This is a story of intrigue and family…secrets and surprises…a quest to find a missing sister…the characters are likable and make the story what it is…although the setting is divided into war time England and post war time, the story weaves together eventually. I prefer a linear timeline with third person narrator throughout the book. That being said, this story was so intriguing that I realized the different timelines were important…that seems to be the trend now. This is a talented and gifted author at weaving a novel that keeps the reader’s interest from page one until the end. The main character is a loving sister who mourns for her lost sibling. She keeps hoping she is alive. Others around her seem to have given up, but she keeps on. Love and romance are other themes in this book that is historical fiction but reads like nonfiction. This book would make a heartwarming movie. This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Curl up on a cozy sofa…grab a warm soft Afghan…a cup of steaming hot herbal tea…a delicious scone…be transported back in time…
