I read the first few chapters of this book but am unable to continue. I felt uncomfortable reading some of the scenes in which all of the African characters are portrayed as evil, and we're reminded again and again that a young white girl isn't safe among them. In at least one instance, Tanzanian names or culture are referred to as "exotic."

Because of those feelings and experiences as a reader, I'm choosing not to post a review of this book. Thank you for understanding.

An enjoyable book that tackles difficulties that affect both children and adults but tackles them in a way that both children and adults can deal with. An unusual yet beautiful piece of work with superb and an eye catching front cover, that's what did the most advertising to me second to the blurb!

With thanks to netgalley for the free ARC in return for a review!

I'm not sure who enjoyed this more, me or the grandchildren. We FaceTimed this over a few nights and it took me a while till I realised that my children were actually in the background listening too. Apparently someone had told them great things about this series. We have not ,yet, read the other books, but we will. This book gave us all a lovely warm glow.

I picked this book up because i was drawn to the cover art. It was very eye catching.

What this story offers is a way to accept loss and how diffrent people react to loss.

It's a beautifully descriptive tale and once I got into it I had to know how it would end.

This delightfully whimsical book that tackles deep topics in a way that meets the needs of children AND adults. I haven't read anything like it before. In it, we meet Elivia and her overprotective parents. Convinced she’s not really their daughter, she sets off to find her true family on an African Safari her parents won. There, she sneaks off for the adventure she so longs for and ends up in Urth in another world completely, ready to complete a mission to quite possibly set her life on a new course. This is a book written for middle grade readers, but honestly, I think every adult needs to read this book to soak up the life and parenting lessons inside. It gave me the warm ginger cookie feeling. Read the book. You’ll know what I mean.

this was a beautifully done children's novel, it had what I enjoyed from the previous two books in the Tales by Moons-ligh series. It has a charm about them and I always have a good time going through this book. Ruthy Ballard has a great way of writing and it works for all ages.

"“There’s a mystery aboard this submarine,” she thought, as she continued to ponder Immi’s cryptic message. The idea thrilled her, and she couldn’t wait to explore the rest of the boat, to learn more."
