Always an interesting read from this mother-daughter duo! The writers of House of Night series take on witchcraft instead of vampires.

I had not realized that this was the last book of a trilogy. Even with that, I wasn't too lost in the story. I particularly liked the idea of having a family of witches still flourishing in the modern world, with their ancestors having survived the witch hunts. I also liked the idea of having Gates to the various underworlds of mythology.

The Eqyptian underworld was the focus of this book. The ending wasn't exactly what I had expected but I liked it very much. It was veering towards tragic but ended on a much happier note.

I received a advance reader copy of this book from the publisher St. Martin's Press via NetGalley, and voluntarily read and reviewed it.

Having entered the Sisters of Salem’s world thrice, I can tell you that from beginning to end, the time spent with Mercy, Hunter, Xena, and the rest of the crew was well worth it. The authors have captured the essence of being a teenager while interjecting magic and lore in an entertaining way.

I will be honest with anyone picking up this book. You have to have read the two previous novels. The series is one intricate and carefully constructed tale, building the tension and storyline until the very end. Where Mercy and Hunter start, they are in completely different places by the completion of HEX YOU. The transformation our young witches experience is truly what makes the series so good. And then, you add on top of that the magical elements and mythology woven throughout to create one spellbinding and addictive read.

HEX YOU is the final chapter of a darkly enchanting YA series. The authors gifted readers with a full arc for all the characters within these pages. The emotion is heightened and there were shocking moments I still am coming to grips with. But where the series ends will leave fans satisfied.

Audiobook Note: If you are an audiobook listener, this series is wonderful. Cassandra Campbell narrates all three books, so there is a fabulous continuity to the story. She brought to life these characters and beautifully performed the tale the authors put out there.

HEX YOU; Sisters of Salem, Book 3 of 3
P.C. Cast; Kristin Cast, authors Fantasy

In the final installment of this trilogy the Goode sisters must continue in their quest to save the world from the weakening gates of the underworld. As they come across more and more obstacles, like a giant serpent summoned from the underworld, will they have time to close the gates in time.

The Cast mother-daughter team has brought this trilogy to an end in an edge of your seat way with twists and turns galore and danger from every angle. I recommend reading this series in order as the second book ends on a cliffhanger with the third book picking up right after that. I would give this book a solid 5 out of 5 stars.

This was not a very pleasurable book to complete. The writing style is poor and difficult to follow along with all the different characters.

This was by far the best book out of the trilogy. It picks up right where Mercy was stuck in the Egyptian underworld and the sisters are still fighting with each other and trying to figure out what was going on in the town and who is causing all the problems.
I thought this book was a great wrap up of the trilogy. In this book you will see character growth in both the main characters and the side characters. I thought Mercy's "Oh" moment when she figured out what she was doing wrong was great and you really could see how hard she was trying to change it around. With Hunter, I believe she was able to see that she could not do this alone anymore and realized how important it was to have your family and friends there to help you through these hard times. However, my favorite character has to be hands down Xena, she is the best cat/ human ever! I also really liked Khenti a lot, his character was great to have in this book as a cool and calm person, but with his introduction to the modern world was amusing.
I loved the writing style, it flows and is fast paced, yes you will come across some slow parts but do not make that the main point to not read this great book. I thought the whole point of the plot was well communicated and executed well. I really enjoyed that the authors did not give a huge amount of time with recapping what happened in the last book. No worries you will not have a problem with following along in this book because the writing was that great.
If you have not read this trilogy yet, I highly recommend it.
Every book gets better and better, if you like reading YA, fantasy, action, drama, awesome cat/human, great plot, great

I'm so glad I stuck this series out. The first two weren't loves, but it was this final book that finally got me. This has been a rough series for me because I have loved P.C. and Kirsten for years and this has been the one series that was the hardest to get into.

I could go on for a while, but let's get into this final book.

The twins have been separated and Hunter has been working to get her missing half back home and out of Egyptian hell. Well, let's go knock on the gate and ask for Mercy back. Sounds pretty easy and simple to do. Ha, nope! The usual gate keeper isn't the one that answers but Hunter basically got a big fat no and the gate closed. Well, so much for that.

I do love Hunter's strength and will to save Mercy. Hunter had to find her own way and she did. It was fantastic seeing Hunter believe in herself and take the strength she needed to not only cast away the sea Goddess but to take that power and be able to just pull her sister and the gate keeper back into their world.

Now that everyone is back together and taking a little bit of time to go over what happened. It's time to get ready to face what's next. After all Amphitrite will want her vengeance.

Love for this series took it's time to get there but gosh did this final book bring it. It's everything I've come to expect from these ladies. They deliver each time and if you haven't already done so, go get your hands on their House of Night series. You won't regret it.

This is such a great series. Fun and easy to read without being fluffy. I love the witchy/mythology aspect and the special "twin bond." I think these books are a thoughtful exploration of family love and the ties that bind us, our preconceived ideas of female responsibility, and the power of female relationships.

Thanks you times a million to St. Martins for the free ARC of Hex You! I absolutely love reading books by the Casts. They are amazingly well written and are always something I look forward to reading and seeing what’s next!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 STARS

This is the third book in Sisters of Salem series and I found it a little difficult to remember all the characters since I didn't read the first two books. With that in mind, it didn't take away from the story line, but I feel it shouldn't be read as a stand-alone novel. Hex You by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast is an enjoyable read that will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-SUPERIOR!

I was provided an ARC via Netgalley, all opinions are my own.

This is the final installment of the Sisters of Salem series. I highly recommend you read this series in order as you will be very lost if you do not. This book picks up where book 2 left off with the sisters relationship still a bit in shambles but at the point where they are willing to accept their mistakes and make amends for the greater good. The gates that the sisters are responsible for are weakening by the minute, and Amphitrite is still up to no good. The sisters with the help of their friends have to heal their bond if they are going to heal the gates and the town.

The timeline isn't completely linear in this book which took a bit of getting used to. You will be in the present with Mercy in one chapter, then you will be in what is Hunter's present in the next chapter but it actually took place before the chapter you just read with Mercy. It jumps around a bit, and that can be a bit confusing at times. I felt the dialogue was a bit immature even for teenagers. I can get on board with Xena's speech being a bit strange because she isn't exactly human, but the rest of the dialogue (and there's alot of it) seemed really childish given the age of the characters. No teenagers I know talk the way the teens in the book talk and the conflict resolution was too convenient and rushed to make it feel authentic. The trilogy has been leading up to the healing of the trees, which the twins are guardians of, but the climax felt under developed and rushed.

Overall, this is a fun YA series. This particular installment is my least favorite of the trilogy. I think younger readers will enjoy this series. There is a little bit of everything from romance, to action and mythology, to magic. My main issues lie in the execution of this book when it comes to world building and plot. If you want some thing light and fun, you may not be bothered by those things.

I requested this book because I was a massive fan of the House of Night series which was written by this mother-daughter writing duo almost twenty years ago (excuse me as I put on my anti-aging moisturizer). I was curious how I would feel about their writing twenty years later and would it stand up to the fond memories I have of House of Night. Apparently reading is both my strong suit and not my superpower because I failed to absorb that I had just signed myself up for an entire series because this was book three.

In terms of the series as a whole, this was my least favourite. I very much thought in the first the book attempted to be provocative towards its intended audience depicting sexual content and using foul language. It was toned down to a degree in this particular book but it found other ways to show off its “hipness” that felt cheesy at times for an urban fantasy. Don’t even get me started on the repetitive (and I mean REPETITIVE) joke about the cat familiar’s obsession with hunting birds. It tried the very fibers of my patience.

I did like the overall exploration of the sisterhood bond throughout the course of the novel but I could have done without one character’s actions in this book. She was never particularly likable to me but this kind of solidified my dislike.

In terms of the plot it was a fairly standard way to save the city from a villain kind of story which I won’t pass up when offered. SPOILER ALERT. I was a little surprised though because I thought after reading the synopsis Mercy would be trapped in the underworld and this would be the story of getting her back. Yet by chapter 4 they got her back and it kind of felt like we had already been in this place before? Still good in terms of plot but not what I was expecting.

Thank you to Wednesday Books for providing an advanced reading copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was confused by this entire book. First, there were too many characters to keep track of. Second, the main characters were not entirely likable, which made even the magical parts a bit tedious. And the mishmash of all the different gods, goddesses, and magic beings just added to the confusion. Are they Greek? Egyptian? Everything? There were a few interesting aspects, but they got lost in the rest of it. If you still feel like you might want to read this book, be sure to read the first two before you start this one. I had read them and was still lost - I can't imagine what it would be like for someone coming into this one without the background from the others.

I should also add that I'm not the target audience for this book, so it might just be that I didn't "get" it. Younger readers may find it enthralling.

I requested a digital advanced readers copy from NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press and providing my opinion voluntarily and unbiased.

My Thoughts: This is book number 3, and the final, in the Sisters of Salem series. These books connect with a continuing plot, so it is best to read them in order, if possible. The series continues with the sisters, Mercy and Hunter. The first book opens with the sisters being polar opposite, one is nice and one is mean. This book introduces them as both mean, their mother has passed, so this may contribute to how the characters are being portrayed. The last book ended with an open plot and this one picks up on that plot, but also develops further plots. While I enjoyed the sisters, in their opposite format, in the prior two books, in this book, they became unlikeable, again, probably for character development.

This story was fun and lighthearted. The characters were further developed in this novel with some depth, fantasy, witchy, and just well done. The author’s writing style was a lighter read with aspects of paranormal, magic, great world building, and keeps you engaged with a smaller book. The reviews on this book is that it is the best in the series, which I agree with. This was a great witchy series. I would recommend, but I would start with the first book, Spells Trouble, then Omens Bite and then this one so that you are not confused by the plot.

The conclusion to the Sisters of Salem trilogy! Hunter and Mercy are lost to each other, both in different worlds. Mercy is trapped in the Egyptian underworld while Hunter is drowning in her mistakes and desperate to find her missing sister. Can the sisters find each other and fix the gates to each of the other realms?

This one was loads better than Omens Bite, by far. I almost didn't want to continue with the series after that one, but I'm glad I did. We get to see Hunter and Mercy make up, and for each of them to figure out their mistakes and actually try to fix them--we don't get that in a lot of YA books, or even in books in general. Mistakes (unless they drive the plot) and character flaws are glossed over, left to the side.

But then we get to the ending. I was about 40 pages from the end and confused--was this actually a series, not a trilogy? There just didn't seem to be enough pages left to do what still needed to be done. And...well, I was right and wrong. The ending was just incredibly rushed (the entire book is about healing the trees and preserving the integrity of the gates and...that is how that it's solved?) and honestly very unsatisfying. I'm still really not sure that the trees were healed or not. There were a lot of rushed, unsatisfying things in the ending.

So if you made it through Omens Bite and are wondering if it's worth it, I'd say yes it is.

Third and final book in the Sisters of Salem series and we follow Mercy and Hunter again.

This time Mercy and Khenti are the main focus as they are trapped in ancient Egypt. Hunter searches for ways to help them escape and seal the gates once and for all.

It was okay, if I’m being honest. The series started out great but got a bit boring between book 2-3. A lot of cliche and what I felt was stupid moments. The plot was confusing at times but what saved it were the characters. And that’s what this book is, very character driven.

I definitely recommend the series if you like YA magical stories with sisterhood as the force.

Love the Buffy references. Xena the cat is very entertaining. Did not like how it ends. I hope there is another book that fixes everything.

So u definitely have mixed feelings about this whole series, but especially this book in general. Overall, I liked the story and characters. I think all the side characters were really well developed. One of the main things I didn’t really like was how Christianity was portrayed in the book. I know that it was mainly used for the plot, but to be honest , it just seemed like the book was mocking Christians. I feel like this series overall has had a bit of a problem with stereotyping people, but aside from that, I really liked the book.

Hex You is the third book in the Sisters of Salem series. While this could be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the first book in the series, Spells Trouble, if you want to get the full experience. I was drawn into the series after reading Spells Trouble which left me wanting more. Hex You flows seamlessly from the previous book's ending, and the ending was satisfying without being too much of a fairy tale wrap-up. I was impressed by the author's writing and the character's development. I highly recommend Hex You if you are looking for something fun and witchy; the Sisters of Salem series is an excellent choice.
