This book was incredibly sweet!
Read if you like: one night stand to friends with benefits, opposites attract, adventurous reads, and self-discovery

Carla arrives in Ireland for her best friend's wedding and can't help but be amused when she falls oh so quickly and easily into the cliche role of "maid of honor who hooks up with the best man." In her defense, Eamon is charming and a great listener, not to mention good-looking, so she can't find it in herself to deny their attraction on principle. Carla doesn't do serious relationships, but she's only too delighted to dive into an international fling with a hot man when the opportunity so enticingly presents itself.
To make things even better, it turns out Eamon's been looking for a reason to be out in nature, and along comes Carla, camping and backpacking extraordinaire. Her dad raised her to be a shrewd, self-sufficient traveler, and her enthusiasm and competence give Eamon the push he was looking for to head out into the wild. The two enjoy each other so much that they take every possible additional detour that strikes their fancy, delaying their arrival at the wedding each time. From dancing under the stars to flipping their car while off-roading, it's a memorable adventure.
For Carla's part, travel has become a solo activity ever since her dad (Biggie to his friends and daughter) started deteriorating from dementia. He gave Carla the keys to the beloved red jeep that took them on all their adventures while she was growing up and told her to carry on without him. She doesn't want to admit that her sexcapades across Ireland have any deeper feelings attached to them, and she doesn't want to consider what she's missing at home while fulfilling her father's mandate.
I think the problem with whirlwind romances isn't that they're inherently unbelievable. It just requires a level of emotional intensity from the characters that has to hit all the right notes in quick succession. As a reader, I have to believe that each step, no matter the pace, feels right and immersive. If I'm not convinced at any point, there's no time to recuperate my support in a whirlwind story. It either lands or it doesn't, all while messing about with big feelings that come on quickly. This is one of those romances that dodged giving me the ick but didn't manage to make me care in a positive way, either. For what's meant to be this big, emotional arc between two people figuring out what they want out of life, I largely felt *shrug* about the love story. It seems fine. Meanwhile, the emotional gut punch of Carla's story with her father is largely crammed into the narrow space concurrent with the final act breakup. Sure, there's leadup, but this earthquake of a life moment is hindered by the limited space provided and STILL manages to pack in more feeling than the whole romance combined.
Given the subject matter, anyone who knows me will be unsurprised to learn I cried my eyes out before all was said and done, which seems to be the Doller specialty. Another favorite of the author is the rescuing of a pet from the wild, a tradition I was much happier to see carry on here. Carla quite literally snatches a kitten out of a hawk's claws, and the rest is history. I think those more tolerant of a whirlwind romance will like this one. I also think fans of the author's work will appreciate her return to the theme of seeking adventure off the expected path. Thanks to SMP Romance for my copy to read and review!

4 Stars!! Set in Ireland and Florida, this book was a super cute and quick read that had me tearing up at the end!! 😭 Carla travels to Ireland to be the maid of honor in her best friend’s wedding and meets up with the best man to travel to the wedding. They take a weekend camping trip and connect. I have always loved watching van life vloggers so found this story to be very interesting!! Thank you to St Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the Arc!!

Trish Doller has such a gift for writing books that tug at your emotions and also take you on an epic adventure. This series has taken me on a rollercoaster of emotions and made me wish this was a movie! I read this book in one sitting. The FMCs adventurous personality was delightful and her struggling with what is going on with her father was touching. This was such an epic romance filled with beautiful sights and scenery that everyone needs to read.

Trish Doller really knows how to write a love story that is both funny, sexy, and sweet. While this book still doesn't top the perfection that was Float Plan, it was still incredibly heartfelt and checking. It was nice to get updates on Anna and Keane while also falling in love with Carla and Eamon's journey to love. I thoroughly enjoyed their exploration off the beaten path on the way to Anna and Keane's wedding and Carla's dad Biggie was a favorite character of mine even if it was heartbreaking to read about his mental decline. That is tough on anybody. Eamon is charming and supportive and just as lovable as his brother. This is a great addition to the series and I have loved each book Trish writes for it.

Trish Doller did such an amazing job her! I really enjoyed it. This was my second book by this author and I found it to be great!

I thought this book was a lot of fun and it was the perfect book for the moment I was reading. I think that a lot of people would enjoy this book. I’ll be buying a physical copy

Another fun and heartfelt story from Trish Doller! The characters, setting, and plot all felt fully fleshed out and real, pulling me in from chapter one. I’ll definitely be reading more from Doller!

Such a cute cover, this one was a bit steamier than the others!
This is book 3 in a series but stands well on its own - although I can't stress enough that this series is so much better if you start with Book 1 and let each character be introduced before you read their story.
This one has Carla, a bit of a traveler and independent. I really liked that streak. I found the insta-love a little surprising but I rolled with it. This one definitely had steamier scenes than I remembered from book 1 and 2. It's another cute story, although this one didn't quite have the spark the first 2 did. I did like how we got to see some really growing moments near the end (and the sneak peeks of the other characters!). Another sweet romance from one of my favorite authors.
A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

I read this as an ARC back in 2023 and sped through it in a day. I’ll read anything Trish writes. So charming!

I enjoy Trish Doller's books. I adored her Suite Spot book even more but I enjoy her writing style and the way she builds her characters and I will always read her books!

Carla Black is more than happy to live her life always on the road. On the way to her best friends wedding she meets Eamon who is also part of the wedding party and is tasked with picking her up from the airport. Carla inspires Eamon to take some risks and travel. What should be a direct trip from the airport ends up being a series of small adventures that change Carla’s mind about love and Eamon’s mind about staying in one place.

I wanted to love this. I truly did. I enjoyed the first two books in this series immensely but this one just didn't work for me this time around.

This book was a whirlwind adventure in Ireland and I read it easily in a few hours.
Carla is in Ireland for her best friend's wedding (Anna and Keane from Float Plan, book 1 of the series) and she immediately kisses Eamon (Keane's brother) in a pub when he picks her up to drive her to the wedding.
They have an immediate connection and decide to take some off-road adventures on the way there. It starts at a fling until feelings become involved. I loved their side journeys, especially the run in with the bull, and loved them just having so much fun.
There are also some sad parts as Carla's dad has dementia so she eventually goes home after so much of traveling the world to spend (what turns out) to be his last days. I cried, I admit.
I also love the end where Carla and Eamon travel the world together.

Will travelling the world ever bring peace to someone who only knows how to run away from problems?
Carla has been off-roading in her Jeep, backpacking and camping where she can, and basically living life to its fullest, all because her father told her not to come home and watch him slowly get sicker. In Ireland, where her best friend is getting married, Carla finally finds a reason to stop running.
This rom-com was funny, tender, and erotic rolled into an emotional rollercoaster. The epiphanies that Carla has while on her adventures are insightful and brings the reader on a trip as well, just not the outdoor kind. Carla’s background with her father was well rounded, and the reader couldn’t help but also share in her painful experiences. A tear jerker at times, but the tears were more happy than sad ones.
This ARC was provided by the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest response.

"Off the Map" was everything I wanted from Trish Doller. I loved her characters in "Float Plan", so I was eager to meet Carla and Eamon. And they did not disappoint.
We get the most adventurous opposites attract couple that has me grabbing my passport because someone take me to Ireland stat.
The book is such an easy read. You get wrapped up in road trip shenanigans, a peak into what the characters in "Float Plan" are up to, and there are moments of tender growth for both Carla and Eamon that I found heartwarming.
You don't have to read the books in order, but as always, I find that if you do, you'll enjoy the journey for each character -- current and past.

Thank you for the advanced copy of this book. My reviews can be read on my GoodReads account here: https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/1335387-kelly

This one just didn’t have the same feel as the first two books in the series. Float Plan and The Suite Spot just absolutely transported me away to other places while reading and the characters and storylines were so captivating. Unfortunately, Off the Map fell short. It was a fast, easy read but the insta-love was a bit much. I don’t really have much more to say than it was just okay.

I vibe so little with a personality full of wanderlust and adventure, my favorite weekends are ones where I don't leave my house at all. So reading about a couple who spent the whole book being spontaneous and adventurous what honestly kind of weird because I couldn't relate at all. It became clear they were both running away from something rather than toward something so it did become more relatable, but of the 3 in this series this was my least favorite for that reason. I couldn't even pretend I related to the character's for a lot of the book which makes it hard for me to love a book.

Carla Black has spent her life travelling the world. She's visited every national park in the US and is now moving on to the rest of the world This time she is on her way to Dublin to her best friend's wedding. When she meets her ride (Eamon) at a pub, she realizes that she needs to help him loosen up and take an adventure.
This is a fun book, a pretty typical rom-com story. Predictable, but still a pleasant read. The best part is the story of the relationship between Carla and her father who is battling Alzheimer's. The angst and emotion expressed in their relationship is realistic and touching. The romance between Eamon and Carla is sweet and cute, but definitely no surprises there. A great "beach read" and a pleasant "vacation" in Ireland, but overall nothing special.
