I love Edens books!! And The first two Savage Wells books were probably some of my very first introductions into the world of clean romance books. So when I found out that Sarah was adding to those, I jumped on it!! I was so excited to read about Hawks story and I was NOT let down at all. Liesl and Hawk were adorable, but both of them had some feisty tempers. Hawk prides himself on having a heart that is stone cold, but he is lonely and tired of not having family. But to protect the people in the town he loves, he has to keep being the lawman with a heart of stone….. until he meets Liesl of course. But Liesl doesn’t trust easily and has had to so her own protecting of the town she lives in. You will also see plenty of all of your favorite characters from the other books!!! I am hoping that we will see other characters get their stories as well (Tansy….Andrew….Enso!!)

If you are looking for:
🤠Action
🤠Adventure
🤠Swooney Moments
🤠Shootouts
🤠Hidden identities
🤠Scheming

You will love this book. You could read this as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the other two first so you have more background of the other characters in the book!!

*I received aa copy of this book as an ARC reviewer, but a positive review wasn’t required. All thoughts are solely what I personally thought of this beautiful book.❤️❤️❤️

Highly anticipated, yet still defies expectations

Ever since we've been introduced to John Hawking in the Sheriffs of Savage Wells and Healing Hearts, as well as hearing the Imagine Dragons song "Natural" That Sarah Eden associates with Hawking "Hawk", I've wanted to know more about this confident and capable lawman.

Liesel was unexpected in all the best ways. Being the daughter of the corrupt sheriff, she was in such a unique position. Even in the face of her father's atrocities, she tried to do good and help others. I loved seeing Liesel and Hawk grow individually and as a couple.

I enjoyed the first two books in this series, but Wyoming Wild just might be my new favorite. This isn't just a western romance, it has adventure and intrigue aplenty, along with a lively band of characters.

Sarah Eden is a treasure and this book confirms what I've known for more than a decade of reading her books: she is a gifted storyteller!

Trigger warning: Abusive parent. I would rate this PG for thematic violence, kissing, and the abuse mentioned.

✨Book Review✨

“She smiled at him. “I’m beginning to suspect you’re fond of me.”
“Beginning to suspect?” He shook his head. “If you’re only suspecting, you ain’t paying much attention.”“

Are you a fan of western romances? Do you love the grumpy/sunshine trope? How do you feel about quirky characters? If you said yes to any of these questions you have to check out Wyoming Wild by Sarah M. Eden! This is the third book in the Sheriffs of Savage Wells series.

John “Hawk” Hawking is a hardened US Marshal with the reputation of “a heart of stone.” Lisel Hodges, the daughter of a rogue sheriff, works to undermine the evil her father inflicts on the town of Sand Creek. An assassination plot bring the two together and they must work together to bring the sheriff to justice.

What did I love about this book? Besides everything?
- The sweet romance! I loved the chemistry between Hawk and Lisel.
- Getting to go back to Savage Wells and see all the lovable and quirky characters from the other books.
- The word ain’t! It’s not often I read books where “ain’t” is used.
- Lamb.
- I loved getting to see more of the Wild West!

I can’t recommend this book or series enough! Sarah M Eden does not disappoint with this story.

I enjoyed this story and really came to admire the 2 main characters Hawk and Liesel. Some writers do such a good job with dialogue and Sarah M. Eden is one of them. I have found that the better the dialogue, the more I enjoy the book. 4 stars.

This is the story of US Marshal John Hawking. He has done his best to clean up the towns under his care from criminal elements, but when he gets a warning about a death threat from a small town on the outer reaches of his jurisdiction, he heads there—and gets more than he bargained for. Liesl is doing her best to help those families that are being hurt by their corrupt sheriff—who also happens to be her father. Circumstances quickly spiral out of her control and John and Liesl are thrown into a situation they could never have predicted. Can they bring down a criminal enterprise when they aren’t sure who to trust? And can John let Liesl into his heart when danger is all around them?

This book was one of my favorites so far this year. There was action and adventure, a slow-burn romance, and a glimpse of previous characters from the first two books. Wyoming Wild can definitely be enjoyed without reading the first two in the series, but it is a richer experience in knowing some of the supporting characters if you have. Ms. Eden masterfully pulls together all the elements of danger and a blossoming romance as she draws the reader into a time when the west was a place of hopes, dreams, and harsh realities. Our hero, Marshal Hawking, is a man who believes his heart is made of stone, and that he’ll never find someone to love. Liesl is a determined woman when she’s trying to save the people she loves, and both of them have a strong sense of justice. Their love story wasn’t an easy one, but the ending was worth the wait. Wyoming Wild is a western thrill ride with danger and intrigue around every corner and a sweet, heartwarming romance to match.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and Shadow Mountain in exchange for my honest opinion.

Genre: Proper Romance, Western Romance
Spice level: Sweet

I just have to gush about the author for a minute—I adore her work. Every time I pick up another Eden book, I know I'm going to be entertained and love her characters. She has earned my trust as a reader.

WYOMING WILD fits my expectations perfectly. We've got the good guys and the bad guys. Lawmen with badges. A gun-toting gal or two. Downtrodden. Ernest folks. Just what us city folk are missing in our daily lives.

I'm fanning myself as I think about the main male lead.
We've got a sassy, honest, funny heroine—Liesl—who can't trust no one, most of all her father, the sheriff. And I'm a bit in love with Hawk for his goodness and manliness. He's rough around the edges. But his smile and flirting tells us he's more than a lawman. He's so conflicted with his heart of stone and doesn't have a clue of what to do with Liesl. It's so fun to see him work through his disconnect.

This book is perfect in so many ways.
- Great fun from page one
- Use of the word "ain't" got me laughing 'cause the book is dedicated to "ain't"
- Swoon-worthy men
- A strong gal
- A perfect setting
- Angst
- Danger (as in real danger, not imagined)
- Dancing
- Guns (a requirement for a western)
- And the ending (fanning myself again)

Yes! I highly recommend this book. It's great for anyone from your teen to your great-grandma.

Happy reading!

What a fun addition to the series! Although Westerns are not my typical genre, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was so nice to see Hawk have a happy ending. It was fun to see so many characters from the previous books throughout the story. I liked Leisl, and the moral conflicts she faced and overcame by the end of the book. Leisl was brave, and I loved the tender moments between her and Hawk. Plenty of adventure and action throughout the book had me turning pages to see how it ended. Would definitely recommend!

Sarah Eden has once again created a wonderful romance with so much depth. Wyoming Wild demonstrates that Eden understands that good romances take place between well-developed characters, are nestled within a rich setting, and have conflicts both related to and unrelated to the romance. Wyoming Wild is both an excellent addition to the Savage Wells series and a wonderful book in its own right.

The plot is well paced and well balanced. I appreciate that the conflict in Wyoming Wild is a mixture of romantic conflict between our leads (as they sort out their relationship) and situational conflict. Eden understands that romance is a part of life, along with family, friendship, work, and community. Sorting out the mystery of who is behind the various acts in the novel is fascinating; this is one of Eden's most nuanced works yet in this area!

I loved getting to see into Hawk's mind and heart, as this book is from his perspective. I enjoy series where the each book pulls from roughly the same cast of characters, but with a different character (or characters) as the main focus of each book; Eden does this wonderfully in this series. We got to check in with characters from earlier books (Paisley and Cade, Gideon and Miriam, Tansy, etc.) while getting to step into Savage Wells through Hawk's perspective. I loved learning more of his heart (despite all of his denials that he possessed one!) and more of how his brain works.

The new-to-this-book characters were wonderful as well. Liesl and the people of Sand Creek were written so realistically. Their perserverence in the face of challenges was beautifully real - they keep going in spite of experiencing opposition and fear and disappointment because Sand Creek is home. I particularly appreciated the portray of Liesl and her mother. Abuse by a family member should never be treated lightly, and Eden took care to portray it with the gravity it deserves. Liesl and her mother both act realistically overall in light of the abuse they have endured at the hands of Liesl's father; their fear is never trivialized or ignored in Eden's presentation of their characters. Eden -- once again! -- clearly did her research to be certain to treat a difficult topic both sensitively and in a way that reflects reality.

Also woven throughout this novel (as with Eden's other works) is the theme of women as people, despite their treatment historically. Her female characters cope with the constraints of the time beautifully and without being weak characters. My favorite line from the novel -- "Women have always done more than our fair share of heavy lifting. Never forget that."

Definitely a satisfying read for all Sarah Eden fans and fans of historical romance! Thank you to Sarah M. Eden, Shadow Mountain, and Netgally for the eARC! All opinions are my own.

In the heart of cowboy country, a sheriff’s daughter discovers a plot to murder a US Marshal, which brings about change for her entire town.

After I get it, receiving a cryptic telegram about a possible assassination attempt, US marshal, John Hawking, heads to sand creek, incognito to see what he can discover.

In a town where corruption and injustice rule, Hawk is surprised to find that his informant is none other than the corrupt sheriffs daughter, Liesl.

Now, he needs to risk her life and that of her mothers to rescue them and find justice for not only them, but all the inhabitants of Sand Creek.

Liesl is obvious weary of trusting, law-enforcement, after growing up with her father, but can she find it in your heart to trust Hawk after his initial deception and can she also let her heart fall for him?

I absolutely loved this classic western romance. There was plenty of action and relationship building as the story progressed. I really appreciated that both Hawk and Liesl had to grow and develop in order to allow love to blossom between them.

This book didn’t provide an easy cookie cutter solution to the problems the characters faced. Hawk and Liesl had to work hard to find justice and their eventual HEA.

I have read other works by Sarah M Eden, and enjoyed them. This is my first Western from her and it was excellently rendered. She has a real way of bringing history to life and immersing you in period. I can’t recommend this book enough to fans of historical fiction and romance

Old West Proper Romance

This book has all the things you might think of as a regular western, including a shoot-out in the street, but is unique since the bad guy is the sheriff of a small town.

John Hawking (Hawk) is a US Marshal in Wyoming and receives an anonymous tip that the sheriff of Sand Creek is corrupt. He and deputy Paisley O’Brien go undercover as brother and sister John and Mary Butler to investigate the situation.

Liesl Hodges is the strong and courageous daughter of the corrupt sheriff. Despite constant danger due to her father’s violent temper, she does what she can to help the people he and his four partners terrorize. Two of them run the post office and the telegraph, controlling all communication in and out of the town. People end up trapped and without the means to escape.

I loved getting to know more about Hawk and revisiting other characters from the previous books in the series. This book can be read alone, but you won’t want to miss the first book in the series - The Sheriffs of Savage Wells is hilarious. Thanks to Shadow Mountain Publishing and NetGalley for an ARC to use for my review.

Trigger warning, this book contains domestic abuse.

I was so excited to read Hawks story. Author, Sarah Eden doesn’t disappoint. The story starts with Marshall Hawking.(Hawk) and his deputies hunting down some fugitives. It was great to see some characters from other Savage Wells books. Paisley O’Brien is one of his deputy marshals, she is such a feisty and fearless woman. When Hawk gets an anonymous telegram that someone is out to kill him, he and Paisley team up to become brother and sister in an undercover operation in Sand Creek. One of the first people he meets is Liesl Hodges, the daughter of the local sheriff. The story just gets better as it goes along. Intrigue, adventure, danger, corrupt leaders, justice and best of all, sweet romance. There are the typical western shootouts, corrupt lawmen, and dancing at the town social. As the story hits its climax, I was a touch disappointed in the villain at the helm. I got over it quickly and truly enjoyed the ending. 4.5 stars
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

If you aren’t a Western romance fan, this may be the book to convert you! In Wyoming Wild, Sarah Eden creates a suspenseful, mysterious, romantic tale of an iron hearted lawman, and the daughter of a corrupt Sheriff who’s trying to bring him to justice. It’s a fast-paced read with witty dialogue, lots of action, swoon worthy romance, and a compelling cast of characters who’ll tug on your heart strings. It was a joy returning to Savage Wells and I’m hoping we might get even more stories in the future.

John Hawking or Hawk is a tough US Marshall trying to bring law and order to the Wyoming Territory. He doesn’t have time for love and worries about the perils his jobs would bring to a family. When he receives an anonymous telegram that there’s an assassination plot against him, he’s ready to brush it off with all the others, but this one specifically names a corrupt Sheriff behind the plot. He decides to visit the small town of Sand Creek posing undercover as a farmer to investigate. What he doesn’t expect to find is the courageous, beautiful daughter of the Sheriff who’s willing to risk everything to end the corruption.

Liesl Hodge knows what she’ll face if she goes against her father, but she can’t let another innocent person die if she can prevent it. In a daring move, she sneaks off a telegram hoping to warn the Marshall in time. When a handsome farmer comes to town with lots of charm and confidence, she can’t help but fall for him. But, when she learns his secret, she feels betrayed. Trusting Hawk becomes a challenge, but in order to finally rid her town of the corrupt Charming Chaps gang, they must work together.

Loved Hawk & Liesl! They’re the perfect match. Despite having such an abusive father, Liesl is caring and brave. She doesn’t hesitate to put herself in danger for her mother or others. I loved the witty banter between her and Hawk and those swoony moments where forced proximity and a fake relationship put them very close together. As farmer John Hawking, we get to see a softer side of Hawk and it’s easy to understand why Liesl falls for him.

It was so enjoyable seeing characters from previous books and returning to the welcoming town of Savage Wells. The ending had me on pins and needles and I kept hearing “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” theme song as I was reading that final showdown. It’s the perfect ending to a Western romance. The ultimate bad guy was a surprise and I loved that I didn’t see it coming.

This is definitely a must read for Western romance fans and those who’d like to try the genre. It can definitely be read as a standalone, but is more enjoyable if you’ve read the previous books in the series. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own and I was not required to provide a positive review.

Content: abusive parent, some mild violence including a shootout, mentions of murder, clean with mild kissing scenes.

This book is a great addition to the series, and my favorite one! I love being back in the setting of the Wild West and getting to see some characters from the last two books again. The action and mystery of the story drew me in right away and kept me hooked until the very last page.

While reading the previous books, I was hoping that Hawk would get his own story. He's my favorite kind of love interest- grumpy but a secret softie. The romance that develops between him and Liesl is so sweet. Liesl has to learn to trust a man after being around so many bad ones and Hawk has to learn to open his heart to her and trust her in return.

I had two tiny issues with the book that made me take away the half star. First, Liesl says that she is in love with John (aka Hawk) too early for my taste. The second thing is that their first kiss was not a romantic moment that I was hoping it would be. It was a sentence long moment and I just wish we had gotten more, as that moment is a major part of romance novels.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes sweet historical romances that have an engaging plot as well as romance.

I really enjoyed Hawk’s character in the other Savage Wells stories, and I’m so glad he got his own book!! I adored the pairing of him and Liesl.

Liesl was so strong and caring despite her circumstances. She constantly put others before herself and was a devoted friend and townsperson. Hawk grew so much throughout the story, and I liked seeing more of his compassionate side come out!

The mystery/suspenseful aspects of this book kept me on my toes! I was constantly worrying about the characters’ safety and what was going to happen next and I liked how everything turned out in the end.

While this is the third book in the series it can be read as a standalone.

Read it for:
🤠Western romance
🤠Slow burn romance
🤠Mystery/light suspense
🤠Hidden identity

Content warning: abusive parent, murder

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Shadow Mountain Publishing, and the author for a complimentary copy. All opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

“Tender feelings? Ridiculous.
He was Marshal Hawking. The man who’d brought peace to a dangerous territory. The man who’d assembled a team of deputies who were equally feared and respected. The man who’d dedicated his life to saving orders.
He had no tender feelings.
He couldn’t afford them.”

Life in Sand Creek isn’t easy. At all. There is crime and corruption everywhere, and no one knows what to do about it. But when Liesl Hodges overhears a plot to murder Marshal Hawking, she has to do something. When Hawk receives an anonymous telegram warning him of the plot, he sets out to figure out who’s behind it, only to find much more than he had planned on.

I loved this third Savage Wells novel! It was hard for me to put down from the dedication to the end. It might be my favorite of the series so far, although the shooting contest with Paisley and Cade in the first book, is hard to beat. This book has suspense and romance, which is one of my favorite combinations! And I thought I had figured out who was behind it all, and I wasn’t thrilled with it, but my suspicions were wrong, thank goodness. I love the town of Savage Wells with all its quirky characters, and I hope we’ll get more stories about them soon!

Loved. This. Book!

Hawk gets his well deserved story and Leisl was so perfect!

Lots of twists and turns and has a lot of Cade and Paisley which it should because they will always be my favorite!

Sarah Eden is always a win, but this western (cowboys, western towns, sharpshooters, outlaws, accents) series is seriously one of my favorites. This was one of those books I was SO EXCITED to read, but also didn't want to because I knew when I read it, it would be over! (Much rereading will happen!!)

Seriously, read this series. You will have no regrets!

A wonderfully written historical western that pulls out all the stops!

Mystery, suspense, bad guys, an undercover lawman and a determined woman. Oh yes, it is a page turner that will not stop until the last page!

This author writes such emotional stories with characters that become endearing to the reader!! Don't miss this or anything written by Sarah!

What fun it was to return to the wild west territory of Wyoming in 1876! Sarah M. Eden’s new book, Wyoming Wild, stars U.S. Marshal John “Hawk” Hawking and Liesl Hodges, the daughter of the corrupt and violent sheriff of Sand Creek. Liesl is trying to mitigate her father’s actions and comes across the information that he and his gang have plans to kill Hawk. When she sends a telegram to warn him, he comes to Sand Creek in disguise to investigate. As Hawk and Liesl hatch a plan to arrest the criminals, they have to find out who the accomplices are.

With lots of danger, suspense, action, and a dash of romance, this book is sure to satisfy Eden’s fans and those who enjoy clean and wholesome historical fiction. Filled with Eden’s signature wit and humor, it is well-written with colorful, engaging characters and some purely evil villains. It was such fun to revisit the town of Savage Wells and catch up with some of the characters in previous stories by this author. 4.5 stars

"I'm beginning to suspect you're fond of me."
"Beginning to suspect?" He shook his head. "If you're only suspecting, you ain't paying much attention."

Sarah Eden does it again with her Western Romances. I read this one in 24 hours! After reading about the O'Brien's and the McNamaras in her previous books about Savage Wells, Hawk finally gets his own story in Wyoming Wild. The book definetly brings in the damsel in distress vibes, but with a woman strong enough to face her distress as well. What I loved about this book was the teamwork that it took between the main characters and everyone else in the town to rescue the town of Sand Creek. I also loved that the swoony romance was not the only part of the book, the plot of a rescue pushed the book along, and kept me engaged the entire time.

Thank you to NetGalley for the advance copy of the book. All opinions are my own, and I was not required to leave a positive review.
