Obsessed with this series! I am so excited that this got an audiobook. Stella and Luca are too cute. And the narrator does an AMAZING job as Stella. Inglewild is amazing and I can't wait to continue the series. Fake dating combined with friends to lovers are two of my least favorite tropes but this book freaking rocks both. Too too sweet

Stella and Luka. This was a great read. My third audiobook I listened while following along to the ebook, because I did not want to miss anything.
Stella and Luka’s relationship is very special they began as friends and feel for each other. Luka showed his love for Stella in small gestures.
Add in all the quirky small town characters this is one of my favorite books this year. Who doesn’t love a phone tree.

This new cover is everything!!! Narrator was great. This got me in the Christmas spirit. I thought the plot was fun and I got a hoot out of the characters!

This story is so sweet and got me right into the holiday spirit. It makes me want to go home and start decorating for Christmas. I this audiobook is perfect. I love the narrator and it make me feel immediately sucked into the story. The characters are so lovable and I didn’t want it to end.

I love the cover, it grabbed my attention right away. The premise and setting of this book had such great appeal. Unfortunately, it all just fell flat for me. I didn't particularly care for Stella, the main character and I was often confused as to who her actual love interest was supposed to be. It was all a little messy for me.

This has been a big year for the Lovelight Farms series. Both In the Weeds and Mixed Signals made their debuts, and the first two are also about to get their audiobook release!

🌲 What’s it about?

Stella bought a small-town Christmas tree farm with visions of transforming it into something Hallmark worthy. But she’s bleeding money and trees are dying. Her solution? Applying to a social media influencer’s contest with a fantastic financial prize package. The only catch? The influencer likes romance. So Stella fibs and says she owns the farm with her boyfriend. And she has to get her best friend, Luka, to play the part. He readily agrees, and the tension that’s been building between the two for the last decade is put in the hot seat.

🌲 My thoughts?
I already adored this book before I listened to the audio, but requested it because I wanted to here the audio take and return to one of my favorite series before jumping into Mixed Signals.

🌲 I feel protective of this story because I love it so, but I shouldn’t have worried. Pippa Jayne is an amazing narrator and does an fantastic job at conveying emotion. I love her gruff take on the male voices, especially Luka’s.

I know it’s not Christmas yet, but I don’t care. I will read any book in this series at any time and thank BK Borison for the pleasure of it.

Do yourself a favor and add this to your holiday listening plans!

We have ourselves a fake dating / best friends to lovers romance. It's such a classic trope set in a small town Christmas tree farm. Whats not to enjoy? Stella is a Christmas tree farm owner who is a bit overwhelmed with finances. In hopes to turn things around, she enters her farm into an influencers contest in hopes to win a $100,000 grand prize. The only problem? She told Evelyn she started her farm with her (very nonexistent) boyfriend. Enter Luka, Stella's best friend. He comes home from NYC and enthusiastically accepts the position of fake boyfriend. The town goes wild over the news of their relationship and the prospect of being seen on social media. Nothing can go wrong right? Except as they start this journey maybe he doesn't want it to be so fake. by the end of the 1 week proposal, he hopes maybe their relationship can gain real legs. But does Stella feel the same way? Will she risk losing her best friend to pursue this relationship?

While I enjoyed the book, overall it felt a bit too hallmark-y, and predictable. I loved that Stella's co-workers were so enthusiastic about her issues and came to help in her time of need, but overall this whole story was just a miscommunication which is one of my least favorite tropes. I still plan to go to the next book in the series because the covers are just so cute and I'm hoping maybe we get better and better with each book!

Overall I'd give this 3.5 stars. Thanks to the publisher for the ALC in return for an honest review. This book releases 9/20

Audiobook Review:
This one was definitely a well timed listen! I’ve had a lot of stress lately and this one definitely was cozy, warm, romantic, and sweet, which was exactly what I needed.

Stella gets herself and Luka into the fake dating situation when she enters a contest to hopefully make her Christmas tree farm some extra money as it is struggling as she inherited some debts with it and has been having some problems since taking over the farm that have costed her quite a bit of money. To make her application more swoon worthy and to increase her chance of winning she lies that she runs it with her boyfriend which forces a fake dating situation to come to fruition when she is notified she will be a contender for the grand prize.

I loved the combination of long time best friends and the fake dating. It was done so well as these two goons had clearly been in love with each other for a long time and the fake dating was exactly what they needed to see what everyone else has been seeing for years in their small town.

Thank you Dreamscape Media for the ARC of this audiobook in advance of its release! I am so thankful to listen in exchange for my honest feedback

Well, this first book in the Lovelight Farms series was even sweeter than the In the Weeds!

It's such a perfect holiday read. It's like a cup of hot cocoa in book form.

🎧 The audio was fantastic. I listened at 1.5x speed.

This book also got a new cover recently, and isn't it perfect? The entire series has some of my favorite covers ever.

This one is full of all the feels! It is a friends to lovers and/or fake date romance. When Stella enters a contest for the Tree Farm with an influencer and one of the boxes checked was that she owned it with her real boyfriend Luke she then had to convince Luke to portray her boyfriend. He has no problem with that, after all he has been literally wooing her forever in his own way by bringing her tree air fresheners whenever he pops in and or leaves. She has kept each one and has boxes of them. This one could have been cavity-inducing cute if it wasn't done right but this author did it perfect. I'm glad to see this is the first in the series and cannot wait to see where this one goes. So much more happens than what I described so do yourself a favor and grab this one, Christmas or anytime of the year!

This was like a mug of hot chocolate on a chilly winter evening. It was a fresh take on the friends to lovers/fake dating trope and I loved the ensemble of characters!

“A pasture of dead trees. A hostile takeover of the Santa barn by a family of raccoons. And shipments that have mysteriously gone missing. Lovelight Farms is not the magical winter wonderland of Stella Bloom’s dreams.”

I LOVE a good Friends to Lovers trope. And this couple have been friends FOREVER.

While this book is the first in the series, I actually read it second. That’s gotta say something, right? That I liked #2 enough to seek out the original?

I enjoyed this one, as well. I liked the Christmas Tree Farm setting. I like that both of them have loved each other for ages. I love that the whole community comes together to help. I love the hints of book #2.

I didn’t love the vandalism subplot. Or that Stella’s dad didn’t get his glorious comeuppance. Or that miscommunication is at the heart of Every. Romance. Story. Ever. But really, this was a sweet start to a sweet series.

6.5/10

Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this ARC.

When Stella enters a social media contest to save her tree farm, she wrangles her best friend Luka to be her fake boyfriend. It’s full of tension, and humor and heart. Friends to lovers, fake dating and Christmas - like I don’t think there could be a more perfect description of a book for me! And a lovely one to add to your Christmas booklist!

Stella and Luka’s whole friends-to-lovers situation was so cute and pure. They were supportive and gentle with each other, which pulled at my heart strings. And the narrator! Pippa Jayne has a soft, husky voice, perfect for a spicy romcom.

I also loved Stella’s colleagues, who were really like found family, and made me feel connected to the larger cast of characters. I can’t wait for In the Weeds, Evelyn and Beckett’s love story. I mean, who doesn’t like a kitten daddy main character?

That being said, the constant miscommunication from the main character made me feel frustrated the entire novel and took me out of the story. And I didn’t feel like I got enough of Luka’s personality to be as invested as I would’ve liked to have been in their romance. All in all this was a sweet book, but didn’t really blow me away.

Read this if you like:
• friends-to-lovers
• faking dating
• small-town romance
• workplace setting

Just a heads up this one is mostly set during November, so this is better suited for a Fall read rather than a Winter one for those seasonal readers/planned tbr-ers.

I loved Lovelight Farms the first time I read it in paperback and was excited to be chosen to listen to the audiobook. I still love the story! The perfect mix of Hallmark Christmas movie vibes mixed with fake dating again left me wanting more (a now we know there are two more books!).

My only feedback is that if you try and listen to the audiobook at more than 1.25x, it starts to sound funny. I prefer to listen to books anywhere between 1.50x-2x and it wasn't really possible with this one. Hopefully that can be fixed!

This is a great read for anyone looking for a cozy wintery romcom that can be read anytime of year!

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC. I can't wait to listen to In the Weeds next!

I didn’t think it was possible to love Lovelight Farms more than when I first read it a few months ago. And then they recorded the audiobook. Holy swoon. Pippa Jayne was phenomenal as Stella, bringing to life all the excitement, stress, and emotion that she deals with in the social media contest to bring Lovelight Farms and Inglewild more notoriety and (most importantly) money. I love when audiobook recordings add a third dimension to stories, and the audio of Lovelight Farms was just as magical to listen to as it was to read the text.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced listener copy in exchange for an honest review.

I finally read it!! This was so cute. I really enjoyed the entire story and the town setting and now I'm eager for cooler weather and the holidays. Luka is a dream, and the entire friend group was incredible and had me wanting to move to this community. I also got VERY hungry while reading this. So sweet, so charming, so loveable. An all-around feel-good book that leaves your heart feeling all warm!

Stella Bloom has taken over the Christmas Tree farm she went to as a kid with the hopes of making it magical for everyone. But bad thing after bad thing keeps happening and Stella is getting desperate. So, she enters a contest with the hopes of winning $100,000. All she has to do is get famous influencer Evelyn St. James to pick her tree farm. To add to the charm of Lovelight Farms, Stella lied on the application and said she owns it with her boyfriend... Now, Evelyn is on her way to town and Stella doesn't have a boyfriend. Thankfully, her best friend Luka is back in town and would make the perfect fake boyfriend. All they have to do is fake it good enough to convince Evelyn, win the money, and save the farm... and totally not fall in love.

Tropes: fake dating, friends to lovers, small town

I grabbed this one because a lot of people loved it! Stella and Luka have been friends for ten years, best friends in fact. So when Stella needs a fake boyfriend, the only person on her mind is Luka. Stella has had some crazy things happen on her Christmas tree farm and she is in dire need of a revenue boost or she will very well lose her farm she worked so hard for.
She is hiding this tidbit of information from her workers and from Luka, she thinks when she gets the lifestyle blogger to come to the farm, it will boost her traffic and no one will have to know.
I love a good fake dating book, and if you love friends to lovers, this will be your jam. There were a lot of things about this book that I adored, but ten years of being in love with your best friend is just a bit too long for me. I understand not wanting to jeopardize your friendship but at some point it just becomes too much. I liked that the past relationships weren't talked about much or seen on page, but someting there niggled at me until I was unsettled. I think that if you love a good friends to lovers book, this one will hit the mark for you. It just missed it for me and I can't pinpoint exactly why.
I listened to the audio copy and I have a feeling that this might be the reason. I don't think the narrator was properly cast for this book. I felt very detached while listening and had to take breaks and come back to it.
Thank you to Netgalley and BK Borison for an early audio copy.

Amazing. The audio was just as good as reading the book for the first time. I can't recommend this enough.

Lovelight Farm is a the debut novel by author B. K. Borison. Lovelight Farms is a dream come true for Stella Bloom until money problems, random happenings, and midnight prowlers make it a nightmare. Perhaps entering a small business contest led by media influencer Evelyn St. James may just be the answer to these problems. Only problem now is that Stella said she owned the Christmas tree farm with her boyfriend, and there is no boyfriend.

However, there is a best friend she would love to have as her boyfriend. Luka Peters has been her best friend for almost 10 years. They literally met by accident as Stella stumbled down the steps from the hardware store right into his arms. The meal they shared afterwards and the years of closeness since have entered into Stella’s dreams. But asking Luka to play her “fake” boyfriend when her farm is chosen as a finalist for the $100,000 prize she is desperate to get him onboard. When he readily agrees, Stella is amazed, when Luka wants a trial relationship she is awed, when things go awry she is consigned to once more being left behind.

This is the most delightful story, and series! I want to live in this small town with such eccentric and dynamic characters. I very much enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it!
