This was a really enjoyable and delicious romance. The premise had me intrigued from beginning to end and I enjoyed the chemistry between our two main characters.

Hello

Apologies for the late notice, but I have decided not to review this title.

While I am certain it's obvious by now, I wanted to also clear this off NetGalley, so it's not showing as open for either of us.

I look forward to continuing to work with you in 2023 and beyond.

First I want to thank Author Collective 20 for providing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I read one of the Renegades books previously and when I saw another one available on NetGalley and I had to try and get a copy. Lucky for me they approved me and even though I took a while to read it it was absolutely worth it.

This is a second chance romance of Cameron, former marine/EMT and newest member of the Renegades stunt crew, and Faith, LAPD officer and movie consultant. After Faith is shot on the job she decides to break it off with Cameron. Fast forward 18 months later and they find themselves working on the same movie with a lot of unresolved feelings.

What I Loved:
- Found family, I am OBSESSED with stories centered around found families and this one had two, the Renegades for Cam and fellow officers for Faith
- Second chance, these stories have a special place in my heart because I love when couples are familiar with each other and there isn't a huge "learning curve" to get to the true romance
- Spice, I have yet to be disappointed with the spice levels in this series and this book was no exception
- Strong Female characters, this book has a lot of strong female characters including Faith being a top notch police officer, Z being a badass stunt woman and Jada the lead actress in the movie is a straight up badass
- Boundaries, Faith has some issues with her family and I appreciated that she was able to set boundaries with them once she was able to realize how they were impacting her life

Overall this was a great addition to an already amazing book series. Even if you haven't read the other books in the series you can pick this one up and not feel lost whatsoever. Then if you like it you have like 9 other books to binge!

Anyone out there who likes a contemporary second chance romance with a side of Hollywood, found family and growth I would absolutely recommend reading this book.

4 ½ Stars for this second chance romance!

I loved Fatih and Cam! Faith is this strong woman who really wants her father's approval ... but at what cost? Cam is this hunk who knows what he wants in life ... to be part of a family. I felt so sorry for all the miscommunications that went on between Faith and Cam and I was so rooting for them to have their happily-ever-after. The banter is very realistic and I love Ms Jordan's style of writing ... it makes me feel at home. A great addition to the Renegades series and I can't wait for the next book!

Faith is a cop and Cameron is a paramedic and they've been dating for over a year when Faith gets shot. Before Faith wakes up, Cam learns that she lost the baby ... a baby he didn't even know they were having. When Faith wakes up and finds out that Cam knows her secret, she breaks up with him. Eighteen months later, Faith is still healing from her gunshot wound while Cam got a new job as a stunt man. They are both shocked when they meet on the set of a movie ... Cam doing the stuntwork and Faith a police consultant. And all those hold feelings come rushing back. Will they be able to get past their history? Or will they go their separate ways?

"I think it's for the best." She had to force the words out. Had to detach from the emotions to get through this. "We want different things out of life. It's time for us both to move on."

Cameron Riggs felt like his life ended right then and there. Faith broke his heart. He invested all of his feelings, all of his hopes of a future, with this woman. And she dumped him - after she gets hurt on the job. He gives up his career and moves on - at least to another job. He'll never get over Faith.

Faith ends up right in the path of her ex. Cameron was everything she wanted - also everything she thought she didn't deserve. But here they. Forced to work together. Forced to face their feelings and face a lot of truths.

I adore these characters!

Faith is an L.A.P.D. officer the youngest female and the first female to graduate with the sharpshooter award from the academy. Still, all of that is not good enough for her father a retired officer who always puts her down and never shows up for anything. Then she gets shot one night saving a woman during a robbery and of course, her father is telling her brothers she went and got herself shot. Her boyfriend also a paramedic Cameron shows up at the hospital wanting to hear how she is and when allowed into her room after surgery he gets the news that she has lost the baby. He didn’t even know she was pregnant and she had been trying for weeks how to tell him that she was pregnant. She knew he would have been happy she did not know how she felt.
Now though they were looking at each other and she couldn’t take it so she did the next best thing and broke up with him and told him to leave right then and there. She would later discover that he had also left the fire department as well. She would find him though because even after eighteen months after the shooting and a few more surgeries she was on light duty and now assigned to a movie as a consultant. Lo and behold Cameron was there working as a stuntman and looking better than when they were dating. The emotions, feelings everything that neither worked out came rushing back for both and each had to work through them together and separately/ this was a good story with a lot of emotion at least for me bringing back the times my wife and I had lost her pregnancies, a really good book with really good characters.

Starting the book, I found it a bit boring but later on I was more intrigued. The main characters had a lot of chemistry and I could feel the tension just by reading.
However I feel like the book was not as good as the others in the series renegades (the first one and the second I really liked!). And maybe it's just me, but the ex lovers get back together is not really my cup of tea.
With Cameron and Faith I feel like they were forced to face each other but if they were on their own maybe their paths would never cross again and they'd stayed exes and strangers. However they do make a great fit but as I said, second chance romance is not for me.
I would rate this book 3/5 ⭐️, it could be better, like I said the first two books were amazing.

A cute story, but still dealing with serious and life-alternating issues.

However, I found the female lead quite annoying, and I am really honest... I was hoping this story wouldn't end with a HEA!

Like all other Ms. Jordan-books, I have come across - it was well written, and I would recommend it to all in need of a good romance.

Cam and Faith's story is the 10th in the Renegades series. Reunited 18 months after a tragedy broke them apart, Cam and Faith find the feelings are still there as strong as ever, but their trust has been broken. The story is steamy, emotional as they navigate personal and family issues to try to find their way back to each other. As always, Ms. Jordan's characters are robust and realistic; the Renegades family, of course, are all in attendance and we are treated to some heart-stopping stunt scenes that made me feel like I was right there on the set with them. Excellent read, as always, by this author. I'm looking forward to the next in this series!

3.5 Stars

Faith Sutherland and Cameron Riggs loved each other more than anything... until a gun shot changed it all... and tore their future completely apart...

Eighteen long and lonely months later, they find themselves working together on the Renegades newest movie, and it isn't long before their old feelings come roaring back...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ruin was a heart breaking, sexy, and sweet, second chance romance. Faith and Cameron suffered the ultimate loss which resulted in them going their separate ways, but when they find themselves living and working together, their close proximity is about to work it's magic...
This book was a moving and interesting, second chance romance. Faith was a police officer who after getting injured on the job, pushed away the man she loved. Cameron left his job as a paramedic to lessen his pain of seeing his ex constantly, only for them to be paired together at his latest job, a stuntman with the Renegades.
I really enjoyed watching these two get reacquainted, and the work they did to let go of their past pain. And while Cameron always had a clear view of the life he wanted with Faith, the task she has is to come to the realization of just how much she is valued in the eyes of the man who has always loved her...
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
Learning that the love of his life, Officer Faith Sutherland, has been shot, sends Cameron Riggs rushing to the hospital. Learning that she was twelve weeks pregnant, lost their baby and hadn’t told him about the pregnancy, he is stunned. When she believes that he will never forgive her for remaining on active duty while pregnant, she ends their relationship. Eighteen months later they will meet again on the site of a movie where Cam is working as a stunt man. Faith is shocked to see him and now she will be working with him on the movie as a police consultant. Slowly, as they work closely together, they will recapture the intimacy that they once knew. Is there a chance for them to move on from the past and have a second chance at a future together? She has never had her father’s support and having taken the exams for sergeant and detective she must decide if it is time to walk away from his constant disapproval. A beautiful story, full of strong emotions and healing love. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)
I had read the other Renegade books but it had been awhile. I was so happy to see that Skye Jordan has a few more Renegade books in her. This one was so good as both Cameron and Faith had so much to deal with to get to the HEA. A lot of miscommunication, but with a love that was so strong, they had to work things out. Faith is a police woman and Cam has left his previous job to become a stunt man with the Renegades. Faith shows up on the set of the show that Cameron is in, as a expert to help the character’s portrayal of a police woman be more realistic. Faith had been shot when she and Cameron were together before and was the cause of the breakup. Faith also had a family that didn’t support her, so she had become an island, not letting anyone in until Cam came back into her life. The story was everything hoped it would be. A great read and one i highly recommend.
RUIN
I really enjoyed the story of Faith and Cameron, and particularly how it started out. I've not read many stories of second-chance romance that start before the breakup, or even show the breakup at the beginning, so that was a nice twist for me. I enjoyed seeing their trajectory and the believability of someone meddling rather than a very VERY small chance that luck would be on their side.
I loved knowing that these people were so in love with each other and had thought they were doing what was best for the other person. It felt incredibly honest and just beautiful in a way. I felt badly seeing Faith struggle, but hoped that all would come through in the end. I do think that there were moments where the story lagged a bit, but I understand that some of these things just provide background for the story as a whole. I'm glad that Faith was honestly a good person and showed what some family trauma can do to a person. I did feel a bit weird about the ending, where they were discussing babies and heartbeats and knowing that that's a hot button issue and it's not technically a heartbeat kind of set me back. However, that's not the reason I rated it 4 stars! While the writing was good, I think that, again, the pacing was a bit off for me and sometimes the book just wasn't super delivering on what I would think for a second-chance romance.
Cam is an EMT whose life is turned upside down when his girlfriend is shot in the line of duty and she decides that is a good time to break up with him. That chain of events leads him to become part of the Renegades team. Faith gets shot in the line of duty and decides that she and Cam shouldn't be together any longer even though she loves him with her whole being. Her decision leads her to spend years in loneliness suffering from the consequences of the shooting mostly on her own. When she is assigned to work with a movie studio to help some actors appear to be real cops in a movie, she is thrust back into Cam's life. As her secrets are revealed and Cam learns about her pain, can they find a way to repair all of the damage that was done that fateful day, or is their love beyond repair?
Cam is a really likable character. He is dedicated to his career. He is a good friend and son. He is willing to listen and answer important questions. There were times that my heart absolutely broke for him. I loved seeing him interact with his parents and learn about what his life could be if he moved back home. Faith has tried her whole life to make her family proud of her. Despite all of her achievements, she was still a sad and broken person. Through the events of the story, she is able to heal and grow stronger. It was nice to see her grow and develop good, healthy relationships. Cam and Faith are a very good couple. I can imagine them working out any issues they might encounter in the future. It was very nice to visit with the characters from the prior stories and to meet a few new characters.
My issue with the story was Faith's career as a cop. I can't exactly put my finger on what it was but it didn't feel real like the rest of the book. I kind of felt like, "huh she's a cop and she's in turmoil oh no". I celebrated at the end when she made a decision about her next career step but the rest of it lacked real impact for me.
This is a contemporary romance that takes place mostly in Los Angeles. I don't think you need to read the rest of the series to enjoy this book. I will definitely read more from this author and this series.
Wow, was this ever full of emotion! Right from the beginning, I was ready to grab my tissues. There’s no doubt that Faith and Can have their issues. Miscommunication is #1! Ruin certainly takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions though, not without heat and drama (and some girl boss scenes). 5 stars!!
I received a copy of eARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
Overall the it was ok read.
My main problem with the book was that the story was written in the third person POV. When the accent of the book is on the romance part, third-person writing does not work for me. This is my preference, it might work well for someone else, but this was the main obstacle for me to get into the story.
With that said, the writing was fine.In some parts, there was a bit of info dump that was getting harder to go through and in my opinion didn't bring much to the story.
Faith's character is described as a black and white character which is opposite to Cam who looks at a problem in a gray spectrum. This is the best way to describe their relationship, why it fell apart at first, and the obstacle they have to pass so they could get their second chance. The sexual chemistry between them is strong but it felt that their connection is mostly physical. It was all about how better-looking they are than they were before (they looked great before, but still, they are more handsome now), not how did they grow as a person...
Did I love it? Not really... Did I enjoy it? Yes.
I enjoy this book so much. I hated her family so much and happy she had a great friendship with her work family. Sometimes friends are more family than your family are. Cam make sure that she was happy with him or without him. Love this book so much
