Thank you for the digital copy, I ended up receiving a physical copy and will be reading and reviewing on my socials that way. Thank you again for the digital ARC.

A YA version of The Lion's Den meets The Woman in Cabin 10 - really just an enjoyable thriller set at Semester at Sea. Jade's always wanted to travel, but she didn't expect she'd be trapped on a cruiseliner with her ex and her ex best friend. DRAMAAAAAA! There's so much gaslighting in this book, you really can't know what's real until the end. While certain plot points of this book were inevitable, I did enjoy the foreshadowing throughout. Plus it left me craving answers as to what happened NEXT with that bonkers ending.
*Thank you to Razorbill and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review*

This was a quick YA thriller I read in one sitting. It was enjoyable and I'm always looking for new YA thrillers but it didn't feel like it had anything new. There were twists but nothing I haven't seen before. The cruise murder misery was a fun aspect but the way the characters interacted was so unrealistic

This was really fun, which doesn't surprise me as I'd enjoyed previous books by Diana Urban as well. This one is the best so far, I think. The concept of semester at sea was just fantastic! It also gave me some Agatha Christie vibes, I can always appreciate that. Fans of young adult thrillers will be pleased with this one.

Wow! All I can say is wow! Another amazing book by Diana. I am very thankful to be on her street team and was able to receive an early copy of this book. This is definitely Diana’s best book yet. There were so many twists and turns that I did not see coming and some I did see coming and I loved every minute of it. This is definitely one of my new favorite books. Murder mystery on a cruise ship traveling around the Mediterranean honestly, what better book is there? If you love a good murder, mystery with lots of twists and turns, this is the book for you.

Heart pounding thriller that left me on the edge of my seat. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. Definitely one of the best books this year.

What a ride! This was thrilling, fast-paced, and completely brilliant. I had absolutely no idea how this was going to go and no idea who could’ve done it. This was a great mystery from start to finish and I LOVED all the twists and turns.

As with all of Diana Urban's books, I really enjoyed this one. This semester at sea turned murder mystery has a intriguing cast and plenty of drama. I really liked the protagonist, Jade, although she is definitely an impulsive decision-maker and sometimes this book had me yelling at her. But the book had what started to look like a predictable twist but then turned into an actual surprise twist, and the very last page of the book had an ending I was absolutely not expecting. Any fans of YA thriller will love every single one of Diana Urban's books, and this one continues to be on par!

This was a good YA thriller. I did get annoyed with the characters at points. But I loved the over all setting on this one. I was hooked in and wanted to see what happened. Not the best YA thriller I’ve read but still good.

Thank you Diana and publisher for sending me an arc in exchange for my honest review.
wow. just wow. in order not to spoil the book for everyone, I will be giving snapshots of what happened.
The characters and my feelings
- Lainey: I felt that she was really mean to Jade, and I wonder if there is a reason...
- Jade: The main character. A lot of self-pitying on her end for the first few chapters, looks like the victim, but is it the case?
- Felix: Your next-door neighbour, partner-in-crime, but maybe a prime suspect?
- Silas: You cheated on Jade, and went fot another. Maybe you went overboard?
Questions, questions, questions.
Shocking answers.

This was a real page turner! I really enjoyed how the story builds in the beginning. I felt like I had enough time to get to know all the characters before it got really juicy.. I thought for sure I knew who did it but then the twist happened! I loved the personalities of all the characters. Jade was a great main character and I feel like she made the same decisions that I would if I was in her position. I hope her and her love interest find each out again.

I was able to dive right in. This book got me out of another reading slump. Truly leave it to Diana Urban to put a HUGE twist on the next to last page!!!! Quite enjoyable.

Thank you so much to Penguin Teen and Diana Urban for letting me read this early and be on the street team for promoting this book!
This was a wild ride! I wanted to stay up all night trying to finish it because from the first line i was immediately hooked and couldn't put it down. Following along with the most interesting cast of characters as they race to solve a murder and believe me when i say this. The ending will leave you chilled to the bone.
Hope to see you all aboard Summer 2023

Lying In The Deep splayed my brain completely open and then stomped on it, and then went on to shock me some more. When I say it is smart, I mean it’s SMART in the way that had me stopping and staring at how the smallest details connected and were used to further such an intricate plot. The perfect amount of lies, misdirection, earnestness paired with moments that made my jaw literally drop.
I always get siked when I get to read a new DIana Urban book, and this one was no different as it was one of best thrillers I have read.

Move over, Karen McManus. There's a new queen of YA thrillers. I've been delighted to read all of Diana Urban's thrillers, and she's really perfected the art. This twisty, fast-paced thriller provides a unique twist on the locked-room trope.
Lainey always gets what she wants. And what she wants includes her best friend's boyfriend.
Jade's going on a semester abroad on a cruise ship to try to forget about her first love leaving her for her best friend, then blocking her number. But when she's boarding the ship, she sees beautiful, wealthy, free-spirited Lainey boarding with Silas, the boy who'd been the love of Jade's life. No matter where she goes, Jade keeps seeing them. Not even a hot, brooding boy named Felix can distract her forever. Then, after a boozy night of Monopoly that ends with Jade accidentally stabbing Silas with a letter opener, Lainey goes missing, and Jade's the number one suspect.
Jade's convinced she's not the only person Lainey's backstabbed, and the deeper she digs into her fellow shipmates' lives, the more connections she finds. Jade convinces Felix to help her investigate, but their budding romance is complicated by signs that Silas might be having second thoughts about ending things with Jade. This teen thriller simmers with jealousy and passion as more teens meet unfortunate ends, ending in a startling but satisfying conclusion.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance review copy of this book.

I’d love to interview Diana for my podcast Raise Your Words. I read Lying in the Deep in a day! I love that the characters are all terrible people but the storyline is so intriguing!! I loved reading all the twists and turns.
