The second I heard about this book, I looked for it on Goodreads. The second I realized it wasn't released yet, I MADE a Netgalley account to get an arc. And thankfully I got one!
So, if it wasn't established, I was very excited about Forget Me Twice and went in whin big expectations!

This is a second chance, amnesia book about Meyer and Archie, who have been divorced for a year after a big fall out they had, but Archie's memories of the last two years got wiped because of an accident that we witness in the beginning.
Meyer ends up having to take Archie in, and pretend they're still married to not harm Archie's healing process.

I really enjoyed reading about Meyer's ambivalent emotions regarding Archie's precense. She missed the person he was to her, missed having him in her life, but didn't want to let herself get hurt by getting reattached to him, afraid that once his memories are back, they will go back to being basically strangers.

But I had some points that kind of bothered me during the book (some are probably just me things, but some I think are not):
•For one, I didn't really like the writing. At first I thought this was a debut book and was willing to be forgiving. But the author actually has a respectable backlist. So, I guess the writing style just wasn't really for me.
•It might sound whiny, but by the chapter heads, I expected it to be a dual pov experience. I really like reading about both partners povs, especially in an instance where one of them has amnesia, but all of the chapters were from Meyer's pov and we didn't get to see Archie's thoughts.
•Plot-wise, the pacing was a bit weird/messy. I felt like I spent too much time reading about things that weren't farthering the plot and it took a lot of time to get to the next relevant point in the relationship between Meyer and Archie, and in Archie's healing.

•There were other things I didn't appreciate, but they are spoilery, but I will say that the main thing that bothered me was that we didn't get to see what their relationship was like before. We only got one short flashback, and it was of them breaking up.
I just think that part of the journey of a second chance romance is seeing the partners change and grow, and we are told they grew while they were apart, but to me- I only saw them as their current version and had no idea what the growing and changing was.

I will say though, it was a super fun, easy, quick read with a great premise!! If you want a simple rom com to pass the time, than this book is certainly it!! I was honestly surprised at how fast I read it as soon as I could actually dedicate my time to it.

Thank you to Netgalley and Victoria Editing for the arc in exchange for an honest review!

Forget Me Twice

What would you do when you get a call from your local Hospital and told you that your ex-husband whom you have been divorced for two years, was in an accident and had an amnesia? And the only memory it remembers is that he is still married to you?

One thing that makes me instantly pick a book is a good blurb, and upon reading the blurb for this book, I had to request and thankfully I got approved.

Forget Me Twice is a second chance romance story between Archie and Meyer, who have been divorced for two years and living separately in different states. Archie had an accident and got himself a temporary amnesia and the only way to bring and help him to get his memory back, as per the Doctor's advice, is for Meyer to pretend that they still live happily as a married couple. This book is light and easy read, narrated in single POV by Meyer. I love that we get to know her feelings toward her struggle to keep it together in helping her ex-husband. She keeps her boundaries despite her attraction and love for Archie. I adore Archie, his jealous nature and happy go lucky attitude during his amnesia state, that makes it hard for Meyer and I was invested to know their falling out.. Aside from the marital issues of this story, I love that the author tackles their individual issues that led them to separate.
As I read the book, I was intrigued as to why they end up getting divorced. The issues were revealed and although I find it kind of a small miscommunication issue, still a little problem can lead to bigger things. The secondary characters of this book are quite important most specially Dr. Sharpe and Margaret. Overall, I love this book because it has that realistic approach to situations. The way Meyer and Archie find themselves having second chance and reconciliation, it's a lovely, fun read that most people can relate.

Forget Me Twice

What would you do if your ex-husband had an accident, gets amnesia and doesn’t remember that you’ve been divorced for a year?

This book was a quick pleasant read. I couldn’t put it down. The characters are likeable and the plot doesn’t drag on. This was a refreshing, heartwarming story of love, family and the lengths you’ll go to accomodate to someone in their tough times.

If you love, second chance romances without all the usual SMUT that is usually there to keep readership engaged , then this romance novel is for you.

Forget me Twice was really cute! An amnesia trope?!! I can’t say no to that!

I liked how Carina Taylor handled Archie having amnesia. Meyer never really lied to him, she was vague about them and their marriage. I feel like in stories like this they immediately start lying and then everything is built on deception. That wasn’t the case here and I really liked that!

This weekend we embarked on a road trip with our two tiny humans to attend a family wedding, and I don’t know if you’ve been trapped in the car with your family recently, but Mama needed a timeout.

So I put down my current read and pulled up the arc of Carina Taylor’s next book. Carina is one of the few authors I read regularly that is closed door. But I’ve read five of her books just this year because she always makes me laugh. Taylor’s women are confident, and her heroes lovingly poke at them—figuratively & conversationally; it’s closed door, remember?

Forget Me Twice felt like a farcical Cary Grant movie—ridiculous situation, swoony hero, cute love story. Archie and Meyer are divorced. But when Archie crashes his plane, loses his memory, and thinks they’re still married, what is Meyer to do but play along? There’s a gossipy old lady, a crafty heroine with my taste in interior design & audiobooks, and an avocado keychain. Perfect for fans of old school comedies and Sarah Adams books 💛 Forget Me Twice hits shelves in November!

Thanks to @netgalley and @carinataylor for the arc!

Forget Me Twice is only a short read so I did finish it in a few hours in one sitting which in one sense was good as there wasn't enough going on for it to be longer but also it didn't allow much time for the story to actually go anywhere. I started out loving this, the first 50/60% was exactly what I was looking for but then I felt like it just lost track and started to really go in a direction I wasn't very keen on. I didn't enjoy it so much once Meyer found out that Archie's memories had returned the way she did and they started playing each other. I also didn't like the fact that Dr Sharpe was known to Archie, it didn't work or sit right. It then all felt incredibly rushed and a bit like what could of been an incredible plot cut short. All supporting characters are minor/undeveloped and there is really no point in the side story between Willa/Kingston and I felt there was massive plot holes there too, why did Archie and Meyer have a full conversation on her telling Willa about Kingston's priors for that not to happen and for Willa to find out elsewhere. I just didn't see the point. There just wasn't enough of anything to make any of it work very well.
Archie then seemed to get incredibly pushy once his memories did return and he realised Meyer hadn't kicked him out (not for lack of trying thanks to his mum), how him and his mum agreed for her to keep stalling just didn't sit right with me. He went from being very sweet to being a bit full on, like getting into her bed while she was sleeping after she had told him no, knowing full well they were divorced now? Bit weird.
Also, the fact they got remarried literally days after reconnecting? What? The arguments they had in the first place to cause the divorce were petty and although they acknowledged them I don't feel they actually really did much of anything to then jump right back in like 'BAM WE'VE SORTED IT. LETS PRETEND IT DIDN'T EVEN HAPPEN' What? To not even get to know the new people they claimed to have matured into? Gutted that this wasn't what I'd hoped for but may still work for others who enjoy second chances and quick reads.

As a first time reader of Carina Taylor, I didn’t know what to expect. This lighthearted/second chance romantic comedy was a delight. Delving into the realm of amnesia, I was concerned it was going to be a little “soap opera”-ish but Taylor kept it realistic and plausible.

What I liked about the story: I loved Margaret and how she was woven through the entire story. She is revered and feared in the same breath. I enjoyed the unfolding of the story, the demonstration of how love, no matter how battered - if it is meant to be, will find a way. I also enjoyed how Archie and Meyer vocalized the right and wrong way to be in a marriage and how putting more effort in trying to change the other person or conform will put devastating cracks in a foundation.

What I didn’t like about the story: For a seasoned writer, I was disappointed in how novice the text felt in places and the lack of character development. In terms of the text, there was a lot of redundancy when elaborating on certain points.

While I would point the finger at editing more than Taylor for that oversight (along with having Meyer’s name at the top of each chapter but the POV never changed), the concern I had with the characters is more within how they were presented and developed.

I get supporting characters are there to help push the story forward but I feel a huge opportunity was missed as to why these characters were introduced. A doctor doesn’t just leave and take a job in a small town to help out a friend. What is Dr. Sharpe’s story? He is taking a huge risk in the game he is playing to help Archie - why? Her sister Bailey, learning about their sibling dynamic would have helped with how influential Bailey was with her sister and any decision making. We get that Kingston is protective but again, the sibling relationship is skirted around. We don’t know much about Bailey other than she is a mom and Kingston is a player of sorts. I don’t even get the purpose of the Willa/Kingston subplot - did that go anywhere, did he learn his lesson, what was the point?

As for Meyer - again I feel we missed out on learning more about her. You can put the pieces together to assume she is a people pleaser and that caused a lot of issues/resentment in her marriage but that was more of my assumption that clarification by the writer. I didn’t feel like I knew Artie at all! I knew OF Artie - he is talented at drawing, singing, can’t dance but asides for that I didn’t really know him enough to connect.

That is probably the biggest problem I had with this story, I couldn’t connect with the characters. That and Meyer’s logic never made any sense. She didn’t know how Artie felt despite hearing him and his intentions on the phone. She mourned losing her husband a second time despite him saying that when she wanted him, he would be there. She created obstacles that were more childish and unnecessary than relevant to the story.

Overall this story had a lot of potential but fizzled before it got across the finish line. Better editing would have made this a 5 star book.

Thank you again Netgallery for choosing me to be an ARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

It's been two years since Archie was part of Mayer life he was most firmly an ex husband but all of a sudden she gets a call and has been thrust back into her life.

After a dramatic plane crash, slightly unbelievable a car crash would have been enough.
He has been officially diagnosed as having post traumatic amnesia or it's also described as retrograde amnesia is that the same same thing or not?

A first there are lots of little sexual references such as 'he put his hand on my thigh' and touches on bum he even makes a even massage 'he keeps touching me' and again much later in the book 'his large hand starts rubbing circles on my back. These bring the novel down, and make it darker than the light hearted romance you expected.

She starts her own business making buttons, Tayor describes it as something Mayer 'I wanted to spend every last minute on' this goes on to be very successful.

Another thing that appears very different is that there are not many other characters, there's Archie's mother Holly is spoken to on the phone but not in great depth. Much to the same degree as Mayer sister Bailey Especially the role of the elderly neighbour who is at the very start and end of tale for no obvious reason, the nection is not really needed in my opinion.
Mayer confesses her one only real friend is Willa 'who's done wonder for my business...does marketing work.....online influencer.... all my advertising and campaining'
Mayer says 'I'm living my dream job, on a flexible schedule. She does not want to sell to a big company that would go against, preferring to keep it small and local where she has links.

Overall this is a very easy and quick read but it was not for me. But if that's what your looking for this is the right choice for you.

I would like to thank NetGalley and the publishers for giving me a digital copy of the book in exchange for a full, frank and onest review.

this book has:
- second chance romance
- forced proximity
- fun banter
- small business owner fmc
- amateur pilot mmc

‘forget me twice’ is the very definition of “second chance romance”. meyer gets a call from the hospital telling her that her (ex) husband, archie was in a plane crash and is suffering from retrograde amnesia, having forgotten the past 2 years, and thus, their divorce.

it’s a fun, easy and lighthearted read with cute banter! my fave scenes were the times archie would get jealous at the flirting between meyer and his doctor. there were also some great side characters, and i loved the family dynamics.

however, given that it’s a story of separation and divorce, i expected much more angst and heartache than there was. i wish there had been more flashback scenes showing why they had separated in the first place as the one fight which was portrayed leading up to the divorce just felt surface-level and somewhat inconsequential.

tw: substance abuse & attempted sexual assault

Rating: 3.5 stars!

I am a sucker for marriage-on-the-rocks/second chance trope! So when I saw this book, I knew I had to get my hands on it! While it's not my favorite, I still really enjoyed it!

The characters were likable and the chemistry was believable. I read this book in one day and would honestly recommend it to anyone who likes second chance. The reason I went with 3.5 instead of 4 is just that while I did enjoy it, I felt like the reveal of why they couple broke up and divorced was anticlimactic. Maybe it was just my expectations but I genuinely thought that final fight that was teased throughout the book was going to be BIGGER and WORSE.

Thanks NetGalley for providing this arc in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book!!! I haven’t read much second chance romances or amnesia based storylines but I actually loved this and want to read more of these tropes! I haven’t read anything by Carina Taylor before but I really like her writing style!

I would definitely recommend this book!!

I have never been the biggest fan of 2nd chance romance, but this is easily becoming my favorite trope. Carina Taylor did such a good job with the ex spouse trope and Meyer and Archie were so fun! The twist, the romance, the pranks, made this such an enjoyable experience.

Second chance romance with amnesia. I'm not a huge fan of amnesia trope but it worked out well in this book

Forget Me Twice is a second-chance romance about Meyer and Archie who were married but have been divorced. Meyer gets a call one day that Archie was in a crash and finds out that he has amnesia and can only remember things from 2 years ago. Meyer lets Archie stay with her while he recuperates and they build back their relationship and realize that they both still like love each other though they aren't sure if they should give their relationship a second chance.

The Amnesia plot is a very significant plot as it went on for about 60 percent of the book also throughout the book we aren't really sure what made them get a divorce but towards the end find out the reason (which to me didn't seem that serious tbh).

This was a really cute read that I wish was longer and had a little more plot, there wasn't also as much angst and tension in the relationship. It focused more on the character's depth, interaction, and development since the plot was mainly about Archie regaining his memory. This book had funny moments and characters and I was rooting for Meyer and Archie to work things out. I really liked how even when they reconciled they had to make the decision of whether they wanted to try and fix things because even though they were in love. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick, cute second chance romance.

Thank you Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for providing this arc in exchange for an honest review, I will be posting this review on my Goodreads account on Sunday the 4th of September.

This book had me hooked from the very beginning as it opens up on Meyer, who gets a call saying her husband has been in a plane accident and she needs to come pick him up. Only problem is - that’s not her husband anymore. They’ve been divorced for over a year. Archie wakes up with amnesia, thinking he’s two years in the past and they’re still happily married. Us readers are left asking if this a second chance or will they have their hearts broken again?

I loved this book! Archie and Meyer were flirty and cute, but not without their own faults. I loved how it showcased that they both accepted their own dealings in the past and were able to work together for the future - whatever the future would be.

4.5/5!
THIS WAS SO GOOD! I knew as soon as I read the synopsis that this was the book for me. The characters are all so likeable in their own special way and all unique from one another, I found myself wanting to hear more about them throughout the story.

ARCHIE is my absolute favourite. He is so sweet and such a golden retriever book boyfriend and it works so well with Meyer being slightly grumpy. Their dynamic throughout this is so cute and I found myself kicking and screaming the whole time. This is a closed door romance, I really wish we could have seen more of the intimacy between Meyer and Archie, I feel like that would have really added more depth the readers understanding of their connection/chemistry but honestly it’s a very very minor critique and is just me nitpicking for the sake of it.

“You have amnesia. Okay, bye.” This was my first book with an amnesia trope, but the second chance romance trope is a true favourite of mine and Forget Me Twice did not disappoint. It was hilarious and such an easy read. A bit slow at times and I thought the character development was a bit light. But overall it was a well written and interesting story that had me laughing out loud. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

What do you do when your ex-husband is involved in an accident and loses his memory of the previous two years, and all he remembers is being happily married to you? That's exactly what Meyer is up against.

Meyer receives a call from the hospital informing her that her ex-husband has been involved in an accident. She is caught off guard by the warmth in her ex's eyes, which she hasn't seen in a long time, and is quickly told by the doctor that he doesn't remember the last two years of his life. She agrees to take him home to try and help him recover as he attempts to try to remember everything he's missed.

This is such a lighthearted take on second chances and what you would do if you could turn back the clock to your mental state before everything went wrong. This book was sweet, warm, and very cute.

If you're looking for a lighthearted, second chance novel with a twist, 'Forget Me Twice' is the book for you.

'Forget Me Twice' is a second-chance romance with a side of 'ex-husband has amnesia' thrown in for good fun. Overall, it was a really nice and easy read. I read from start to finish in one afternoon. I really enjoyed the character of Margaret and how she was threaded throughout the story to be a voice of wisdom for Meyer.

Some parts felt a bit slow and I would have loved to read Archie's perspective in certain parts - like when he came home from the hospital and all of his stuff was missing.
This is my first read from this author and I am looking forward to checking out more from Carina Taylor.
