

Thank you Netgalley and Boldwood Books for a digital copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book flips between the day of Seb’s funeral, and his past with each of the three women. I liked this format and enjoyed how the information was revealed throughout.

I loved the premise of this book, but based on the synopsis, I was hoping and expecting for it to be a bit more of a thriller. This book had a lot of drama, but also a lot of characters to keep track of (some of which honestly seemed unnecessary to me). Sorry to say this just didn’t grab my attention in the way I had hoped it would.

Thank you to #NetGalley for letting me read an advance copy in exchange for an honest review. The titular three former loves of Sebastian Cooper meet again at his funeral, and the book unravels in snippets of their (and their families’) pasts with Sebastian and their present, told in alternating chapters. The plot flowed nicely, and while I found some of the time leaps a little jarring, I enjoyed getting to know the women, and to trying to understand the man who left them behind.

Wow, What a fantastic book! I’m so glad I chose to request this one. There’s plenty of tension and surprising plot twists throughout.

Sebastian Cooper's three loves are introduced to us at his funeral, and through flashbacks, we are given a detailed account of his life. This narrative includes all of the following themes: love, family, joy, and heartbreak. Even though it's heartbreaking, it offers hope and a new perspective on romantic relationships and the difficulties we all experience.

Overall, I would certainly recommend you picking up a copy and reading this page turner!

Thanks so much to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read and review this brilliant arc.

As friends and family gather for the funeral of charming and charismatic Seb Cooper, three women sit in the congregation, mourning his loss.
First there is Clair, Seb’s wife and partner of twenty years, and mother of his two children. Furious at Seb for dying and leaving their children without a father, Clair isn’t sure of her place, and has been left baffled and bemused by the conflicting stories of Seb’s last days.
Then there’s Desiree, the woman Seb left Clair for. Heartbroken, self-conscious, and wondering if she made a mistake coming today.
And the third and noisiest mourner of all is Noemie Seb’s lover and the last woman to see him alive.
Three women who loved Seb in their own different ways.
Three women whose lives have now changed forever.
But only one woman knows what really happened at the end and only one truly had his heart.
Really enjoyed this book totally recommend
