What a delightful storybook! Told in easy-read chapter format, suitable for elementary readers or as a chapter-a-night bedtime-story selection, LAKER'S WORLD is a third-person narrative from the viewpoint of a young Bigfoot. (Yes, you read that right.) Laker and his Mamma and Pappa live in a forest, sleep all day, swim in the lake and forage for food at night. Yet little Laker longs for friends with whom to play. So this clever young Bigfoot learns to utilize his senses (and his intuition) to make friends, while he also learns boundaries (some animals and people are frightened of him, while some as animals, such as an angry Mamma Bear, could be dangerous to Laker).

I took a vacation this summer in an area renowned for Bigfoot sightings. I'm not a believer, but being in those dark and dense woods made me think it might be possible... might.

This is such a charming little book. The illustrations add extra sparkle to the story of Laker, a young Bigfoot, as he explores the natural world around him. Children (and adults) who have a curiosity about the outdoors would love this.

I thought that this was a lovely book and it was on that I enjoyed reading with my daughter

The book was really easy to read and it was well written and the characters were great - I loved the view of the story being from Laker and how he felt when the other animals hid and ran away from him.

I wasn't a huge fan of the illustrations but they did work with the book quite well

It is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended

Laker is a cute, little Sasquatch aka Bigfoot growing up in the woods. We loved his stories and how inquisitive he was, just like a child. We especially loved his interaction with the animals in his woods and the little boy near his home. The science information at the end was great, too. We’d love more books in this series.

Great book!!!!
The book has enough Illustrations and texts, not too much so it has a perfect balance for the text and the Illustrations. The story itself is so engaging.

I loved this book.so much!!! Its nice to read about a little Bigfoot finally!! I loved that he was so curious about things. This book is so cute when he is learning on his own. He sees a difference in animals and humans. Still he gets scared until he saw a little boy. The boy gave him something and little bigfoot cherished the thing. I will let you all.read the book. I do not really want to give away what happened. So trust me when I aay.its a great book and needs to get read.

I received a free book and is voluntarily writing a review.

Cute little story of a favorite little cryptid. Perfect read aloud for middle-elementary age kiddos who love the outdoors. The little science information paragraphs at the end are great discussion points too. Love the addition

The story was interesting, I enjoyed that it showed Bigfoot being curious about the world around him and not that he was some big strange creature. My son has been very intrigued by Bigfoot for quite some time so I thought this was an age appropriate educational read.

This is such a lovely book to share and discuss with children. Laker is a young bigfoot and he's discovering the world around him, in the most adorable way. He learns to sit quietly and watch the smaller creatures in the forest, he learns about the sun and the moon. He learns to make new playmates and to share with them. There's a section at the back that explains what the technical words are for some of the situations encountered in the story. The concepts explored are easy for children to grasp and relate to. The book doesn't condescend in any way, it's just a fun and engaging story about recognising the differences between different species and different environments. I really look forward to reading this with as many young children as possible.
