So happy that tower of god will officially be published. I really loved the anime, so the manga has been on my bucket list for a while. I love the art style and the characters in the manga. If you were a huge fan of the anime, you should give this one a read.

This volume is confusing. I don't entirely understand what's going on, but I've kept up okay so far but i felt it needed more explanation sadly also i had the same issue with the ARC for this that I've had with a couple of the others in that it didn't seem to download properly or with poor quality which makes it hard to catch everything. concept was interesting, but I felt like we didn't get enough explanation

Absolutely splendid. Just a simple MASTERPIECE. The writing and the artwork are absolutely exquisite. The plotline is uniue and fascinating. This is Manhwa at its finest.

I had the same issue with the review file for this that I've had with a couple of the others in that it didn't seem to download properly no matter how many times I tried and I was kind of stuck only able to read a little of it, however I did enjoy the glimpse that I got!

I'm not going to lie, I was interested in this particular title as Stray Kids performed the opening and closing songs for the anime version and I was curious about the story. The art isn't necessarily the style I'd normally go for, but the colour palette fit the mood of the story perfectly from what I could tell and it was really well drawn.

I was certainly intrigued by the opening and interested to know what would happen next!

4/5 stars

I received an ARC of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Twenty-Fifth Baam only has one reason for climbing the tower: to find his friend, Rachel. Forcing his way in after her, he's left to face many challenges to make his way up the tower.

This volume is a little confusing. I don't entirely understand what's going on, but I've kept up okay so far. Hopefully, more things will be explained as the story continues.

People seem to really love this series, and it was popular enough to get an anime adaptation. I don't really get the hype, but again, I'm hoping volume 2 has more answers.

Our main character, Baam, is a little naive. I don't trust any of the other characters. The floors and challenges are interesting, and they're the main reason I'm going to continue with the series.

Overall, this series has an interesting premise, but nothing has really sold me on the story yet. If volume 2 doesn't blow me away, I don't think I'll continue. There's a lot of potential for a great story, so I'm hoping it lives up to the hype.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I love this series so much! And im glad there will be an english physical release because this was such a well written story with many layers to it. I'm a fan of the world building with the Tower as a setting and you need to beat each levels to go up the tower and its so clever! Love all the characters in here especially Bam, Khun and Rak, my favourite trio and I love em so much. The series focused on friendship too and also being with people you trust is a step for Bam and Im happy for him. Highly recommended if you love fantasy, games and action, this is one of the best webtoon out there. The anime was great too!

A fast-paced and fascinating opening volume to the Tower of God series. The art is dynamic; the characters are
intriguing and I can't wait to see what happens next.

My reviews are done in video format. I recommend following the link below to view the content as I've intended it.

The script for said video is below:

Opening
Hello and welcome to the Warmadillo Inc Board review of the Tower of God by S.I.U. For full disclosure a copy of this book was provided for free by the publisher for the purpose of this review. Now let's get started with our opening statements.

Warmadillo
The Tower of God is the story of 25th Bam and his journey up the mysterious world of the tower in search for his friend Rachel. It is said the tower contains everything: riches, power, and even immortality; anything you desire lies at its apex, but only for those able to reach that high. As far as a premise goes, I think the Tower of God is really exciting. The world we've seen so far is ridiculous but also incredibly interesting.
Warmadillo On The Desk
I'll admit that the set-up is well done but I found most of the moment to moment writing to be very grating. I understand the story is presented in media res but it clearly wants to have it both ways. Leaving crucial details obtuse seemingly to buy time to determine how important they are later while spending way too much time explaining incidental materials. The scene where Yuri gives Bam the Black March being particularly egregious. I get it, it's a good poking stick.
Executive Warmadillo
That was excessive. However, I had a lot of fun with this book. You know I love a tournament arc and it seems the entire trek up the tower is going to be one long tournament. I'm also partial to challenges that can be beaten by more than strictly combat and the way the gang passes the culling game trial was a good bit of subversion.
Warmadillo On The Left
I'm surprised you were able to make it that far because I did not have a good time reading this. I hesitate to say something has "bad" artwork, but it's definitely not great here with some of these illustrations feeling like a first draft. Moreso than that it's the layout that really kills me. One of the problems when translating a webtoon to a book is how you handle the transition from infinite scroll to page turn. Most of the time it is handled not well, and Tower of God is no exception.
Warmadillo After Dark
That is a big part of why I have such mixed feelings about the work, granted there are times when a page hits just right but it seems to be a broken clock situation. Having said that, I think it is worth it to power through the really mediocre opening chapters to meet the rest of the main cast. It isn't carried by the blank slate that is Bam and instead we get the arrival of best boy, Rak Wraithraiser, which is just great to say. Khun is also a great character and they add some much needed variety to the story.

Mid Point
All excellent points. Very well gentlemen, your final thoughts. On The Left I feel you were the most critical so let's start with you.

On The Left
I don't want to make it sound like a catastrophe, cause it certainly isn't the worst thing I have seen, but what is there did not impress me. Thumbs down.
Warmadillo
The setting was enough to sell me this time. Reminds me of the Tower of Babel novels that I love and I think this would be appreciated by people that find full fantasy series intimidating. Thumbs up.
Executive
It's a story with some fun characters. Thumbs up.
On The Desk
The writing is sometimes compelling, like this line from Lero Ro, but most of the time has such "I'm 13 and this is deep energy." Thumbs down.
After Dark
Part of me wants to write it off because of it's many obvious problems but it gets enough right or at least does it differently enough for me to stick around. Also Rak. Thumbs up.

Closing
And the vote is cast. With three in favor and two against The Tower of God is hereby certified to be Warmadillo Inc. Recommended.

This was exciting for, as it was my first of this genre and I loved it. Bam enters the town in search of his friend. Entering the tower means he has to prove his worth with each level having a test that could mean death, but he doesn't let that stop him from moving on up the tower.

The illustrations and color pallets were amazing and brought out depth and meaning throughout the story. The characters are clever and hilariously written. Each lever of the tower is intriguing. You never really want is going to happen next. I enjoyed all that they each brought to the table. I truly enjoyed the first volume and will looking out for the rest.

tw/cw: mentions of suicide , blood & gore, violence

First and foremost, thank you to @wattpadbooks and @netgalley for the e-book.

I’m so used to reading from right to left, so going through this was a bit challenging at first. Despite its simple art style, the premise is interesting and the world-building is majestic. It’s text-heavy and the plot is quite complex; I need more time to grasp the terminology. I do not feel any kind of attachment to the characters yet, but I enjoy the light comedy. I have taken a liking to the crocodile; I hope that he won't die. I will definitely be continuing this one. I am excited to find out more about The Tower and the different challenges Bam will face as he goes through each floor.

This series is originally a Webtoon but the physical copy is coming November 22nd.

I was kindly gifted the first volume of Tower of God by NetGalley and WhatPad Books in exchange for my free and honest review.

If climbing a tower, where the very attempt might kill you, could grant your dream would you try? Bam was happy he had Rahel and that's all he ever needed but when she went to climb the tower he followed. Now he will climb the tower just to find her, but will it be worth it?

This is my first Manhwa (think manga but Korean instead of Japanese) and I've really enjoyed it. It is in full color which is lovely for the fight scenes and the different test the people climbing the tower are subjected to.

Our main team is a lot of fun. Bam is sweet and innocent and determined, Koon is a clever little bastard (my favorite type of character), and Rakk is a pig headed but loyal lizard man. I look forward to seeing all of them get developed.

I'm definitely invested and will be following this series happily. Just a heads up if you enjoy the series it has also already been adapted in to a show that is pretty solid and I recommend.

3.5 rounded up, mostly for interesting use of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland themes. Bam is, essentially, a reverse Alice, chasing her up a tower rather than down a hole, and the nonsensical world of the eponymous Tower is every bit as strange as Wonderland. While we're not sure what Bam's status as an Irregular will truly mean going forward (right now he's mostly coasting on it), the references to Alice, the White Rabbit, the March Hare, and the Red Queen are all fascinatingly sprinkled throughout the story, and everyone does seem truly mad. Can Bam go about among mad people? He may not have a choice if he ever wants to see Rachel again, but going through this Wonderland is going to take more than an ability to play croquet if he's going to survive.

It's hard to be entirely objective with this rating because I realized early on into my read that I had started watching the first episode of the anime on Crunchyroll and never finished it. That said my read sparked enough interest that I'm probably gonna pick up the anime again but I'm not expecting any groundbreaking storylines either way. I do think subsequent volumes might pick up in rating for me once we'd get past all the foundational worldbuilding.

The concept was interesting, but I felt like we didn't get enough explanation. Like, how does Bam know about the Tower? What kind of place did Bam come from? How did Rachel literally bring light to his world? And each side character was introduced with nothing but a name, and we got no sort of explanation of the rules of the tower until the very end.

Also, the character art was fairly sloppy/inconsistent. It's obvious that this artist excels with backgrounds and textures, leaving the character design loose and very elastic. It made it difficult to follow their movements and expression.

Honestly, I don't think it was interesting enough to continue.

Tower of God has a interesting plot, where it revolves around Baam, a character who wants to find a girl named Rachel. He joins others to get through the floors of the tower by going through tests such as fights or missions. It is also said that if someone manages to get to the top, any wish could be granted. This in fact, has me intrigued because I’m personally not that great at predicting the outcome, so I’m intrigued to know who would get to the top or maybe something unexpected would happen.

In addition, my interest in this came from watching the anime that was made for it. It also has unique characters and I immediately knew that one of the characters would be quite popular among the fans.

Overall, this was entertaining and fun to read. I love the characters and I’m looking forwards to their development and what friendships or alliances will form among them!

Thank you to NetGalley, Wattpad Books, WEBTOON Unscrolled, and S.I.U for the opportunity to read this graphic novel in exchange for an honest review.

The premise of a hero battling their way up a tower certainly isn't a new one, but Tower of God has a lot of promise and approaches the floor-level tasks in a more unique way.

Bam tries to follow his friend, Rachel, into the Tower of God. When she disappears, he finds himself facing an impossible task on the first floor, a mostly classic monster-slaying task including popping a ball and the introduction of an important magical weapon.

The majority of the volume takes place on floor two, where there are a number of elimination tasks for the 400 regulars who have made it to that area of the tower and wish to make their way to the top. Bam finds himself in a precarious team. While he only seeks to find Rachel, he must also keep his irregular secret from everyone around him.

This story has a lot of promise, and based on the him that the tower is higher than thirty floors (I am just automatically assuming 100, but 30 is mentioned at one point), this series can certainly go on for quite some time. This graphic novel is a quick read, plot-driver, and the art is gorgeous. The motion art is done very well for something with so much action. I was pulled in the whole time and definitely want to see where this story goes.

I'm very intrigued by this book and seeing what happens next for Bam and his ascent up the tower. the art style is nice, but I think it was better on webtoon originally. I would recommend it to people who were fans of Sword Art Online, as it gives me a similar vibe.
The pace is pretty fast, which keeps the reader interested. They manage to explain everything going on and build the world while keeping the story going.

The story plot in this webtoon hooked me in! I have read the korean webtoon for this webtoon and the english one was great as well! The story about how Bam enters a game because of Rachel and the whole situation becomes about who Bam should trust and how he can find Rachel and how he figures out his strength throughout his journey. I love the webtoon so much!

This book suffers both from its webcomic origin. A lot of webcomics start off looking unpolished which more professional looking pages as the story goes on. As this is only the first volume, the art is not that appealing. I really like worldbuilding. The tower and the systems people need to climb it are pretty interesting. I do wish we got a bit more about what was going on in the main characters’ head as he seems a bit of a blank slate, but perhaps we will learn more about him in later issues.

*This graphic novel webtoon series was read on an iPhone 12 Pro through the PocketBook app*

Thank you again, NetGalley and Wattpad Books for lending me an ARC of this book!

Tower of God Volume One takes the first several chapters of the hit WEBTOON series and places it into a neatly tied up “unscrolled” version of the webcomic. If you have never been on WEBTOON before, you scroll vertically to see the comic panels. It has been adapted very carefully so none of the actions has been lost in a flip page method of reading.

For fans of Tower of God, there has never been a better time to jump back to the beginning and refresh yourself on what has happened in the series. The art is loose, fresh, and unique with humor and action in each panel. While the art style may not be what the anime looks to be or later chapters in the series, it is still nonetheless colorful and exciting. Each page directed me and through composition, word bubbles, and SFX text, I could understand most of the action and characters in their emotion. My small issue early on is that when panels on Headon showed up, sometimes it was hard to understand what was even being shown. Sometimes a small smile? Just a face? His design, while creative, was hard to express without motion at times what was really going on.

If you are a fan of action-packed storytelling, a colorful cast of characters, clever bouts of humor sprinkled through, then this series is for you. Wattpad Books has done an excellent job adapting the material for this volume, and it excites me for the future releases as they come!
