Sarah M. Eden is another new-to-me author, and it's been a long time since I delved into a novel of historical romance, but I love a good western romance setting, so I gave this one a try. For this reader, it was simply just an okay read, and it gets 3 stars.

My first issue with this novel was the langauge--way too many "ain'ts" and grammatical errors for this former English teacher, not to mention all the grammatical errors made by the characters. I simply found it hard to believe that anyone educated at all back then ever spoke using such poor grammar. It was very off-putting.

As far as plot goes, it wasn't a bad read, although the hero in this novel, Marshall John Hawking, who considered himself to have a heart of stone, wasn't quite that bad--his attraction fro Liesl was almost immediate, but he hid it well. I did like the slow build, clean romance between him and Liesl, as well as the mytery and suspense factors, but I found Hawkins reasoning as he tried to find and arrest Liesl's father and his criminal cronies, while keeping Liesl and her mother safe in the same town, more than a bit faulty.

Having never read any of the author's previous novels, I had no problem reading this as a standalone, but it just wasn't a standout for this reader. If you're a fan of historical western romance novels, this one might work better for you than it did for me.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.

I enjoy books by Sarah Eden, so was excited about the chance to read this one.

John Hawking (Hawk) is a US Marshall in the Wild West. He has worked hard to clean up the territory he is over, so when a telegram arrives stating there's a death threat circulating about him, he decides to go investigate. And what better way than to go undercover?

Liesl is the daughter of the local sheriff, a very corrupt man who happens to be the one that spoke the death threat. In order to save herself and her mother from the violence, Liesl does all she can to keep the peace, but also help the locals as they struggle under the tyranny of her father.

Trust is hard to build for Liesl and when she finally chooses to assist Hawk in taking down her father and his violent friends, it takes a lot of faith on her part.

Overall a very good read. I enjoyed reading this one and just imagining what the frontier really was like at the time.

Thanks to NetGalley and Shadow Mountain for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Marshal Hawking has been described as having a heart as cold and hard as stone, and he's convinced that staying that way is the only way he can keep his territory safe. But when an anonymous warning that he is to be assassinated sends him to Sand Creek to investigate further and find out who sent it, he meets a woman who brings his heart to life. Liesl's father is the sheriff of Sand Creek and controls it with an iron fist - a fist which often comes into play when people can't pay his exorbitant and unreasonable 'taxes'. She hates the whole thing and protects the town as best she can, but is far from safe herself. When a newcomer to town starts to help out, she feels less alone - but that worsens her feeling of betrayal when she learns he isn't who he claimed. Can they together bring down the ring that is making life miserable for Sand Creek? And can Hawk and Liesl each come to see that Marshal Hawking and John Butler are really just two sides of the same coin?

I've mainly known this author for her Regencies (which I love), but when I saw this book, I knew I had to try it - and I'm so glad I did. There's mystery, suspense, action and adventure - but it's the characters that really made the story for me. They drew me in from the very first page and I was at once glad to see them get their happy ending and sorry to say goodbye to them when I reached the last page. I loved Liesl's eagerness to do the right thing even when it would or could cost her - and the struggle it was to follow through at times, which kept her human! Hawk is presented, at least initially, as quite unbending, and watching that facade soften as he interacted with Liesl was delightful. Finally, some good villains were brought to book one way or another, which was satisfying! All in all, a great story - highly recommended.

Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.

This had one of the most intriguing, unusual set-ups I've seen. I liked the main characters and it was interesting to see people from the earlier books in the series. I was confused by the suspense part of the story, though. The hero's job is to keep the heroine safe while he solves the mystery, but he didn't seem to do either very well. It was a quick, fun read and I'd still recommend this one, especially if you've enjoyed the earlier books in Sarah Eden's western series.

What we have here are just a few of my favorite things…
A new Sarah Eden book ✅
A western ✅✅
A NEW SARAH EDEN WESTERN! ✅✅✅

Returning to Savage Wells feels oh so good! And Marshall John Hawkin’s story was absolutely worth the wait 😍.

When Hawk, our fearless US Marshall with a duty to keep the Wyoming territory a safe place, gets an anonymous telegram warning him of an assassination plot against his life, little does he know the impact this case will have on him!
Liesl, daughter of a corrupt Sheriff does all she can to help the people that are treated poorly by her father. After hearing of an assassination plot she quickly springs into action to help warn the Marshall. But things take a turn in ways she never could have imagined!

I absolutely loved this story! Not only was was it exciting but it also had a bit of mystery and romance woven through. The pace was quick and kept you engaged at all times. I’ve always been a fan of westerns and having exceptionally well written clean books like this one to read in this genre is the cherry on top 👌🏻.

Besides the plot, the characters were wonderful too! Hawk had so much more depth than we’ve previously seen and Liesl was a force to be reckoned with. I love how she challenged Hawk in the best ways. And it was fun to be with the other residents of Savage Wells too! Tansy, Andrew, Cade and Paisley, Gideon and Miriam. All playing a vital role in the story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It’s one you definitely don’t want to miss! In fact, you might just gobble it up in one sitting 🤓📖😜.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. I was not required to leave a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a wild ride! I absolutely LOVED this book. I adored Hawk before and I’m pretty sure I adore him more after this sweet and tender story of the tough guy with a “stone heart”. And Liesl is just the heroine he needs with the strength I like to read about. She doesn’t let hard times knock her down and that is a trait I admire. This is a fabulous ending to the trilogy! This book has made it to my favorite top five books of the year list.

A visit to Savage Wells was long overdue for me, so I jumped at the chance to read this story (even though it doesn't all take place in Savage Wells.) Liesl is my hero! Even though it was her father who was the scoundrel, she risked everything to help out her fellow townfolk whenever she could. Such an inspiring example of doing the right thing even when it's not at all easy.

All of my favorite Savage Wells characters played a part in this story - something I love about all of this author's series. This is a standalone story, but you would get a lot more out of it if you read the previous books in the series first.

I highly recommend this story.

The third installment of the Savage Wells series comes up in just a handful of weeks and it's one you don't want to miss out on.  I for one was rooting for a story for Hawk and this did not disappoint.
You'll like this book if you enjoy:
* Western Romances
* Suspense/Intrigue
* Slow burning love
* Beloved characters from the Savage Well's series
I could not put this book down. From cover to cover it kept up the pace of suspense, mystery and growing love. I always wondered what was going to happen so I had to keep reading. Which if you see me in real life, I probably have bags under my eyes from the nights I stayed up reading.
Both Liesl and Hawk needed to learn to trust their hearts and instincts. Which they did, and the character growth throughout this book was what gave them the happy ending. Liesl is one strong woman who stood up to a bully of sorts and tries to save her town that her father runs. She may be one of my top favorite heroines. While Hawk claims to have a heart of stone, his heart had no chance being up against Liesl. I liked seeing this new side of Marshal Hawking. Definitely makes a girl want to swoon.
Some of my thoughts are all over the place. So to not give any spoilers, I will stop here. I just highly recommend this book, and if you get the chance to read it, lets chat. I would love to talk about it without ruining the book for anyone. Even my oldest would, who nabbed my copy before I got the chance.
FYI:
* This book does contain mild violence and an abusive parent. But its still a clean read. No fowl language
* Also while this book is the third of the Savage Wells series, it could be read as a standalone. It just might make you want to read the first two books after. Which is never a bad thing.

I have recently learned that I absolutely love sweet western romances, and this one was just what I look for. It had a wonderful love story. Leisl is a strong character, learning to trust again. US Marshall Hawking comes to town undercover and soon wins her heart, but his secrets may destroy any trust she has tentatively given him. It just tears your heart to see them fight to be together. Hawk is also learning to balance his life as US Marshall and what his heart desires.

Amongst all this romance, is a great backdrop of wild west action, secondary characters that steal your heart, and a traitor in their midst.

This is my first Sarah Eden book, and although this is the second (or third?) book in the series, I didn't feel like I missed out on anything important to this particular story. But I will.now be reading more from her massive backlist!

I enjoy a good Western story. I think it's my favorite part of history. I enjoyed reading this story very much. Sarah Eden knows how to tell a story. I was very pleased to watch events happen as the book progressed. One item in particular was how Liesl looked at things logically and kept her wits about her. When she learns who Hawk is, she doesn't dwell on being angry with him. She is hurt, but realizes the situation called for a bit of deceit. The characters are each strong in their own way.

"Dependable" might not be the flashiest word to describe an author's writing, but I love knowing there are those authors you can always count on for a good story—and Sarah M. Eden is definitely that. I've really enjoyed her Wyoming series overall and this is a great addition. Sympathetic characters and a gentle romance—yes, please!

Absolutely amazing. Sarah Eden creates a story you can’t put down. From the first paragraph I didn’t want to stop reading. Wonderful story about finding the value of one’s self, trusting others, and of course love.

‘Hawk stood and slipped his free arm a bit around her waist. “You’ve been dancing with the wrong people, lamb.”’

I love the Savage Wells series, so when Sarah Eden surprised everyone with the news that she was releasing a third book, I was elated. I know fans everywhere joined me in celebrating that Hawk final got his story!

If you’ve read book one and two, you know somethings about Marshal John “Hawk” Hawking. He’s on a mission to stop corruption in the west and it’s rumored he has a heart of stone. When he receives an anonymous telegraph warning of a plot to murder him, he immediately sets off to the town of Sand Creek where the telegram originated from. There he goes undercover as a farmer named John Butler and meets Liesl, the corrupt sheriff’s daughter.

Liesl knows her father is a dangerous man and has made it her mission to protect the town from him. When a new farmer moves to town, Liesl is quick to warn him but can’t help but feel a connection to this strong, dependable man who doesn’t seem scared of her father.

“Of all the people she’d known over the years, he seemed most likely to actually survive life in this soul-shattering place. If only he would be careful.”

This was such a tender story mixed with lots of mystery and suspense! I loved Hawk and Liesl together. They have an instant attraction but when lies are discovered, their relationship hits rock bottom and they really have to start all over again. Liesl is courageous and brave. I loved seeing Hawk’s heart slowly soften for Liesl and he was so protected of her.

“He reached over and brushed back a strand of hair the wind had blown across her face. Her hitched breath seemed to turn solid in an instant at his touch. She couldn’t have spoken if she tried, and she certainly couldn’t let go.”

The action in this book was great and I loved how suspenseful it was. Some of the dialogue felt like overemphasized western “talk”. I loved how all the characters from the previous books joined the cast. This can be read as a stand alone, but I recommend reading books one and two first. This was a delightful addition to the Savage Wells series!

This book is a clean romance.

Thank you to the author and NetGalley for my eARC. All opinions are my own.

I have a terrible memory, so I don’t remember Hawk from the Sheriffs of Savage Wells, but I can tell you that this book can be read independently. Or with a poor memory for details.

Hawk is the Marshall for the Wyoming territory. When he gets word that someone intends to assassinate him, he follows the lead to Sand Creek and finds more corruption than he bargained for. He also finds Liesel, a woman who sacrifices over and over again to protect others. She might be softening his hard hard, but his profession requires that he be cold and unfeeling, doesn’t it?

I loved seeing Hawk come to terms with himself. Liesel was strong and amazing, just the kind of counterpart he needed. I loved the banter, and the way she could wrap him around her little finger. The mystery and adventure kept me at the edge of my seat.

Other related recommendations: The Hanger’s Horsemen series by Karen Witemeyer (also includes lawman in the west).

What. A. Book. What a book, y'all.

I have been looking forward to Wyoming Wild ever since it was announced, and let me just tell you - it did not disappoint. It was every bit as epic as I thought it would be.

The action, suspense, mystery, and intrigue were all on point. Several nights in a row I stayed up later than I was planning because I just kept turning pages, needing to know what came next! (Yes, this book is a total sleep stealer. You've been warned.)

Also, the romance was stellar. Hawk has been one of my favorite characters from the beginning, and I'm so glad he finally got his own story! Liesl was the perfect match for him. She was brave and determined, and one of those characters you just can't help but love from the very beginning. Basically they were just the cutest.

Moral of the story here, friends, is that y'all need this book in your life. If it isn't on your TBR list, add it quick. Trust me friends. You aren't going to want to miss it!!

Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the early copy; all thoughts are my own :)

Will they be able to mend the route he unintentionally damaged …

I discovered the author with her Dread Penny Society series, so changing continent and setting was intriguing.
And now after reading this book, I want to read the stories of the hero’s friends from Savage Wells series.
Liesl and Hawk have been hardened by life, everyone of their experiences taking a toll on their soul.
Liesl is running ragged to prevent her father’s petty acts and violente retributions to those who are unable to meet with his demands. Yet she is only her, very alone when everybody cowers and hides. She is close to be the only one taking matter in her own hands, with all the risks it goes with and the price she would have to pay if caught.
Hawk has buried his young self dreams and hope under the weight of his deeds on the name of law and order, as the life of a man of justice in this part of the world is one of shadow and sin.
So when a hint about a possible menace on his life reaches him, he is determined to catch who is behind it.
He just did not know he would kick in an anthill, with more than one fellow turning the rules for their own gain and greed. Nor did he expect to enjoy his time with a wealth of intelligence and kindness in the name of the villain of the town’s daughter.

With this tale, the author brings together two people who have learnt the hard way to be wary of others and that violence is often the result of trusting the wrong persons.
Their path toward one another is not smooth as beliefs are tested and justice not always comes straightforward, plus when secret agendas are shared, Liesl comes to doubt what she has felt, was indeed a mirage to win her confidence while Hawk retreats behind his man of justice’s suit, once more cold and withdrawn.
Will their resilience guid them finally on the right path.
A heartwarming tale of second chances, 4.5 stars

Wyoming Wild is a fun, clean, western romance by author Sarah Eden. I am not usually a fan of western so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I really liked the main characters, Hawk and Leisl. The romance between them was so sweet. The story line had enough action to keep me interested and I couldn’t wait to see how things turned out. This is a book I definitely recommend reading!

There are so many things to love about this book and loved it I did. A big rough-and-tough sheriff. A woman on a mission to save her small Wild West town from her evil father. An assassination plot. All these ingredients made for a delightfully dangerous and romantic tale that I eagerly devoured.

Sarah M. Eden has created the ideal characters for the untamed Wyoming territory. There are strong, capable women and brave, heroic men, as well as a handful of quirky and lovable settlers. I loved them all, but I especially loved John Hawking (Hawk) and Leisl. Hawk is the perfect definition of a cinnamon roll hero and Leisl like the sweet, satisfying frosting. They are the perfect combo and I couldn't wait to get a front row seat for his story.

Although this is Book 3 in the series, it can definitely stand alone. From the moments of peril to the threatening mystery, and let's not forget the blossoming romance, this is a story for all western historical lovers.

Content: mild violence (murder, shoot-outs, non-graphic western-type violence); mild romance
