I absolutely adore Erica Ridley's writing and these novellas are so entertaining. I love her FMCs. They are always such strong females and so well written. I can always count on her books to scratch my romance itch when I need a change-up in genres!

"The Modiste Mishap" by Erica Ridley weaves a charming tale set against a backdrop of historical romance. Ridley, known for her captivating storytelling, creates a delightful narrative that unfolds in the world of fashion and societal expectations.

The novel introduces readers to the concept of a "modiste," adding a unique and exciting element to the story. The mishaps that ensue contribute to the overall comedic tone, making the book an engaging and light-hearted read. Ridley's ability to infuse humour into historical romance adds a refreshing touch, offering me a break from the usual seriousness of the genre.

The characters in "The Modiste Mishap" are likely well-developed, showcasing Ridley's skill in creating relatable and endearing protagonists. The interactions and relationships between characters, a hallmark of the romance genre, are likely to be a highlight, contributing to the overall enjoyment of the story.

3 stars! (only because it lacks the depth of a full-length!)

These sweet little novellas really make sure I have a nice time. I liked the one before this one and this one as well. They give me all the Bridgerton vibes and I'm totally down for that! :)

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!

I love these short novels about The Heist Club in between Wynchester books! Erica Ridley brings us a mystery of stolen dresses that the club has to solve. Our central character is Sybil, who runs a lending library. I loved this quick read that brings us back into the mad-cap world of the Wynchesters.

Thank you #Netgalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

This was quite a lovely little book. I really liked the heroine and read it for her. It did have some slow moments but overall I thought it was a sweet little novel.

The Heist Club has another mission - find out who stole all the fancy dresses before the ball is ruined!

Sybil is desperate to be the belle of the ball for one night and have a full dance card. She has saved her money for 3 years to be able to afford a knock-off dress, and she's ecstatic. When she finds out that the modiste who dresses the elite is robbed, she knows exactly what she needs to do and enlists the members of her reading group, and the Wynchesters, to help her solve this crime.

This was another fun novella with a lot of action. Highly entertaining as usual.

This ARC was provided by the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.

The Heist Club is back! This time famed, modiste Blanchet, has been robbed of the season’s newest creations. Bookish Sybil decides to investigate with her reading circle. Will they conquer or fail in this new quest? Cute story. I liked Sybil a lot, so I’m glad she was the lead in this venture.

This is the first of the Heist Club books I've read, though I've read the books this fits between (#2 and #3 in the Wild Wynchesters series), and it nicely references both #2 and hints to what might come in #3. It was a fun read set in that world but not terribly deep in plot. While the Wynchesters seem to dig into issues of class and wealth, this felt a little bit less "deep" in that way (especially in the details of the plot itself.

Thank you for allowing me to read this book. I enjoy all books by Erica Ridley and this one did not disappoint. I definitely have to go back and read the book before this one. But it's a great continuation of the Wynchester family. I just love Sybil.

Sybil Stamper is keen to solve the mysterious theft of twenty five dresses from London’s top modiste before the woman can be ruined by being unable to deliver them to her clients. To do so she needs the help of her fellow blue-stockings and the Wynchesters. The shenanigans involved in searching for the dresses is delightful. Grab a copy it made me and made me want to keep turning the pages to find out what would happen next.

A great read that kept me on the edge of my seat and left me breathless for more. An edge of your seat emotional roller coaster adventure filled with witty and engaging charters, heart racing twists and exciting turns.

Another absolutely delightful novella in the Heist Club series. The series fits in between the full-length novels of the Wild Wynchesters series, so you'll probably want to read that series alongside this one for the best experience.

Sybil is the lowest-ranking member of the reading circle sometimes known as the Heist Club. She has always wanted to be the belle of the ball, and after a lot of saving, she has finally managed to acquire the perfect ballgown. But a chance encounter with London's most sought-after designer leads to her getting involved with uncovering who has stolen the designer's latest creations. Sybil enlists the help of the Heist Club and the Wynchesters to make sure everyone gets their happy ending.

I liked the little taster we got for book three in the Wild Wynchester series. Previous instalments of the Heist Club series focused more heavily on the heroine of the next Wynchester book. In this one, it's limited to a quick blink-and-miss cameo that nonetheless manages to intrigue the reader into picking up the next Wynchester book.

Eh, this didn’t work for me like the first Heist Club novella did. I still thought it was fun story and I still really love this cast of characters. I also really liked how this story revolved around modistes and fashion. I thought that was fun. I just didn’t have the same excitement around this novella as I did the first one.

Thanks to Netgalley and Webmotion for the ARC of this!

Another fun, cozyish mystery in the world of the Wynchesters. Loved seeing the Heist Club continuing to help people, while going for what they want. I’m so excited to start Nobody’s Princess to see more!

The Modiste Mishap by Erica Ridley is a fun historical story filled with mystery and romance. The Heist Club gets help from the Wild Wynchesters, and when they get together hilarious situations ensue. Sybil loves lists and books, I really liked her character. Another great book by Erica Ridley.

***** I received an ARC from NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my honest review. *****

As I hadn’t read the Wild Winchester’s yet, I had some trouble to come into the story. Sybil has ordered a gown with the popular modiste Mme Blanchet. When all the gowns (including Sybil’s one) go missing, Sybil and the Winchester siblings set out to find the gowns. A funny story, cozy and cute.

But a bit ‘flat’ for my liking. Maybe because it was only a short story? Overall, three out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Another outing for the ladies of Heist Club! This adventure, involving stolen fashion designs, is another sparklingly witty caper that sits perfectly as a side-story to the main Wynchesters series. It’s total fluff, but honestly, that’s exactly what I was hoping for – it’s just a fun, slighly silly Regency time. I think I might actually like this subseries more than the main series!
