A large cat lover, if there are leopard shifters in the book, I want to read it. If Ms. Feehan writes it, then I definitely want to read it. Leopard's Scar is one of the stories I thoroughly enjoyed in this world of shifters. What I liked about it is not only second chances, but the traveling around the world. Whilst it is nice to be in just one location, sometimes I like a variety of local and when an author can transport me to several different places, especially during this long pandemic of no travel, I'm thrilled.

Meiling wins me over with her ability to land on her feet (pun intended). This is a woman who lives a dangerous lifestyle because she wants to make a difference in the world. I am impressed by her gumption. Her choice of how to make money and make people pay is spy movie exciting. I love to watch it but I would never want this job. When her entire life is basically derailed by one act of kindness, she bounces back more ferocious. What slays me about this series is how much it sucks to be a female shifter. Meiling gets a raw deal and unfortunately she gets stuck with Gedeon.

Gedeon is an anti-hero. He will never be the white knight nor does he claim or aspire to be. He is unapologetic about his desires or behaviour. He is a product of his upbringing yet in a more positive manner. He may be a match for Meiling but it is questionable if he is good enough for her. I kind of feel like she is settling in someways yet he does bring a lot to the table. Is their relationship healthy and bringing out the best in each other? Meh... questionable.

This story does move along fast with danger, backstabbing, and heroic endeavors. There is the right amount of sexual tension and heat between Meiling and Gedeon. Dare I say - raw primal lust? (pun intended) As with many shifter stories in the last decade or so, the romance is more on the erotic side than romantic. This paranormal romance is recommended for readers who like romance spicy and dark.

Man, this was another really great book! We did have a gap between this book and the previous Leopard book, but we got 2 Torpedo Ink books instead, so the trade off was worth it, and this book was worth the wait, I really enjoyed this couple!

I enjoy this series, but it's not one of my favourites (If I'd have to rank ongoing series, it'd be Ghostwalkers and Dark tied at first, the Shadow series, this one, then Torpedo Ink.) I enjoy them all, but this one and Torpedo Ink are the ones that have more relationships outside my comfort zone with dominance and such.

This book was different in this series. The overarching plotline has been about the criminal territory leaders, and this book didn't deal directly with that, it's got some things set up for the future books. But these two aren't directly connected.

She's a badass who is sweet, but can take you in a fight. He's a loner in the leopard world. They had such a great connection, and they were such a great couple to have their story told in this series! I enjoyed reading about the pair of them so much!

Loved reading this book, and I can't wait to see where the series goes from here!

I enjoyed this book! I read the first few on my own years ago and really enjoyed this authors Leopard storylines. One of my favorite genres is PNR so I’m always looking for a great one to take me away from life for a while. The chemistry is off the charts with the main characters! It didn’t drag at all and kept me waiting for the next thing to happen. I’ve had a hard time reading many books as of late, but this pulled me out of that reading slump.

Leopard’s Scar continues the Leopard series, but it can be read as a standalone. For as much as I adore Feehan, I haven’t read this series. She releases 1 a year in this series, much like her other series. I love shifter books, so I have no idea why I didn’t jump on this sooner!

Meiling is smart and determined. Gedeon is lethal and surly. They need each other and have to work together. This requires a level of trust that isn’t easy for either of them. Both struggle with tragic backstories and trauma. But, these two are drawn together like magnets. Its a bit of of a HOT slow burn because these two are wary of everyone else (including each other). What I think I enjoyed most about this book was the action and suspense. The story is nonstop from the first page. There is danger everywhere, and Meiling and Gedeon travel the world.

Fans of paranormal romance will delight in Leopard’s Scar for its well built world of shifters, Feehan is phenomenal at world building and this book continues that!

Meilling while trying to save trafficked women sees them all massacred; leopard shifter Gedeon kills the murderers and Meiling and he pair up in his lethal business. Meiling is a leopard shifter whose leopard has not emerged yet. Thrilling action in the murky criminal world of shifters. Romance surfaces along the way. Read and enjoy.

LEOPARD’S SCAR is the fourteenth instalment in Christine Feehan’s contemporary, adult LEOPARD erotic, paranormal romance series. This is fixer/Leopard shifter Gedeon Volkov, and Meiling Chang’s story line. LEOPARD’S SCAR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but for back story and cohesion, I recommend reading the series in order.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Meiling and Gedeon) LEOPARD’S SCAR follows the building but contemptuous relationship between leopard shifters Gedeon Volkov, and Meiling Chang. Meiling was too late to rescue her ‘cousin’ from a human trafficking ring but the appearance of a Leopard male shifter meant Meiling had only a matter of time to make her escape. A series of explosions destroying the compound and all survivors left Gedeon Volkov temporarily blinded and unable to walk, and Meiling found herself nursing the shifter back to health. Desperate for Meiling’s help, Gedeon offers Meiling a job, a partnership ‘fixing’ that which cannot be fixed but a partnership in business terms only. Gedeon suspects Meiling is a Leopard shifter who has yet to reach the Han Vol Dan (female leopard’s first heat), and in this, Meiling’s continual denial of herself threatens the relationship between our leading couple. Gedeon’s leopard is dangerous, dark and in constant need of sexual gratification but he refuses to cross the line with the woman with whom he will fall in love instead opting for a series of meaningless women, inciting jealousy in our story line heroine. As Meiling and Gedeon work together on a number of search and rescue assignments, Meiling struggles to keep her leopard under control knowing Gedeon is their mate but a man who has issues with a monogamous relationship. What ensues is the slow building relationship between Meiling and Gedeon, and the potential fall-out as the past continues to hunt for our story line heroine.

Both Meiling and Gedeon lost their families to murder at the hands of an assassin leaving our couple the only surviving members of their Leopard clans. Meiling and Gedeon are descended from a long line of powerful shifters, and in this, Meiling has been targeted by the people at the top. Gedeon has been biding his time, exacting revenge against the Leopards who destroyed his family and his Lair but never expected the betrayal to come from someone he knew.

The relationship between Meiling and Gedeon is a slow building relationship predicated upon revenge and betrayal, desperation and need. Meiling suspects Gedeon is her mate but Gedeon refuses to place Meiling in danger knowing his Leopard is demanding and deadly. Refusing to accept Meiling as their mate, Gedeon continues to push away the woman with whom hr will fall in love. The $ex scenes are erotic, provocative and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of powerful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including but not exclusive to the Amurov Leopard Crime Family Evangeline and Fyodor Amurov (Leopard’s Blood #8), Timur and Ashe Amurov (Leopard’s Run #10), Elijah Lospostos, Jake Bannaconni, and Drake Donovan. The requisite evil has many faces.

LEOPARD’S SCAR is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, greed and hunger, violence and death, acceptance and love. The premise is edgy and dramatic; the romance struggles in the face of perceived betrayal; the characters are numerous, powerful and determined.

Now to address a new ‘revelation’- a species of Leopard with the ability to create and control dragon fire, a group known as the Dragon Throne Justice. I am not sure where the author is going with this new plot twist but it is beginning to sound too much like the Carpathian series.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Leopard’s Scar has all the excellent qualities I have come to expect from a Christine Feehan romance. There is plenty of action, intrigue, and steamy, hot passion! Gedeon and Meiling are “fixers” for hire operating on the fringes of society. Meiling recognizes Gedeon’s leopard “Slayer” instantly and knows she is in extreme danger of losing her life and heart.

Gedeon is a killer, cold-hearted, and a loner. His leopard rides him hard, and he only finds peace with Meiling. Meiling’s past and her leopard are reclusive and unknown. It takes a while for Gedeon and Meiling and their leopards to bond, and Gedeon almost breaks them before they get a start. When the couple is in sync, nothing can stop them.

The plot was mind-blowing! From the intense moments to the sensual ones, I couldn’t put his book down. This was a fast-paced, heart-pounding romance that took you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Leopard’s Scar is the fourteenth book in the Leopard series. These edgy, leopard-shifter romances always deliver heart-racing action and hot, steamy sensuality. Leopard’s Scar perfectly blended fire, heat, and intrigue. The queen of paranormal romance, Christine Feehan, delivers yet another pulse-pounding tale in this fantastic shifter series. I have read the Leopard series, and Leopard’s Scar is another can’t-miss read in this series!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through Netgalley and the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

When it comes to the Leopard People series, this installment was really a hard hitter.
Meiling and Gaedeon have both been nomads their entire lives after their families tragically being hunted down by a particular group who feared the power of their leopards. When they unexpectely meet, they both surprise one another.
This book truly has so many of my favorite tropes. There's morailty chain, there's caretaking, there is a strong heroine, both physically and mentally. This book has amazing chemistry for the couple, and when they FINALLY get together physically, its beautiful.
I'm a huge Feehan fan. This one was a tough one, so please check your triggers. This one deals with human trafficking and other intense subjects.

Meiling Chang has moved from place to place knowing she's being hunted but not understanding the reason why. Meiling promised to meet her cousin Libby in Columbia, but when she arrives, she realizes her cousin's been kidnapped by sex traffickers. Finding her cousin dead, she realizes that there are other women being held captive in a jungle camp. Meiling's faster, and stronger than most Leopards but can she defeat 10 men with weapons?

Gedeon Voslov arrives to pick up money for his employee not realizing what he walked into. Enraged he shifts and kills the men in the camp, but not before they kill all the women. Gedeon is injured when a bomb explodes.

What follows is Meiling rescuing Gedeon and getting them both out of the country and to New Orleans to Gedeon's home. As Gedeon heals they get to know each other and Gedeon offers Meiling a job, and partnership as investigator, retriever, and sometimes as rescuer. Their friendship grows as well as their love. But they both are so damaged from lack of love and all types of abuse, it's difficult for them to communicate and understand each other. Mistakes, and bad decisions are made, but this opens the way for them both to become open, vulnerable to each other and they both grow from it, and truly become a mated pair as well as partners.

Meiling is still being hunted but the hunted become the hunter as with her mate they go after the Dragon Throne Clan who want her killed because of what they know about her and lineage.

Meiling Chang sits hidden in the jungle, contemplating how many of the evil men she is watching she can kill. The last member of her family lays dead in a mass grave, a victim of sex trafficking men. How many men can she kill before she herself dies?
Before she can put any plans into action, a new challenge arrived in a jeep, and Meiling realized that the passenger was an Amur Leopard. She would not go anywhere near a male leopard! They were mean and killed the females. They were close to extinction due to the male’s behavior!
Meiling watched as the leader of the bandits tried to convince Gedeon to invest in the business of trafficking the woman. Meiling could tell that he was getting angrier by the minute. When the leader had his men come in and start abusing the women, Gedeon snapped and killed him.
Unfortunately, all her plans for revenge and escape were set aside after the bandits proceeded to mow down all the prisoners. Gedeon shifted into his leopard and ran to the other camps to save any of the prisoners. The bandits were cruel enough to rig the cams to be blown up and they were leveled.
Meiling saw movement in the rubble and found Gedeon trapped but alive. After watching him try to save the women and children, she could not leave him there to die, even though he was dangerous.
She freed him from the branch trapping him, only to discover that he was blinded by the explosions and possibly had a broken leg. She got them to safety and then got them out of the country.
Gedeon discovered that he really needed Meiling to stick around. For whatever reason, she calmed his leopard down, and even though he had only caught a glimpse of her, he knew she was beautiful and strong.
Gedeon convinces Meiling to stick around and work with him. He had occasions where he needed a female to accompany him, and she was perfect for that with her intelligence, beauty and attention to detail.
Follow Gedeon and Meiling as they learn to work together, and then begin to feel more than a business relationship may be in their future. But they have also found that they have hidden enemies that were trying to kill them. Who was it, and could they survive the attempts on their lives?
I will admit, sometimes the intense feline sex scenes get to me, and I have found myself skipping pages. But the stories pull me in, and I enjoy the descriptions of the countries, people and all the little details she puts into her stories keeps me reading this series.

Paranormal at its finest…

This series continues to be one of my favourites. Ever. The combination of action and mystery, of fantastic characters and the love they find – yeah, try one and you will eagerly stay for the others…

Gedeon played the long game. Not that it felt like a game at all. He was invested in Meiling like he’d never been before. She was his match in so many ways and he appreciated everyone similarity and difference. And he showed it. In what he did, what he said and how he treated her like no one before. He was protective and overpowering but she reined him when he needed it so it never felt off-putting. Instead, it felt like he cared for her. He loved her. And she realized, over the time he gave her, that she returned those feelings. And the journey, well, it was everything… Meiling was resistant, with good reason, yet she (like me) could not hold out forever…

Told in this author’s signature style, their relationship was full on its own, including revisiting some series favourite locations and characters. Those scenes were some of my favourites and helped make this one of my top reads of this year…

Leopard's Scar is another fantastic book from the queen of paranormal romance author Christine Feehan.

This reader was immediately captivated by the fast paced action, riveting suspense and perfect plot of the story. Meiling and Gedeon were a wonderful couple with their blazing hot sexual chemistry and strength. They even had a secret but dangerous connection. There was the usual suspense that kept driving the plot forward to the inevitable showdown against the bad guys. There was trust to be earned in the beginning when Meiling saved Gedeon's life in the jungle. I loved that she was such a strong heroine and that Gedeon accepted her strength. I love strong heroines and Meiling was certainly all that and more.

I absolutely loved this book ! I enjoy all of this author's books and series. The Leopard People Novels are a particular favorite of mine. Leopard's Scar was an exciting page turner from beginning to end. I can't wait for the next book !

Meiling and Gedeon are both in the woods trying to save some kidnapped women and girls but they were too late. When a bomb goes off and Gedeon gets hurt, Meiling was the one saved him and that helped him recover from his injuries. She did this knowing that Gedeon might kill her after he recovered which just made Gedeon more interested in her. The fact that Gedeon's leopard doesn't want to tear her apart like he does most others he's around, just proves to be another thing that attracts her to him. Her personality and fierceness and the fact that she doesn't seem scared of him and actually makes him laugh is something he never expected.

She was surprised when he offers her a job as his partner. Even knowing that he was a killer and a very dangerous man she decided to take the job on a trial basis to see of they could work together. Gedeon having feelings for her, wanted to keep her close because he felt that she might be his mate but he didn't act on it because she didn't seem like she felt the same way about him. They work as investigators trying to find people who are missing and they work really well together.

Meiling and Gedeon are both leopard shifters and while Gedeon's leopard is a killer and he has to fight all the time to keep the animal caged inside himself, Meiling's leopard hasn't emerged yet. She's not sure it ever will. But after a while Meiling can start to feel her leopard beginning to emerge for the very first time and her leopard needs to find a mate. The urge to mate is overwhelming, she would go to Gedeon but he and his leopard are dangerous and she doesn't think that he would ever be faithful to her because he's been with so many women. But she doesn't know that Gedeon has feelings for her and would actually never cheat on her so she doesn't tell him when her leopard starts to emerge. But Gedeon's leopard who is a little crazy and is always wanting to kill people even the women he's with, starts acting even crazier not letting Gedeon sleep, putting him in a really bad situation to where Gedeon thinks he might need to put himself and his animal down just to save the people around him. He doesn't realize that his leopard is probably reacting to the fact that Meiling's leopard is emerging.

Once Meiling can't stop the overwhelming urge to mate and goes to find someone, Gedeon's friends let him know what she's up to and he comes to her rescue. He doesn't want to her mate with anyone but him but he'll have to be very careful in the way he lets her know this. She doesn't realize he has feelings for her and he isn't sure she'll trust him so it takes a little while before they actually get together.

Gedeon and Meiling are both leopard shifters but people have been after both of them for a long time trying to kill them because they're special kinds of leopard shifters. The people after them want these kinds of shifters to all be exterminated. Both of them lost their families to the people who are after them now, so that's something they have in common. They are both really strong, smart and cunning so once they go after the bad guys, I almost felt bad for them...almost.

I enjoyed this book because there was so much story, action and a fun romance. But I found myself a little bored at times which is the only reason this isn't getting 5 stars.

Disclosure: I was given a copy of this book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Gedeon and Meiling are the perfect balance of individual strengths and vulnerabilities that bring them together but also drive the internal conflicts keeping them apart until the desire, revelations, and emotions they discover push them over the edge and they work to figure out how it all fits together. Love this journey with all its twists!

All balanced with External conflicts that also keep the pages turning in suspense, fed by the world they belong to, the partnership they form, those they help and hunt. We learn more about them and leopard lore as they connect with other favorite leopards and danger closes in. Those who hunt her, despise her existence and how she could threaten their power target her through others. This powerful duo becomes determined to remove the threats to her and others permanently. The hunters become the hunted! Love karma being delivered leopard style!

An exciting adventure with one of my favorite couples to date, I throughly enjoyed getting to know Gedeon and Meiling. A story of romance, humor, action, emotion on all scales, discovery and growth as individuals and a couple as they weave themselves into the threads of the series. Great story and I can't wait to see what comes next!

Meiling is determined to find her cousin but she is too late to save her. Vengeance is all that is left until Gedeon takes even that from her. Can she return the favor?
Leopard's Scar is the latest installment in Christine Feehan's Leopard series. I enjoyed getting to know Gedeon and Meiling. They had a different set of values that some how managed to mesh well. Neither one was use to trusting so I loved seeing them find a way to trust each other. I loved their courtship that began as friendship. I enjoyed the fact that love snuck up on both of them. But could they trust in their new found feelings? Or will their past destroy a future together? I thoroughly enjoyed finding out. I enjoyed this story and their journey. I looked forward to more from Ms. Feehan in the future.

(4.5) Guts you right out of the gate in so many ways. I loved Meiling. Gedeon had to work to make me love him, only because of the "necessity" of his many extra curricular activities. Meiling is tiny, compassionate, over steel. Reminded me of a Steel Magnolia :) She is quick and strong, but her shifter has not appeared. She saves Gedeons life and their story begins. They each have a horrific past, Meilings beginning as a young girl and Gedeons as a young boy. Gedeon remembers his past and Meiling does note. Gedeon is about death, Meiling is about peace. Their story is a slow burn and I truly appreciated that. I am not a fan of erotica but cannot resist Christines plots and story telling. I fast forward or flip through those. The fact that we got to see Feyora, Evangaline, Timor and others was a cherry on top. Loved getting to see everyone again. Anyone else think we might have to worry about Feyora after Timors comment? I digress. As Gedeon and Meiling work together finding people and always have the underling, back story we are treated to heart-wrenching memories of the two and the growth of a beautiful love story. Thank you for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions. #Leopardsscar #christinefeehan #berkley #netgalley

Their first meeting was over blood and guts. Even though Meiling was brought up to fear leopard shifters she is unable to leave a grievously hurt Gedeon to die so she carries him away from danger and nurses him back to health.  But that's as far as she's willing to go unless Gedeon can convince her otherwise.
In Gedeon's custom home deep in the swamps of Louisiana, they forge an incredible partnership of equals. Gedeon is a fixer and Meling becomes his partner but even though sexual hunger drives them both they resist each other knowing that once they cross those boundaries things will change as they inevitably do.
Both Gedeon and Meiling were forged in an incredible crucible that has shaped them and they are both hunting for revenge against their common enemy. As things lead them to the ultimate romance, will their personal relationship survive the aftermath?
Having read all the books in the series and the domination of the Leopard emergence in these stories I really like how Ms. Feehan has written this story making it different and yet incorporating the characteristics of the emergence.  A lot of characters that we have met before in the series make appearances here so it's nice to catch up to what's been happening in their lives.
It does amuse in some ways that all these characters are criminals but in a good kind of way. All in all, I really enjoyed this book and hope to continue to see more in this series.

Christine Feehan returns with another thrilling book in the paranormal romance Leopard series. Meiling knows Gedeon is a leopard shifter as soon as she sees him. She knows she can’t trust a male shifter, but she still rescues him. Gedeon is used to women coming to him, but not carrying him to safety. As they get to know one another, they establish a working relationship, but there’s evil around them. Will they survive?

As always, Feehan does an incredible job of bringing the main characters to life. Meiling is intelligent, kind, witty, strong, confident, independent, loyal, fearless, and charming. Gedeon is fast, strong, dangerous, confident, loves the hunt, and he’s feared by many. There words, actions, reactions, thoughts, and mannerisms help readers gain even more clues about their personalities. Both had tragic and frightening childhoods and action-oriented careers. Each goes through a transformation as the story progresses. It was also great to reconnect with characters from previous books. This gave the series continuity and I enjoyed visited with old friends.

This novel takes readers on a journey. Scenes from the jungle in Venezuela, New Orleans, San Antonio, and Russia are well done. The world-building was great with the jungle as well as Gedeon’s house and the nearby swamp being especially vivid.

The story grabbed my attention immediately and didn’t let up as I rapidly turned the pages. The deeply involved and multi-layered plot has some unpredictable moments that add suspense and danger. The author balances the violent aspects of the novel with the intrigue, romance, work relationships, and the jobs they accept. This action-packed novel features cruelty, power, death, greed, jealousy, betrayal, friendship, romance, working relationships, and much more. Several spicy and steamy scenes are also included.

Overall, this action-packed romantic suspense has great characterization, several spicy and sizzling scenes, and plenty of action. Those who enjoy steamy and action-packed paranormal romantic suspense novels with compelling characters will likely enjoy this book. I have read more than seventy books by this author across multiple series. This one has the right mix of romance, tension, action, and thrilling storyline. I’m looking forward to reading my next book by this author.

Berkley Publishing Group and Christine Feehan provided a complimentary digital ARC of this novel via NetGalley. This is my honest review. Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way. Publication date is currently set for November 29, 2022.

Meling has spent her whole hiding from those who destroyed her family. After the woman who was her last connection to childhood goes missing, Meiling finds her too late in a South American jungle after human traffickers have ended her with a large group of other captives. When leopard shifter, Gedeon, shows up to destroy their hideout, he is grievously wounded and so belying her size, Meiling carries him to safety and home. Meiling is a latent shifter in that her other animal half has not yet risen despite her age.

Once back in NOLA, Meiling agrees to stay with Gedeon as he heals; she then works with him in a covert business which is often for some very nasty people. Meiling agrees to partner with Gedeon for a year knowing his reputation not only as a man who gets the job done, but his propensity to go through many women in sex only relationships. She refuses to be one of his conquests, and Gedeon knows that would end their association. This aspect of Gedeon’s personality certainly detracts from the usual relationship development in these stories.

They not only do very dangerous work, but a residual group of those who took out Meiling’s family are after her to finish the job. Gedeon, whose family was also destroyed by this same faction, is a rare type of leopard whose group has been all but demolished by a particularly evil consortium of shifters who want to rule them all. As Meiling and Gedeon work together, they both feel the attraction growing but she is unwilling to accommodate his life style while he feels unable to change because of the what his violent other half needs.

This novel is #14 in the Leopard series; some of the previously introduced couples in Texas play a role in this story as well. The series continues to be interesting although some elements are a bit repetitive. As in other books in her series, Ms. Feehan remains focused on human trafficking as well as criminal elements who work behind the scenes to police their own which is quite a vexed issue as they are law breakers themselves. Fans of the series will know what to expect in this latest addition.
