I was only able to read some of this before it got archived but what I did read was really good and informative.
A great book that explains and talks about Kings work and also talks about his life included some anecdotes.
Only marked as 3* due to not being able to give it a good look through

Great account of Stephen King's life. I learned a lot about what inspired my favourite books of his, It and Carrie. This book will show you a lot about his life as well as his writing process and rise to horror-writing fame. Author Bev Vincent has a very authentic writing style and I was hooked. There are plenty of photos of Stephen King as well as first-edition novel covers, which really added to my experience of this book.

Gore! Gore! Gore! Yay! This book was so fun!!! Consider this your trigger warning, this book isn’t for the faint of heart!
Two police officers who have become known for their adeptness with cases that are bizarre or supernatural in nature are called in to investigate a particularly brutal triple homicide that appear to have been cooked and consumed. They assume that it’s the work of a cult or a serial killer. Couldn’t be more than that. Could it?
This book was deliciously gory. It was an absolute bloodbath.
The descriptions of the crime scenes were visceral and detailed. This book is apparently the third in a series but it works well as a standalone novel. As I’ve said, I thought the gore was great and the writing is perfect. I’m not normally a fan of police procedurals, but this one combined cannibals and procedure beautifully. Much like the film, “The Silence of the Lambs”. Hannibal Lector would be proud!
As proud as Lector would be, it seems like he would have chosen to stick with either procedure or supernatural. Normally, I love a supernatural tale, but in this case, I would have preferred this book to stick with explainable things. The supernatural stuff wasn’t as fun as I would have normally thought. It just didn’t seem necessary. Who knew?
All in all, this book was a lot of fun and I will be checking out the previous three installments.

I live Stephen King. One could possibly say OBSESSED. I will read anything that involves him. With that said, this book is a great addition to anyone’s collection about him. While I didn’t learn anything I didn’t know already (like I said-obsessed haha) I enjoyed reading it.

An interesting book for new fans of Stephen King and fans of books about authors. Not enough new information for die-hard fans but still worth the read. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC.

Fascinating and interesting…..Take an intimate tour through the life and works of Stephen King, made vivid with rare photos and ephemera from King’s personal collection.

This book is both a bibliophile and cinephile heaven! I loved how the book is structured and the behind the scenes view of some of Stephen King's greatest works.

Loved the research and how the detailed the book is, and the photos just add to it. I cannot emphasise enough on how amazing the photos were. Read it for the insights, tidbits and illustration! Highly recommended!

Thank you Quarto publishing and NetGalley for this eArc in exchange of my honest review.

Wow there was so much I didn’t know I didn’t know. This book goes into so much detail on the life of one of the most prolific horror writers of our generation. And he’s really not that creepy once you get to know about him. His mind is wild though.

I was so happy that #netgalley approved my request for this book as I’m a huge King fan, so thank you.

This is the kind of book I’d love a physical copy of. It’s be nice to flick through it anytime. It’s an excellent resource and an in-depth recount of King’s writing career. I devoured the bits I read. It’s not the kind of book I’d read cover to cover.

The photographs are the perfect accompaniment to telling King’s story. They are informative as much as they are pleasing. I found this book to be both.

I’d really love a copy (as I said) to read and reread and add to my (not as big as it was) collection, it’s a must have for any King fan.

So, if you are Fan of the master story teller then you should defo grab a copy of this book. I highly recommend it.

Who doesn’t love Stephen King? And this is the closest to a biographical tale about him that I have found.

This book is unlike a regular biography and would look amazing as an actual book. It comprises stories and anecdotes from various points in his life alongside images of him from the time.

A real insight into King’s life. One for his fans to read and enjoy.

The Stephen King Ultimate Companion explores, Stephen Kings nearly 50 year career. As a constant reader of his I was beyond thrilled to be able to see and read this companion. It beautifully explores his works both written and on screen.
There are photographs incorporated in the book that add to the "magic" of King's work. The book is well researched and flows together. I learned quite a few things about King and although I have been a fan since I was a 12/13, I found out something new information about King including his inspiration behind some of his novels.

After reading this, I have a newfound interest in books I have long forgotten about or haven't read. I know I will be revisiting old friends (some much scarier than others) and making new friends in older books I haven't read.

This is a to go book from King's fans and something you will want to add to your collection.

Bev Vincent gives us an excellent insight into the many novels by Stephen King and throws in a great number of previously unknown (to me anyway) anecdotes about one of the most famous authors on the planet.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this novel for an honest review. It has been published in September 2022.

"Stephen King: A Complete Exploration of His Work, Life, and Influences" by Bev Vincent made for a very entertaining read.
I already knew some of the anecdotes recounted in the book, but many more came as a surprise, giving me wonderful insight into the life and the mind of one of my favourite authors.
The only thing that partially spoiled my pleasure in reading this book was the font used: I don't know what it's called, but it's awfully hard to make out! It's tall and narrow, with all the letters cramming together, and just to make matters worse, some parts of the book are printed in white on a black background, rather than the other way around. For some reason, the "change font" feature on my ebook reader was deactivated while reading this particular book (it never happened before or since) and sometimes it got so bad I even considered not finishing this.
In the end I did finish it, but I'd have definitely enjoyed it more if I hadn't had to struggle so much just to make out the words.

Now I'll openly admit, I've not read all of King's back catalogue, or probably even a significant chunk, but what I have read I have throughly enjoyed and even if the adaptations haven't always been the best onto the screen, I have enjoyed the inspiration and story behind the images.

This book gives quite a deep look into Kings work and how this linked to different points in his life. I will say, don't read if you aren't familiar with at least the big stories - and want to avoid spoilers - as there are major plot points for most of the big events along the way.

I throughly enjoyed reading this book and learning the inspiration behind not just the big books, but the smaller ones and not so well known events and stories. It was fun to hear about his publishing journey and how that has changed and developed over time as well.

Definitely an informative read and has made me want to go back and read/reread more of Kings work.

Thank you to NetGalley for the eArc and I must say, I would also be inclined to pick up a physical copy at somepoint too as I think the images etc that are included, that add to the story, would be much better appreciated in their physical format

This was an interesting volume about the King of horror. I loved all the photos and insights into some of his greatest and lesser known works,

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I thought I knew just about everything about Stephen King. Bev Vincent's book takes a dive much deeper than I was expecting. It explores his writing and what some of his motivations were writing some of the best books I've ever read. All Stephen King fans should take the time to get to know this more intimate portrayal of Stephen King's creative genius.
