Friends to lover isn’t my jam BUT I ended up loving this one! I do wish there was a more intense reason that they couldn’t move from friends to lovers but the tension ended up being there and it was so romantic! 4.75 stars

Lovelight Farms by B.K. Boris has everything I love and romance novel.

⭐️Fake dating
⭐️Friends to lovers
⭐️Not really a miscommunication (it’s a Christmas miracle!)
⭐️Loved the small town holiday vibes

Four stars for me. There were some slow moving parts and Stella and Luka’s pre fake-dating relationship was already a lot (who were they fooling?)

The narrator did a fantastic job, and I loved the cadence of her voice. It worked perfectly with the story, and I could not stop listening. Well done, Pippa Jayne.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this copy in exchange for an honest review.

Well this was really really good. I didn't expect to like this so much but this is by far my favorite holiday romantic set on a Christmas tree farm of which there have been multiple this year 😂

The friends to lovers is exceptional, the secondary characters are interesting and dynamic and it makes you want to be there in the scene.

I'm not going to lie I'm a little bit mad that I liked it so much because this was recommended from some fellow queer neurodivergent folks on bookstagram and I got through this whole thing and realized that both main characters are white cishet neurotypical able-bodied conventionally attractive people. So yes, I genuinely enjoyed this book. Would it have been better in my opinion had the characters been a little less cookie cutter perfect? Also yes. It's literally the one thing keeping me from rating it five stars as a favorite because how is there not a single queer character in this book?

Also there's two Harry Potter references and that is a definite downgrade for me. It is 2022 (basically 2023), get with the freaking program or get out.

I loved this friends to lovers story. The Christmas tree farm setting melted my heart and got me right in the mood for the holidays. I loved Stella and Luca's story, and I loved seeing so many wonderful secondary characters that enhanced the story in just the right way. I already am starting book two in this series because I can't get enough of Borison's storytelling. My heart is happy.

This was such a sweet and gentle Christmas book. I loved that it incorporated not only the Christmas holiday, but starts in fall so it is a perfect transitional book in to all the holidays. Luca and Stella has an amazing friendship that makes it easy to see how they both fall into love, even before "dating" due to a social media personality coming to her troublesome Christmas tree farm. I can not wait to pick up the other two books from this author. I found a new author to love and autobuy!

I had heard so much about this book, I'd been hesitant to start it and not have it live up to the hype. Holy shit was this worth the wait. I saw this book for the first time just after Christmas last year and figured I'd just wait till next year, make sure the mood and vibe is exactly right; I'm glad I waited because everything about this book was absolute perfection.
STELLA MY ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL ANGEL I love this girl with all my heart. She was written to absolute perfection. I don't usually prefer single POV romances anymore but I absolutely loved reading how she was seeing and interpreting things with Luka, even when it was a little in denial-world sometimes.
Luka, what an absolute gem of a man. and that final epilogue??? So glad we got that little glimpse of him.

BK Borison is now an auto-buy author for me. I knew this exactly 5% in and I only feel more strongly about it now that I've finished the book.

I saw so many good reviews of this book that I knew I had to see what all the hype was about. Unfortunately this book wasn't for me. I found the story to be repetitious and the characters to be annoying.

“It’s hard to love someone without restraint. To give yourself over to the swell and pull of it without fear of what might happen. I think it’s only natural to hold a part of yourself back and protect what you can”.⁣

I’ll be honest.. I didn’t want to like this book. Surely this book can’t be as good as all the gushing reviews, right? Hi, spoiler alert: it is that good. It’s cute and sweet, but not saccharine. It’s not corny, but has the perfect touch of Christmas magic that I long for. ⁣

The audio was decent. At first, Pippa Jayne’s voice didn’t really grab my attention. But, I came to realize that Stella was more of a laidback and positive type, so the voice matched perfectly. Once I got to understand Stella’s character, it made sense. If you’re into audio, give this one a chance. ⁣

Overall, I loved this book. The great misunderstanding was very quick and thankfully resolved literally within an hour in the story. There are some parts of the story. I wish we could have delved into more, but overall, Lovelight Farms is 100% #MellieClaus approved. Thanks @dreamscape_media for the gifted audiobook copy!⁣

QOTD: I’ve been battling a fun bought of (what I believe) is food poisoning. When you’re sick, what’s your comfort food?

So I have been reading this series out of order which is okay but I started with book 2 and wouldn’t recommend it because I feel like it is important to have the background of these characters.

I am not usually a friends to lovers fan but I adored this one! I just think it was done so well and I LOVED all the side characters in this small town.

Luca was adorable with his nickname for Stella. I think that might have been my favorite part of it all. I mean how cute that he calls he LaLa 🥰.

This is the perfect read for the winter!

Spice: 🌶🌶/5 (one full descriptive sex scene and a couple makeouts)

Read this if you like:
🌲 Friends to lovers
🌲 Small town romance
🌲 Baked goods and Italian food (yum 😋)

LOVED it! Perfect little Christmas story with lovable characters and perfectly structured story and romance! Awesome narrator who adds a lot of life to the characters!

I was given the audiobook of Lovelight Farms, and I honestly hated it. Something about the narrator's voice and style of acting completely threw me off. I listen to a lot of audiobooks, and this was one of the most grating experiences for me. I ended up only getting through about 20% of the book because I was not having a good time, but I had been told the book itself was amazing, which made me even more sad about the poor audiobook.

I ended up reading the book digitally and absolutely LOVED it. The writing was amazing, and the characters jumped off the page. The setting of the Christmas Tree Farm was so fun and festive, perfect for the Christmas season without being overly Hallmark-y or cheesy.

While I wouldn't recommend this audiobook, I would definitely say that the book is worth a read. I went 5 stars for the book itself, 2 stars for the audiobook, giving a total of 4 stars.

I mean really. I have no complaints. This book couldn’t be more perfect!

This was the ultimate friends to lovers holiday read! I love the friendship between Luca and Stella but when they are pretending to date their relationship was electric. Their chemistry was palpable!

I absolutely loved Luca’s family! As an Italian woman I can easily say this is how it is at family gatherings! So much love, food, and messing with someone in the family just for the fun of it!

I’m not usually a fan of act 3 break ups because they are usually predictable but I actually loved this one. I think it needed to happen to get Stella out of her comfort zone and her own head. Everyone but Stella could see that her being with Luca gave her the family she always wanted and gave her security she sought after. The thought of going back to the life she had before pretending to be with Luca but had no idea how hard it would be. She was was ready to stay in her comfort zone but sometimes the risk is well worth the reward. A life with her best friend and love of her life seems like a great reward to me!

Easily in my top 5 reads of the year!

Fun Holiday romance that follows Stella, the owner of Lovelight Farms as she runs her Christmas Tree Farm in the small town of Inglewild. When the farm ends up in some financial trouble, Stella enters a contest to attempt to win some money and publicity from social media influencer Evelyn St. James. The only issue being Stella said she runs the farm with her boyfriend, guess what Stella doesn't have? That's right, a boyfriend. Enter Stella's best friend Luka who agrees to pretend to be her boyfriend while Evelyn is in town. How far will they go to convince everyone they are a couple or is there really more there?

I've really enjoyed following along with the Inglewild community and getting to "know" all the characters. Even better is you can get to know them more in the other books in the series! This book makes you want to head down to the Lovelight Farms to get your tree, eat some of Layla's baked goods and cuddle some adorable kittens.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this ARC!

This Christmas romance was so sweet and steamy. Stella is a sweet hardworking character. Luca is her loyal fun loving best friend. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. The side characters made this story good too. They were great additions. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the audio arc in exchange for my honest review.

OBSESSED WITH THIS BOOK - and that’s putting it lightly. I was having serious FOMO over this one and I’m SO glad I gave in to the fomo.

I’m going to need you all to add this to your TBRs and read it ASAP so we can gush about it together, ok?

Yes -there’s a Christmas tree on the cover, yes - the main character owns a Christmas tree farm but do not- I repeat - DO NOT WAIT until next Christmas to read this book.

It is the perfect cozy winter romance. And by cozy, I mean absolutely sizzling and spicy. This one will warm you right up on those cold winter days. 🔥

Ok - so if you know me you know my love of friends to lovers romances - Stella and Luka have that perfect best friend relationship - cute banter, cozy cuddling, in love with each other and everyone else sees it except them. Gimme allll of these types of stories. @bk absolutely nails this trope.

Can we also talk about this Stars Hollow type of small town - the people, the stores, the gossip. Love love love it all.

Wait I’m still not done 😂 - the setting is perfection - Pumpkin Patch/Christmas tree farm with all the cozy fall then winter vibes. Lastly, there’s a cast of characters you instantly love and want more of (the second I met Beckett I was hoping he gets his own book - HE DOES!!!)

I already miss these characters.

5 HUGE ⭐️ and an instant new auto buy author! Congrats on your amazing debut!

LOVELIGHT FARMS review

⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

🎄Happy December 1st! It’s fiiiiiiinally my favorite month of the year. 🤩 Kicking off this month with my first holiday read of the season! This book has been allll over bookstagram. Unfortunately this one just wasn’t my favorite. The premise was super cute (two friends who slowly fall for each other while working together at a Christmas tree farm) but the execution just didn’t hit the mark for me.

🎄Here’s a summary of the plot:👇
Stella is the owner of the local Christmas tree farm, Lovelight Farms. She’s facing major financial issues and decides to enter a social media contest to win the prize money. When filling out the application, Stella tells a white lie that she runs the farm with her boyfriend Luka. Luka and Stella have been friends for 10 years, but never romantically involved. Can they tolerate pretending to date each other if it means winning the contest that could save Lovelight Farms?

🎄Luka was the best! He was upfront about his feelings, and did a great job communicating those feelings to Stella. But ohhhh Stella. This is what made the story fall apart for me. Stella was so awful about communicating with Luka and then accusing him of lying about his feelings when he told her how he felt that she came off very childish imo. At first I thought she was just clueless to how Luka felt (even though he made it extremely obvious) but then he would tell her face to face how he felt and she continued to deny it. I did love the setting of this one though! A small town during Christmas time is very Hallmark movie vibes and I loved it! Overall, this wasn’t my favorite Christmas romance but I know lots of other people love it so I’d still give it a chance if you’re on the fence!

Just a quick review and I will update it later.
I listened to this in late September/early October and it is the cutest friends/fake dating romance. Usually, it is Enemies who do fake dating so this was a nice change.
I am currently listening to this again to discuss with Book Club (hence the update on this later comment).
Current thoughts - I like the narrator. I feel she does well expressing emotions and switching between characters.
