Go Marilyn! Yeah, don't we all need an unconditional cheerleader to get through the rough patches?
It took me a bit to warm to both Ellie (so caught up in her own drama, that she feels more sorry for herself than for the one in the ambulance) and Warren (being grumpy)., but further down the story it was okay. With Marilyn who actually made me laugh out loud several times.
Thinking a second in a series would be every so nice!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.

This book was nuts—from start to finish—and I loved it!

Ellie Reed's self-esteem can't take any more of her family's constant criticism and attempts to control her life. But when she rents an Airbnb on a gorgeous farm in Montana, she encounters a whole new set of family drama and finds herself the caretaker of a barn full of farm animals, caught between two handsome men competing for control of the farm, and the sudden best friend of a spunky elderly widow whose outrageous ideas just might change her destiny...

This book is for you, if you...
⇝ like “city-girl finding her way around country-life”—stories
⇝ want a book that focuses on one type of drama, and doesn't feel all over the place because it wants to tackle too much
⇝ fancy a story about a character dealing with how to organize her life and finding love along the way
⇝ want something with witty banter
⇝ have a bit of a tolerance for frustration (family meddling and not taking a hint)
⇝ love secondary characters that feel three-dimensional and make you constantly laugh out loud (Marilyn, I'm looking at you)

Ellie books herself a three-week vacation in a tiny home on a farm in Montana and gets more than she bargains for when her 82-year-old host is injured and she finds herself taking care of the animals (and maybe falling in love with the host’s grandson).
The premise sounded cute and I was expecting a zippy love triangle but instead this was more of a Hallmark-esque family drama. This was too saccharine and wholesome for me but readers looking for that kind of story will likely enjoy.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy.

I loved this! I have been dying to go to Montana, and this book makes me want to book a trip asap! I loved this from start to end. The cover was so fun and I can't wait to buy this and put it on my bookshelf!

“Said No One Ever” is a contemporary romance by Stephanie Eding. I have to admit, I wanted a bit of an escapism read - and for me, this book was a perfect escape. Ellie has a pretty crazy (read stressful) few months and pretty much on a whim decides to go to Montana for holiday. Upon arriving in Montana, things become a bit differently crazy on her Montana holiday. I found Marilyn, Ellie’s AirBnB host, to be a hoot - I think we all need a Marilyn in our lives for amusement and wisdom. At times I felt that Ellie’s family was way too involved in Ellie’s life (she’s 30, not 20) and the thought of becoming a nanny would have me craving doing anything but. I did find Ellie a bit too “poor me” at times, but the fact that she decided to not wallow too much and had spunk I found endearing. Let me just say that this was a fast fun escapist read - just what I needed on some cold rainy days.
