I loved this series - even at the same time where it maybe hit a little to close to home pandemic wise. The series focuses in on the pacific northwest after an apocalyptic type of illness wipes out most of the population. The survivors are let not only fighting for their lives - but also against each other. Finn and his brother survived and have been working together with a small group of survivors on their family's ranch. They have also banded together with a strong group of others to try and rebuild. Finn has been through it - kidnapped, tortured - but still standing. He's been very interested in Georgia for a while - but the timing hasn't been right. Georgia is a former soldier - one of the few survivors who is trained in the things the survivors need to stand up to the would-be dictators and pretty terrible humans who want to take control.

Georgia and Finn are great together - but this story is much less about their relationship than it is about finishing the story arc. I really liked that Georgia stayed very true to her character and was the bad ass she really was. I think where the book fell a little short for me was in the overall storyline. There was a lot to wrap up - and I felt like the book was both rushed at times and dragged at others. The pacing was just off.

Overall - I really enjoyed the series!

I received this via NetGalley as an ARC, but these opinions are all my own.

Requiem by Susanna Strom is book five in her World Fallen series.

Book five is Finn’s story. Finn wants a full relationship now. Georgia wants to wait for better days. Will love be put on hold?

This installment of Susanna Strom’s World Fallen series continues her successful string of sci-fI thrillers. It maintains the series continuity and reads perfectly as a standalone. The story is revealed through the alternating viewpoints of the major characters with appropriate chapter headers. The action and details are appropriately paced for an exciting, attention-holding read. The plot is again, especially compelling. The characters, new and old, are well-rounded with complete backstories and continue to wow. The romance smartly enhances the storyline. Requiem strikes the perfect balance of elements and is a 5 out of 5 star read that I highly recommend to all readers of apocalyptic sci-fi thrillers.

My thanks to Independent Publishers Group, Cougar Creek Publishing LLC, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

Finn and Georgia are up and boy did their story pack a punch! As final books go this one hit it out of the park. Finn is as honorable and dutiful people left in the world. Kindhearted and loving. Its very very hard for Georgia to keep him at arms length. Terrified to loose him before they even start she decides that once the war is over their time will come. Love does not follow a timetable and as the stakes become higher and the danger closer than they ever thought she may just loose the battle she is waging against her own heart. Everyone will fight and risk it all for a chance at freedom from oppression and the right to live in this new world as they see fit. Incredible story and the journey has been a pleasure I will never forget!

This series has been such a rollercoaster to read , set in a pandemic so very much a setting that resonates. The characters we've grown to love still have battles to fight as this new world is anything but safe and lawful.
Finn is the sweet cowboy with his eye on Georgia the woman with a warriors heart and sense of duty. They started as friends and allies but Georgia has been keeping Finn at a distance because she knows her part in the battles ahead are far from over. Yet when Finns harrowing past becomes Georgia's all to real future will she snatch what she can or maybe miss out completely ?
This is the conclusion of this fabulous series full of action, suspense and yes sweet romance that turns up the heat. There are truly vile characters here to offset the ones we want to cheer for and at times I felt genuine anxiety because I'm so invested in these wonderful characters who live on the ranch. I sincerely recommend this series because it's exciting but also full of heart and the cover art is simple but stunning .
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
