This is the newest upcoming addition to the 'Little People Big Dreams' series and it didn't disappoint! I always appreciate it when these books focus on modern day figures- I know that my little brother at least also loves to learn about people that he can keep an eye out for in the media. I learned a lot about Marcus Rashford who I found really inspiring and previously knew next to nothing about despite seeing him all over social media. My only issue with this book was that football kept being referred to as 'soccer', which I found especially irritating as this book is about a British footballer- I just don't understand why the book was written this way. Regardless, this is probably one of my favourite in the series so far and I would really recommend it!

This series never fails to disapoint and it is nice to finally have a subject that is appealing and so very relevant for my children in that they know exactly of the story that is being told so they can relate to it.
The illustrations and colours used are enticing and draw in any child but I can't help wonder if because this is such recent history whether the book is really telling my children anything they dont already know??
I still love it and think it still provides an important message.

I received an electronic ARC from Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books through NetGalley.
This series introduces younger readers to current cultural heroes such as Rashford. Sanchez Vegara takes readers from Rashford's childhood through his compassion and push for justice during the pandemic by feeding Britain's children. The illustrations bring his passion for soccer to life as readers see him grow from a child learning the game to a hero of Great Britain's national team. The writing style is simple for elementary level readers to follow and also informative for older readers. I always look forward to seeing who will be added next to this series.

I love this series of books and always find they sum up a persons achievements in enough detail that you know what they have achieved and how they are special but in a really accessible way and the brightly coloured graphics help. a well deserved book to celebrate Marcus and his rise from a difficult start in life to being a successful footballer and importantly how he helped feed children and made a massive impact during the covid 19 pandemic

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

This is my first Little People, BIG DREAMS book and I want to read all of them . The book tells the Marcus Rashford story from humble beginnings to international superstar on and off the field. The author highlights what kind of family he came from ( a loving and supportive family) and how his talent was honed from childhood. I loved the fact that we see his resilience, his hunger and his passion in the few pages. Every child and child at heart that has ever needed a sign to push on must read this book.

What I loved about the book: It’s a children’s book and I appreciate that it was written as so and that it is wonderfully illustrated .

I love the Little People, Big Dreams series of books. This one is about Marcus Rashford, who is a football player from the UK. I was very interested to read about him and his life, and especially how he helped the children of the UK get access to free school meals when they needed them.

The book has lovely graphics and it is fun, colourful and interesting.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

Another SCORE for the Little People, Big Dreams series!!

This newest edition of the Little People, Big Dreams book series features Marcus Rashford, a soccer player from the UK. Marcus's mother struggled and worked hard to provide for her family, but often the family relied on school and charities in order to feed the family. Marcus continued to work hard at his soccer game and quickly rose to become a leader in the game. As Marcus became more successful, he remembered the struggles his family had with providing food for his brothers and sisters. As a result, Marcus worked to help those in need during the COVID pandemic. He continues to be a leader not only in the game of soccer, but also across the world.

The illustrations in this story really help to tell the story in a colorful manner, which is especially helpful for young and beginner readers.

An amazing story about overcoming adversity and keeping your eyes on your goals!!

Grateful to have received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley & Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books, Frances Lincoln Children's Books.

I love the Little People, Big Dreams collection and have felt for a couple of years that Marcus Rashford deserved one so I was excited to see it was happening and it has been on my wish list for a while now.
Children find these books so easy to read and learn from them without realising but their excitement really comes from finding a modern day person, someone they know of to read about. This book was everything I hoped it would be and I know a lot of children who will love it as I did!

I love the Little People, BIG DREAMS series by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara and this one was no exception! I hadn't heard of Marcus Rashford as I don't play soccer and don't live in Britain but thanks to this book I was introduced to him and his work! I imagine this will be hit especially with soccer lovers but also all the kids growing up, wishing to stand against injustices.

Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the ARC.

A fantastic addition to the Little People Big Dreams series. It was interesting to find out more about the background of Marcus Rashford beyond his football career. This is one that will appeal to some of my reluctant boy readers.

Cute brief biography of a very well know athlete. I wish it would have glossed over his bookclub for a page. If you have someone in your family who loves Manchester United this would be a great gift.

You don't need to be a football fan to appreciate how amazing this book and Marcus Rashford are. What a superstar and what an amazing read. Marcus Rashford was born in humble beginnings and with the support of his mother and close family, he pursued his dream of football to become a rising star, even in the face of some horrible racist remarks from some people. as lockdown hit Marcus Rashford realised that many young people in receipt of free school meals would go hungry. Hungry children cannot pursue their dreams. Marcus raised money for a food charity to help support those children and worked alongside them to help feed thousands across the UK and raise awareness within the government so that extra money would go to the families in crisis. Marcus continues to be a voice for these children and families and continues to rise as a football player and be an incredible role model to children across the UK. This is a wonderful addition the the Little People, Big Dreams series with the amazing art work we know so well from the books. As per usual the book is short enough to read in one sitting to young kids and a great book for young readers to try out. My 9 year old finds these easy to read but adores the short biographies and colourful artwork. #MarcusRahford #Netgalley #MariaIsabelSanchezVegara #LittlePeopleBigDreams

This was another brilliant book in the series. Perfect for any age. It's written simply so that younger children can understand, but there is also a lot to discuss with older children.

I love the books in this series and always find something new in them.

This was a book that focused on a fairly new sporting legend - Marcus Rashford who has become more well known to some due to his campaign regarding school dinners and food for children. I knew who he was in terms of him being a footballer but I don't follow that sport and I was more aware from the changes he managed to push through government in pretty much a day - that is some influence!

The book has a little about his home life when he was younger and what gave him the passion and drive to do what he did for children in the Uk to make sure that they did not go hungry if it could be helped.

Lovely images and another great addition to the series - 4 stars from me for this one

I read this with my football loving 7 year old son. He really enjoyed learning about Marcus and the work he did during the covid pandemic and it was a great way to discuss the topic of food poverty and how we can help with this problem. He also remembered watching Marcus miss the penalty in the Euros so felt like a book that he could really relate to.
It would definitely make us keen to read more of the Little People Big Dreams series.

I love this series. I have read tons in the 'Little People, Big Dreams' series and they're such a fabulous set of books for young people.
I was intrigued to read this book as it feels so current - we're not talking about great historical figures, we're talking about stories that were just a couple of years ago.

However, I did feel a bit let down by this book. The writing was so american-ised - lots of phrases that we don't say in the UK. So it just felt really disjointed for me, particularly as Rashford is a UK figure.

The illustrations were as beautiful as ever, and it was definitely inspiring - but the writing style just stood out to me here.

This one seems a little too soon because I know Marcus is going to do many more incredible things in his life but the book was cute and the first I have read that already has a pandemic mention.

I love that the Little People, Big Dreams books are publishing books about people that have accomplished their goals so recently and are so young. I think it really gives kids role models to look up too.
As always this is a great series and I will continue to read them!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced copy.

As a Premier League fan, and fan of Marcus Rashford's charitable work, I was excited to see this addition to the cute and educational "Little People, Big Dreams" series. As the previous books in this series have been, this one clearly and engagingly tells its subject's story, with colorful and expressive illustrations. I do think Rashford is still quite young, and hopefully just getting started both as a footballer and a human rights advocate, so I'm not sure there's really enough to his life and work yet to justify his presence in the series yet... but despite that, it's a good depiction of it all the same.
