“Said No One Ever” is a contemporary romance by Stephanie Eding. I have to admit, I wanted a bit of an escapism read - and for me, this book was a perfect escape. Ellie has a pretty crazy (read stressful) few months and pretty much on a whim decides to go to Montana for holiday. Upon arriving in Montana, things become a bit differently crazy on her Montana holiday. I found Marilyn, Ellie’s AirBnB host, to be a hoot - I think we all need a Marilyn in our lives for amusement and wisdom. At times I felt that Ellie’s family was way too involved in Ellie’s life (she’s 30, not 20) and the thought of becoming a nanny would have me craving doing anything but. I did find Ellie a bit too “poor me” at times, but the fact that she decided to not wallow too much and had spunk I found endearing. Let me just say that this was a fast fun escapist read - just what I needed on some cold rainy days.
