5 Stars for She’s Mine by new to me author Belinda Wright. This is Book one in the Protected Series.

The sizzling attraction between Slater and Dale is like a live wire. Unfortunately , he finds out she is the 22 year old daughter of the Martinez ( Spanish mob boss ) and should be off limits.

Great storyline , plot and characters !

Thank you to Belinda Wright and Netgalley for this ARC.

I really enjoyed She's Mine, it had a good story line and I felt it didn't drag at any point. Loved Slater, Dale got on my nerves at times. As annoying as it can be, I enjoyed the cliff hanger.

I really thought this would be a new favourite of mine but woah! This was instant love at its quickest. One of the reasons I like romance is the cheesy moments and unbreakable tension, all of which I felt were lacking throughout the book. Another issue I had when reading was that I couldn’t connect to the characters. However, this book was an easy read which I completed in a few days which is why I gave it 3 stars.

Thank you NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first time reading a mafia romance book and I really liked it so I definitely will read more books with that trope.

It was a fast read and left me with a thank God I already have book number 2 to start right away.

I love this trope, usually.
This one is not good.
First of all, it’s poorly written. Why use two words that mean the same thing in the same sentence? In addition the book needs to be proofread.
The story is implausible, and the damsel in distress motif doesn’t work. Even the spicy scenes are either way too short or not written in a way that strikes the uh, imagination.
I have read 100 of these style books in the past, and this one missed the mark by a lot.
I do appreciate the opportunity to proof the book in exchange for my opinion. I won’t publish my negative reviews on Blogs or GR because I don’t want to hurt the chances this book has of being marketed.

I'm an avid reader of mafia romances and was excited to read She's Mine! I'm a huge sucker for the boss' daughter/bodyguard dynamic and Slater is a completely swoon-worthy MMA fighter. The chemistry between Dale and Slater was hot and their dynamic together was hilarious. Dale is very much an independent young woman who's spent her whole life being sheltered and smothered by overbearing men. So when Dale meets Slater, she is intrigued by this hard man who only lets down his walls for her in the softest of moments. I enjoyed reading the dual POV's. While I felt that some of Dale's actions came across as immature and childish, I think Dale is struggling to come into her own self. Hopefully we'll get to see Dale mature and the relationship between Dale and Slater will develop more in the next book. She's Mine ends on a cliffhanger and I'll definitely be reading the next book to find out what happens to Dale and Slater!

Book Review 📚
⭐⭐⭐.5

First I would like to thank @netgalley for this ARC!

Quick Summary, Slater a MMA fighter/coach gets hired by a top Gangster Boss to "watch" his 22 year Old Daughter Daleylah. His job is to keep her safe until he gets back from his trip to Spain. After Dale's life is threatened and Slater doesn't who's behind it, he starts keeping Dale safe for himself.

Ok, ok, this book will definitely keep you interested! It leaves you with a terrible cliff hanger and now im desperately waiting for the second 🤦‍♀️. I need to know what happens!
This was perfectly spicy and the connection between the characters were on point!
What I didn't really like was the whole "work" situation. I felt like it was really forced just to fill some space in pages. Like it just felt like a really weak mafia in my opinion that wasn't explained well.

Other than that, overall good read and I'm looking forward to book 2!

This book is out now! Go get it!

I wanted to like these books but something was missing for me and I'm not sure what. I will add these to my TBR2 pile and give them both another try.

Slater runs and owns several fight clubs. One of his business associates asks him to watch out for his daughter, Daleylah Martinez. Dale is ready to have a good time, to have fun while her fathers is out of town and escape his house and his rules. I love how he feels she is no match for his intelligence, his strength or his charm. When her life is in danger, and she’s almost killed he vows to protect her to keep her safe and in his life. A captivating story of two strong willed people who are fighting each other, for their lives and their love. I voluntarily read and reviewed the book.

She’s Mine is a mafia romance that centers around our MC Dale and Slater. I really enjoyed Slater as a main character. He’s smart, quick witted and passionate toward his crew and Dale. Dale i didn’t find aggravating sometimes. She acted very childish and whined A LOT. I felt the story kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat the entire time. The second 50% of the book i was extremely engaged and couldn’t put it down. AND THAT CLIFF HANGER. I was lucky enough to recover book 2 as an eARC as well, and i was so happy cuz i IMMEDIATELY needed to keep reading.

Overall it was a good read. Suspense, spice and romance were all pretty well done.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for supplying me with an eARC in response for an honest review!

This book is tricky…. Did I like it? Simple answer is yes. Why did I give it two stars? I felt like I wanted more of everything throughout the book. More action. More chemistry. More spice. More personality.

I think this book would be great for a person who is new to the genre, doesn’t want something overly violent or smutty, but still wants that forbidden romance element. For me, I’ve read countless Mafia romance books and nothing stood out to be overly exciting or unique about the book.

I have the sequel available but I’m unsure as to whether I’m interested in reading it

This is book one in The Protected series and it is Slater and Dale's story. Slater's fight club empire is growing in to a thriving and successful business and everything is going as planned until he is asked by one of the mob bosses of Slater would watch his daughter and keep her safe while he is out of town so Slater agrees thinking that it will be easy and a walk in the park. Dale was excited when her father said that he was going out of town on business because it means that she can be free to do anything that she wants and go out with her friend's until her father sends her a babysitter but even that will not stop her from doing exactly what she wants. When Slater and Dale meet there is a instant attraction and chemistry but he is there to keep her safe and anything else will just complicate thing's. I really enjoyed the story as it was engaging and had you turning the pages to see what would happen next and then you get a cliff hanger ending. This is the first book that I have read by this author but look forward to reading more in the future.

I Voluntarily Reviewed a Copy of This Book.

Thank you NetGalley for the eARC. This book is so interesting!!! I love the storyline and i was so mad when i got to the end of the book then I remembered i have book 2! I am totally rooting for Dale and Slater! I do get upset when a girl totally gives herself to a man body and soul after only a few days but this time im ok with it.

This book is lacking in chemistry, personality, and angst.

Also, can the dark/mafia romance not end with the 365-day route? It's becoming taxing; I don't mind if it's well written, but not for this book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for giving me this eArc to review.

This book wasn't too bad at the start but I found myself disliking the dynamic between the main two characters. There was quite a power imbalance and I didn't like the spicy scenes either.

I loved this book!!

It had everything I look for in this type of story - it was romantic and sexy

It was full of emotions and tense action - it was a will of wars in a shady setting - and it was an addictive page turner

The storyline was well planned out and this book, being the first in the series really does a brilliant job at setting the scene for the books ahead - I can't wait to read them!

It is 5 star from me for this one, very highly recommended - a fabulous read!

I found this book to be really interesting. I really loved the romance behind it as well as the suspense and the drama. Slater seems like the kind of guy no one is dumb enough to mess with, but can handle himself if he needs to. Dale has been sheltered from the like her dad leads and it’s almost cost her her life. Her dad seems to care about no one but himself and starting useless turf wars with powerful people. I’m excited to see what happens next.

When I read the description, I thought for sure it’d be action/violence packed and super spicy but I was left wanting more. More spice and more action. Things in this book felt too easy. I am planning to read the sequel to see what happens.
